..::On this past week's Meltdown::..
As the cameras go backstage, a shadow is cast on the back wall of a hallway. The curves, as they get more defined, suggest that the owner of the shadow is a female and about five-eight in height. Within a few minutes, the person turns the corner and is facing the camera, showing themselves to the audience and the viewers at home. They give a mixed reaction, seeing as it's nearly everyone's favorite psycho diva, Victoria.
As she walks towards the camera, she gives a sideways glance to the posters and ads on the wall, but something makes her stop short. The camera pans over and shows a Meltdown poster featuring Trish Stratus and a few of the other prominent divas in the company. Frowning, Victoria grabs a tube of lipstick from a nearby employee that was primping herself and scrawls something onto the poster in bright red. Tossing the lipstick back to the girl, she walks off with a snarl, clearly angry about something. When the camera goes back to the poster, it is now covered with the words "BLONDES SUCK". The scene then fades out, changing to a shot of the ring just before the Batista/Morrison match gets underway.
..::Currently::..
I'm not surprised that nobody's talking about what I did this past week on Meltdown. I didn't do it so people would talk. I did it because I felt like it. Trish needed to be taken down a level, and writing all over her pretty little body did it. At least, that's how I see it. I sent a nice little message to all of the blondes here in WIW, whether they like me or not. You all SUCK. Not just the guys in the back, but in general.
As I'm sitting in my locker room, adjusting my knee brace, there's a knock at the door. I glare at it, hoping whoever's on the other side will get the hint to just go away. Apprently they don't, because they knock again. Frowning, I roll my eyes towards the ceiling and continue working with my knee brace, making sure it's nice and tight so it doesn't slip out of place. Again, the person knocks, further annoying the holy hell out of me. Sighing, I take my leg down off of the bench I had it propped on and stand up before going to the door. Closing my eyes, I try to keep my attitude in check as I turn the handle and open the door a crack. Standing out there is Todd Grisham, the second dorkiest man I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. First would be Michael Cole, of course. At least Todd isn't at Michael's level of ugly.. that would be a tragedy. Shutting the door back, I turn my back on it just to hear him talk through the door.
[ Meltdown Interviewer / Todd Grisham ]
Victoria? It's Todd.. Todd Grisham. I've been told to come interview you to get your thoughts on your first match here in WIW.
He's apparently waiting to see if I'll open the door again, since he goes quiet.
[ Meltdown Interviewer / Todd Grisham ]
Victoria? I know you're in there.. I saw you open the door.
Damn it to hell...
I jerk open the door, scaring him and give him a look that conveys just how annoyed I am by him being here.
[ Psycho Diva / Victoria ]
WHAT?! What in hell do you want, Grisham?
He pales considerably, maybe two or three shades. His eyes grow wide, as if he's about to be hit.. and maybe, if he keeps annoying me, he will.
[ Meltdown Interviewer / Todd Grisham ]
I... I just wanted to get your thoughts on your debut match here, that's all.
I close my eyes and put my hand on my forehead, as if rubbing away a headache.. which I was.. but it was one that hadn't made itself known yet. Looking back at Todd, I drop my hand to my side and frown.
[ Psycho Diva / Victoria ]
Fine, Todd. Have your little interview.. make it quick, though. I don't want every dork in the city thinking this is a meeting place.
He looked around as if looking for those dorks then looked back at me.
[ Meltdown Interviewer / Todd Grisham ]
Alright, then.. um, first off, how have things been since your arrival here? I mean, we all saw what you did to the Meltdown poster with Trish on it, but other than that, how have you been?
I expected a good interview and this is what he starts with? My God... I really did get Michael Cole. Oh well, at least someone's talking about what I did on Meltdown.. even if it is a dork that would probably be more at home playing Dugeons and Dragons as opposed to interviewing people that could probably squish him with a thought.
[ Psycho Diva / Victoria ]
[sarcastically] Things have been great, Todd, really. I've been having a damn ball, thanks for asking. [seriously] Ugh.. moron. OF COURSE EVERYONE SAW! How could they not?! It was on tv, for the love of God! If you don't see something that's right in front of your face, then you're either stupid or blind!
I turned away from the door and went back to the bench, sitting down hard on it, frustrated. I propped my leg back up on the opposite bench and went back to adjusting my knee brace, leaving the door open for the world's biggest pest to come flying right in and buzz right in my ear til I killed it. This pest's name? The rare Toddus Grishamus.. only one known about in the entire U.S. of A... thank God. It came in and landed on the bench opposite me, looking at me with it's beady eyes, it's mouth gaping open. I didn't know whether to squash it or take a picture of it for the next bug collector's magazine. Either way, I continued to ready myself for what I had planned for later as he asked his stupid little questions.
[ Meltdown Interviewer / Todd Grisham ]
Can I ask something?
I looked at him. He didn't just ask that, did he? Oh my Lord.. an interviewer asking if he could ask me something? He's a new level of stupid, isn't he? I decided to fuck with him a little bit.
[ Psycho Diva / Victoria ]
No, you can't. One question a day is your limit.
He looked at me, probably a bit shocked. I had the urge to laugh at him, but held it back. Sighing, acting annoyed - it didn't take much - I motioned towards him.
[ Psycho Diva / Victoria ]
Fine, Todd.. ask your questions.
[ Meltdown Interviewer / Todd Grisham ]
First off, why did you write on the Meltdown poster? Trish hasn't done anything to you. That was WIW property that you vandalized, Victoria. I mean, what reason was there to do that?
[ Psycho Diva / Victoria ]
Why? What reason did I have? Easy. I don't like blondes, especially that Barbie doll, Trish. She's held me back ever since I got into this business, and I'll be damned if she's going to do it anymore. The fact that that poster was WIW property doesn't bother me a bit, and it shouldn't. They have plenty more, I'm sure.
I got up from the bench and grabbed what looked like a key on a cord that I had sitting idly beside me. Making my way out of the door, I walked down the hall, intent on going outside. That's where my next peice of business would take place. Unfortunately, the pest came back and continued it's buzzing.
[ Meltdown Interviewer / Todd Grisham ]
What do you think of your upcoming match for this weekend?
Without turning around or stopping, I went through the double doors that led out into the parking lot that was empty for the most part.
[ Psycho Diva / Victoria ]
What match?
Now outside, I stopped and turned to him, making him stop short, nearly running into me.
[ Psycho Diva / Victoria ]
Oh, you mean that match?
I nodded to the top of the arena we were just in, making him look up and the camera point towards it. There, flapping in the breeze, was a banner that pictured myself and the three other women in this weekend's match situated on the roof above the doors that I had just come out of. Walking towards the building, I looped the cord around my left index finger and prepared to climb the ladder that led to the roof.
[ Meltdown Interviewer / Todd Grisham ]
Um, Victoria?
I sighed and paused, my foot on the first rung and my hands grasping a couple of different rungs above me. Looking at him over my shoulder, I answered him not so nicely.
[ Psycho Diva / Victoria ]
What?
[ Meltdown Interviewer / Todd Grisham ]
What is that? That thing around your finger...
I took my hand down and opened it up, showing him what I held. It was what looked like a peice of lead attached to a peice of plastic, which made it look like a key. The thick cord was looped through the hole in the plastic and a peice of thin, serrated metal was dangling from it.
[ Psycho Diva / Victoria ]
It's called a Swedish FireSteel. All it takes is one stroke to create sparks that can easily start a fire.
As I turned back to the ladder and started to climb, his jaw dropped open.
[ Meltdown Interviewer / Todd Grisham ]
You're.. you're not gonna burn the building down with it, are you?
[ Psycho Diva / Victoria ]
No, moron, I'm not.
He apparently didn't get the point that I was serious, because he started flipping out.
[ Meltdown Interviewer / Todd Grisham ]
You can't DO this, Victoria!! This is... this is arson! You could go to jail for this! Victoria, please! Stop and think about what you're doing!
[ Psycho Diva / Victoria ]
Didn't I just tell you I'm NOT burning the building down? I mean really.. I DO have some semblance of a heart. Give me at least a little bit of credit, jeez.
I had finally reached the roof and I was making my way over to the sign from before. Sitting down behind it, the heat trapped in the metal started warming my ass, but I didn't care. It felt rather nice after being in that freezing building. Looking down over the top of the banner, I saw Todd still staring at me.
[ Psycho Diva / Victoria ]
Yo, Todd! You want an interview about my match? Well make sure you've got plenty of tape, cause this is all you're getting!
He checked with the cameraman and nodded up to me afterwards, signaling that they had enough tape. With that confirmed, I went ahead.
[ Psycho Diva / Victoria ]
This match... will be my first in this company. Am I nervous? [I shrugged.] No, not really. Should I be?
Well, looking at my opponents, I'm gonna say no. Yeah, I've seen what a couple of them can do, and to be
honest, I wasn't impressed. Let's start with Katie Lea here. [I tapped her picture on the banner.] She
isn't that great. She screws her brother by all accounts, she's so British nobody can understand her, and she
looks like a bulldog that's grown hair. She honestly isn't amounting to anything. All she is is a space waster on
the payroll.
Taking the FireSteel, I position it behind her picture and stroke the metal against the lead rod, creating sparks in seconds, some of which jump onto the banner, quickly creating a hole in the plastic. It spreads steadily until I decide that it's done it's job; clapping it between my hands, I put the small fire out and move on, now sitting behind Lucy's part of the banner.
[ Psycho Diva / Victoria ]
Lucy Furr.. some rookie, apparently wanting to make herself sound all bad ass, adopted a name as close to Lucifer as she could. [I clap boredly and nearly laugh.] Did you know that there's a cartoon about you on Cartoon Network? Lucy, daughter of the Devil... pretty funny if you're a stoner or a moron. [I look down at Todd, who's still watching me, along with the cameraman.] Hey, Todd! Ever heard of a show called "Lucy, daughter of the Devil"?
[ Meltdown Interviewer / Todd Grisham ]
Yeah, I love it. Why?
[ Psycho Diva / Victoria ]
[I mutter under my breath.] Point made. [I talk back down at Todd.] No reason, just wondering. [I then continue to talk about Lucy, not bothering to answer Todd.] There's no way in hell I'm going to be scared of you, Lucy, so forget it. Whatever you can do, I can do ten times better. This weekend, you're done before you even began.
Striking the FireSteel again, I set her part of the banner ablaze as well before clapping it out and moving on.
[ Psycho Diva / Victoria ]
I really do hope my partner is as good as everyone says. It isn't that I can't hold my own, it's just that I don't wanna carry her ass. Despite their sizes, these stick figured bitches can get pretty heavy. Either way, this weekend on Meltdown will end up just like this banner...
I stand up to my full height and look down on the two men standing in the parking lot watching me.
[ Psycho Diva / Victoria ]
...with me and my partner the only ones left.
With that, the scene fades out as the cameraman cuts the camera off.
