August 30, 2009 "Burn It To the Ground" by Nickelback plays as
we see images of Moose, Max Cameron, Vigilante, Tommy Purr, Hoshi
Yakamoto, Jack Spade, Hammer, Gary Barber, Rose Lemieux, Malk and
Greyson Blaze before we look backstage where Neriah Sweet is with
Paulie La Cerva. Paulie La Cerva - We are two weeks from Pyrophoric and we feel we need to find out who would be the best man or woman to challenge Tommy Purr that night. Next week, we will find out. Neriah Sweet - What do you have in mind? Paulie La Cerva - I have picked the wrestlers which I feel would be the strongest challenge to Tommy Purr. They will be revealed at the end of tonight's show and will compete in a gauntlet match. The last competitor to secure a pinfall or submission will prove they are the number one contender. Neriah Sweet - You won't even give us a hint? Paulie La Cerva - I can tell you that it won't involve Noah Skanes. Neriah Sweet - That's not much of a hint, you know. Paulie La Cerva - I guess you have to wait and find out then, don't you? Neriah Sweet - It should make for quite the match. Paulie La Cerva - Match of the year material, Neriah. Quote me on that. He then makes his exit and we head to ringside
where Henry Lesher and Ricky Simms are all set to call the action. Ricky Simms - Kira has been making overtures to Danny Dixon for the past couple of weeks. Where will that go? Henry Lesher - No one cares, not even a little. Danny locks up with Kira and then whips her off the ropes. He misses with a clothesline as she ducks it and then she gives him a standing dropkick which sends him back to the corner. Kira then charges in and gives him a running knee lift before she goes for a monkey flip. Danny manages to stay steady and he shoves Kira to the mat as we see two men sliding under the bottom rope into the ring. One picks Kira up and power bombs her to the mat and the other gives Danny a boot to the chest before he then does the same to Jimmy Jack, who has jumped onto the apron. The referee is forced to ring the bell. Ricky Simms - What the hell are these two doing? Henry Lesher - Bringing this horrible idea to a quick end. The one man throws Kira over the top rope and out to the floor while the other gives Danny Dixon a spike DDT to the mat and then kicks him out to the floor next to Kira. They smile and pose for the booing crowd and one motions for a microphone, which is thrown to him by Sammy Jo Johnson. Fist Rockbone - I am Fist Rockbone and this is Splint Chesthair. We are The Young and the Reckless. There is only room for one soap opera in the CWA and we are it. Splint Chesthair - Drink us in fans. It doesn't get any more handsome than this. Fist tosses the microphone back to Sammy and
they laugh as they leave the ring. The mug for the camera on their
way up the ramp towards the backstage area. Max Cameron - Here to gloat? Vigilante - Hey, I come in peace. Max Cameron - I believe that why? Vigilante - Look, I was getting a standard attack from the Power Trip and you almost killed yourself to make the save. Max Cameron - I heard the bell, my night was over. They were in the way of my real target. Vigilante - *smirks* Oh, this is rich. Max Cameron - You're back a few weeks and you get gold? I have fought week in and week out for years and that troll Lesher has cost me twice now. Vigilante - Wow, and this is you all over man. It is never your fault. I come in here to give you a pat on the back, which you clearly need, and I get this shit? Max Cameron - I an not a charity case, Vig. Vigilante - *leans in close and speaks in a whisper* Actually, you are. See, the EVC does their shit. Moose wins titles. Tommy wins titles and puts together a decent stable. You sit here and pick up the scraps with Wren. You paint yourself as a victim, Max. You are only a victim of yourself. Max Cameron - You're an overrated has been. Vigilante clocks Max with the title belt, catching him across the forehead and bringing him down before he then whips Max across the chest with the belt as well. Vigilante puts the boots to Max and then stands over him, shaking his head. Vigilante - That's what happens Max, when you decide to be difficult. I was being the bigger man here. If I'ma has been, you're a never was. Vigilante then makes his exit and we head back to ringside where Lesher is standing and applauding what we just saw backstage. Ricky Simms - Doc, sit down. Are you crying? Henry Lesher - So beautiful. That Vigilante is
a great man. Ricky Simms - Three time Originals Tag champs here, talking strategy. Henry Lesher - They are two of the very few Originals who don't completely suck. Arizona pulls himself onto the ring apron and then steps through the ropes into the ring which allows the referee to call for the bell. Magnus starts trading punches with Arizona and then gives Zona an eye gouge before giving him an atomic drop and then he whips Arizona off the ropes before giving him a backdrop to the mat. Magnus then lands a leg drop across the throat on Arizona and goes for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Arizona. Magnus then pulls Arizona to his corner and tags in Steve Hawkins. Hawkins and Magnus then stand Arizona up, whips him off the ropes and then gives him a double clothesline to the mat. Hawkins then gives Arizona an elbow to the throat before he goes for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Arizona. Ricky Simms - They have Zona down, but cannot put him out. Henry Lesher - That's because they are both terrible wrestlers. Hawkins stands Arizona up, whips him off the ropes and misses with a clothesline as he ducks it and then Arizona gives Hawkins a reverse neckbreaker before diving to his corner and tagging in Samson. Samson charges into the ring and puts the boots to Hawkins before he taunts Magnus. Magnus steps into the ring and is headed off by the referee. This distraction allows Samson to rain down closed fists to the head on Hawkins and then he stands Hawkins up and whips him through the ropes and out to the floor. Samson then steps out onto the apron, waits for Hawkins to stand and then gives him a diving clothesline to the floor from there. Samson then slams Steve's head off of the floor before standing him up, rolling him into the ring and then he does the same himself. He goes for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Hawkins. Ricky Simms - The tables have turned dramatically here. Henry Lesher - This goes to what I said earlier about how horrible they are. Samson stands Hawkins up, whips him off the ropes and then gives him a spinning power slam to the mat. Samson then stands Hawkins up and whips him to his corner where Arizona gives him a head butt and Hawkins staggers back into a full Nelson from Samson. Hawkins then wriggles free and rolls Samson into a small package for the pin. 1...2...3! Hawkins rolls himself out to the floor while an enraged Arizona steps into the ring to confront the referee. Ricky Simms - Huge upset here by the Pale Rider and Magnus! Henry Lesher - That was a fast count! Zona has every right to be mad! Arizona and Samson both plead their case while
Hawkins and Divine make their way up the ramp and Hawkins says he
wants in the Originals Title match now. Crystal Braun - On this night of announcements, you are announcing hoe the Originals Diva match will work for Pyrophoric. Vesuvius - Okay, so I stated it would be a Rock, Paper, Scissor match. One team will come out dressed in rock T-shirts and jean shorts. The other team will come out with paper clothing on. The scissors part is simple. The first team to locate the pairs of scissors located around the ring and to cut the other team out of their outfits wins. Crystal Braun - Another match some people will consider to be a cheesy premise. Vesuvius - It will fuel high buy rates, Crystal. I make this company money. Crystal Braun - You are so smart. Vesuvius - Guilty as charged. Crystal Braun - Do we know which team will be Rock and which team will be Paper? Vesuvius - We will find that out at Pyrophoric. I won't play my cards this early. The Original Divas will again make this company money and... there is more. Crystal Braun - There is? Vesuvius - Paulie refuses to hear me out on the Diva Title coming back. As such, I will introduce a new title at Pyrophoric. The Anarchy Diva champ will be born that night. In two weeks, I will present the belt to any diva in the CWA, Original or otherwise, who wins the match. Crystal Braun - That's more sheer brilliance. Vesuvius - I try to make a difference.
Crystal embraces Vesuvius and we return to the ring. Ricky Simms - The Mask means business tonight. Henry Lesher - Why wouldn't he? This isn't arts and crafts, Rick. The Mask does put the steps down and then he grabs Greyson by the hair and pulls him to his feet. Greyson gives The Mask a series of punches to the gut and then gives him a jawbreaker before Greyson then rolls himself into the ring. The Mask then gets to his feet and rolls himself into the ring where he is greeted by Greyson with kicks to the head and chest. Greyson then lands a springboard moonsault onto The Mask a moment after the referee calls for the opening bell. Greyson goes for the immediate pin. 1...2... kick out by The Mask. Ricky Simms - That would have been quick. Henry Lesher - Greyson is usually finished quick and leaves people disappointed as well. Greyson stands The Mask up, whips him into the corner buckle and then gives him a knee to the gut followed by a double under hook suplex to the mat and then goes for the pin again. 1...2... kick out by The Mask again. Greyson stands The Mask up, whips him off the ropes and then takes a clothesline to the mat from The Mask who then puts the boots to Greyson. The Mask then places Greyson's throat over the bottom rope and chokes him with it while the referee threatens to disqualify The Mask. Ricky Simms - Tables turn and Greyson is in trouble here. Henry Lesher - He was done before the match started and you know it, Rick. The Mask lets up on the choke and then he stands Greyson up, gives him a vicious knife edge chop to the chest and then whips Greyson off the ropes before giving him a spear to the mat and then he goes for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Greyson. The Mask stands Greyson up, whips him off the ropes and both men clothesline each other to the mat which causes the referee to start counting them both down. On the five count, The Mask gets to his hands and knees and then starts raining down punches to the head on Greyson. Greyson answers with an arm drag on The Mask which sends him away and then Greyson uses the ropes to pull himself to his feet. Greyson and The Mask start trading punches to the head and then Greyson ducks a punch before giving The Mask a side Russian leg sweep to the mat and then he goes for the pin. 1...2... kick out by The Mask. Ricky Simms - That was close. Henry Lesher - No, it really wasn't. The Mask is toying with the loser here. Greyson stands The Mask up, whips him into the corner buckle and then charges in for a shoulder block, but The Mask side steps it and then rams Greyson's shoulder into the corner post. The Mask then whips Greyson out to the floor and then follows him out. The Mask puts the boots to Greyson on the floor. The Mask again picks up the ring steps and this time he brings them down on the skull of Greyson which causes the referee to call for the bell, disqualifying The Mask. Ricky Simms - Greyson has been busted wide open here. Henry Lesher - Good, serves him right. Maybe that will take him down a notch. Steve Blake exits the ring and
stands between The Mask and Greyson to try and prevent further
attack. The Mask throws the steps aside and then starts to make his
way up the ramp while shaking his head. Gary Barber - You're back then? Frank Merritt - Looks like it, yeah. Gary Barber - I want you to keep an eye on my match with Vigilante tonight. I don't want Greyson sticking his nose in there. Frank Merritt - I would say that's unlikely. The Mask just cost him any memories he had before grade six. Gary Barber - Just be there and keep your eyes on this match. The EVC needs to prove its strength this week, especially if Paulie is seeking a top contender at next week's show. Frank Merritt - Won't he be seeing how people win and the effort they make? Gary Barber - Hey, if you don't think I make the effort. Frank Merritt - You're taking that the wrong way. Gary Barber - I hope so. Tonight, Vigilante will go down and his record takes a hit when I pin him to the mat. Frank Merritt - Sure thing, boss. Barber
exits the room and Frank watches him leave, his face expressing no
telling emotion. Ricky Simms - Pyro wasting no time in going for the win there. Henry Lesher - He is failing. This is standard for Pyro. Pyro picks Rose up and slams her to the mat and then gives her an elbow smash to the throat and then stands her up, whips her into the corner buckle and then goes for a clothesline, but Rose ducks then, knees Pyro in the gut and then slams Pyro's head into the corner buckle before giving him an inverted DDT to the mat and then goes for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Pyro. Rose then goes to the ropes in the corner and she makes her way to the top rope. Pyro gets to his feet as Rose leaps. Pyro catches Rose in mid-air and then gives her a tilt a whirl backbreaker before he goes for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Rose. Ricky Simms - Both wrestlers are scoring near pins early in this one. Henry Lesher - I don't care. No one does. My God, they wonder why this company is tanking. Pyro stands Rose up, whips her through the ropes to the floor and then he drops and rolls himself out as well. He stands Rose up and rams her head into the guard railing and comes face to face with none other than 6Pac Dudley which draws loud cheers from the crowd, the two jawing at each other. Rose gets to her feet behind Pyro and dropkicks him in the back, sending him forward and causing 6Pac to spill his beer on himself. Rose then rolls Pyro into the ring before doing the same herself. Ricky Simms - 6Pac came here as a fan tonight and got a beer dumped on him. Henry Lesher - It's a tough call about which wrestler sucks more between them. Rose stands Pyro up, whips him off the ropes and then gives him a backdrop to the mat. Rose then lands a springboard leg drop on Pyro and goes for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Pyro and we see 6Pac stepping over the guard railing, taking off his black T-shirt. Rose stands Pyro up, whips him off the ropes and he ducks a clothesline. He sees 6Pac at ringside and he goes over to the ropes and shouts at him. Rose then dropkicks Pyro in the back, jumps to top rope in the nearest corner and then gives Pyro a jumping kick to the side of the head before rolling him into a backslide. 1...2...3! Rose scores the win over a distracted Pyro. No sooner has she won the match than 6Pac is inside the ring and putting the boots to Pyro. Ricky Simms - Looks like 6Pac is back in active duty here. Henry Lesher - He senses a wrestler more pathetic than he is.
6Pac exits the ring after delivering a few more boots to Pyro and
gets a loud ovation from his hometown crowd. We then take a look
backstage. Malk - I already explained this to you. This is my match tonight. Darien Sunn - I'm here for a member of the Golden Era. Malk - Which is ESW. This is the CWA and, here, I am a member of The Brat Pack. Darien Sunn - Almost the same group under a different name. Since Tommy isn't here, I should be. Malk - I really don't need someone watching my back, especially someone not insured by the CWA. Darien Sunn - We'll see about that. Malk - Look, my match is up next. I can handle Spade this week. Darien Sunn - Fine, sure, good luck. I'll stay back here.
Malk heads off for the ring while Sunn shakes his head. Ricky Simms - Two Canadians battling in front of a Canadian crowd. Henry Lesher - One is a wrestler and the other should be a shoe shine boy on a street corner. Spade knees Malk in the gut and then gives him a snap suplex to the mat. Spade then stands Malk up and gives him a slingshot suplex to the mat and goes for the early pin. 1...2... kick out by Malk. Spade then stands Malk up, whips him into the corner buckle and then gives him a hip toss back to the middle of the ring where he gives Malk a kick to the chest and then a swinging neckbreaker to the mat where he then rains down punches on Malk. Spade then stands Malk up and whips him off the ropes before giving him a dropkick back to the mat. Spade then goes to the ropes in the corner and quickly makes his way to the top. Spade goes for a Jack of All Spades early and Malk manages to roll out of the way to avoid the impact. Ricky Simms - Spade leaped off and found no one home as he hits the mat instead. Henry Lesher - The shoe shine boy is almost done, though. Malk uses the ropes to pull himself to his feet and then he starts landing punches and kicks on Jack Spade. He then stands Spade up before then giving him a gutwrench suplex to the mat. Malk then gives Spade a knee drop to the forehead and then he follows that up with an elbow smash to the chest before going for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Spade. Malk stands Spade up, whips him off the ropes and then shoulder blocks him down to the mat. Malk then goes to the corner, climbs to the second rope and then drops a double axe handle smash across the back of Spade. Malk then applies a sleeper hold on Spade and the crowd cheers. Ricky Simms - Malk looking to wear the former World champ down. Henry Lesher - He can try, but he'll always be a shoe shine boy to me. Spade refuses to submit when asked by the referee and then he reaches out for the ropes. Malk struggles to maintain the hold as Spade leans out, again reaching for the ropes. Spade then elbows Malk in the ribs a few times, weakening the hold and then lunges for and manages to grab the middle rope, forcing the break. Malk releases the hold and Spade quickly pulls himself out of the ring to the floor where he signals a timeout. Malk motions Spade back into the ring, but Spade refuses. Malk then makes his way to the top rope and looks to fly at Spade, but then thinks better of it and drops back down to the mat. Spade climbs onto the ring apron, slaps Malk across the face and then jumps back down to the floor. Ricky Simms - Cheap shot by Spade there. Henry Lesher - No it wasn't. If he slapped his mother in the face, that would be a cheap shot. Malk rolls himself out to the floor after Jack Spade. The two start trading punches to the head and then Spade whips Malk shoulder first into the guard railing. He then goes for a running kick to the head, but Malk grabs Jack's foot and pulls him down to the floor before he then applies a figure four leglock on Jack Spade. The crowd cheers, but the referee reaches a ten count and calls for the bell, ruling this a double count out. Ricky Simms - Neither man wins. How does this affect next week's Old School Title match? Henry Lesher - Malk's stupid enough to apply a figure four and get himself counted out? Spade gets the shot. We then hear "Come With Me" by Puff Daddy and Tony Parizi walks onto the stage with Paulie La Cerva, Tony with a microphone in hand. Tony Parizi - We agreed Moose has to defend his Old School title next week and that you two would decide who he faces. As neither man won, neither man technically lost and so we have to conclude you're equal. Next week at Overdrive... you know what? Moose will defend the Old School title against Malk and Jack Spade in two weeks at Pyrophoric. It will be an old fashioned triangle match where there are two pinfalls needed to win the belt. Next week, since you two are clearly bonding, you will tag up to face Tommy Purr and The Natural Blondes in a three on two handicap match. I know, Malk, you and Tommy are buddies. That's what makes this all the more interesting.
Tony and Paulie walk off, their music playing them out, as Spade
and Malk protest in vain from ringside. Vigilante - Watch where you're lurking there Frank. Frank Merritt - Nice work on Max earlier. Vigilante - Max isn't of any concern to me. I have a match now. Frank Merritt - With Gary Barber. Vigilante - Right. Frank Merritt - Of the EVC. Vigilante - Yeah, that would be the one. Look, this is a great chat, but I have a match to get to. Frank Merritt - Right, the main event and all. Vigilante - That's where I belong. It's time to squash an overrated wrestler.
Vigilante marches on while Frank looks down at the floor. Ricky Simms - Vig is wasting no time in going after Barber here. Henry Lesher - He knows what he is up against this week. Barber's a legend and so is Vig. Of course, Barber is the better legend. Vigilante picks Gary Barber up over his shoulder and runs him face first into the corner buckle. Vigilante then lands a power slam on Barber before going for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Barber. Vigilante then stands Barber up, whips him into the corner buckle and then gives him a monkey flip from there to the mat. Vigilante then stands Barber up and places him in an abdominal stretch. The referee checks for a submission, but Barber refuses to give up while the fans start a chant for Vigilante. Ricky Simms - Vig is always popular with the CWA fans. Henry Lesher - There have been so few actual wrestlers with talent, it's easy to remember them. Barber shows signs of powering out of the hold, so Vigilante releases him and then gives Barber a knee to the spine followed by a side Russian leg sweep to the mat and then he goes for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Barber. Vigilante then stands Barber up, whips him off the ropes and misses with a clothesline as Barber ducks it and then he gives Vigilante a clothesline to the mat instead. Barber then puts the boots to Vigilante before standing him up and whipping him into the corner. Barber then lands a series of shoulder blocks on Vigilante while chants for Vig get louder. Barber picks Vigilante up into a fireman's carry and then gives him a Samoan drop out of that before going for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Vigilante. Barber then applies an ankle lock submission hold on Vigilante who refuses to submit when asked by the referee. Ricky Simms - Barber is in control of the match at this point. Henry Lesher - That's because he is the better wrestler. Barber twists the ankle and says he wants to hear a snap. With his free foot, Vigilante kicks at Gary Barber, sending him backwards and freeing himself from the hold. Vigilante then does a kip up to his feet, ducks a clothesline and then hits a series of punches to the jaw on Barber before giving him an inverted atomic drop and then whips him off the ropes before giving him a spinebuster to the mat where he then goes for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Gary Barber. We then see Frank Merritt making his way down the ramp which draws boos from the crowd. Inside the ring, Vigilante stands Barber up, whips him off the ropes and then backdrops him to the mat. Frank Merritt stops at ringside and stands with his arms folded across his chest, apparently satisfied just to watch the action. Ricky Simms - Why is Frank out here? Henry Lesher - Frank is awesome. He can be wherever he wants to be. Get with the program, Rick. Vigilante stands Barber up, whips him off the ropes and then Barber crashes into the referee. Steve Blake goes down in a heap and Frank Merritt pulls himself onto the ring apron. He steps through the ropes into the ring and stands nose to nose with Vigilante. The two have words while Barber gets to his feet. Frank Merritt then turns and clocks Gary Barber with a fist which is covered in brass knuckles. Merritt drops and rolls himself out of the ring to the floor while a stunned audience cheers. Vigilante picks up Gary Barber and then gives him the Catch 22 to the mat while the referee comes to. 1.......2........3! Despite an extremely slow count by a half awake referee, Vigilante gets the win this week. Ricky Simms - Apparently, Frank isn't in EVC anymore and just put in his notice. Henry Lesher - That's the first stupid move I have seen Frank make. It has to be a result of Max getting knocked out by Vig earlier tonight. That's the only thing that makes any sense. Frank and Vigilante make their way up the ramp, the crowd cheering them on as we then see Paulie La Cerva coming onto the stage without Tony Parizi or music, but with a microphone in his hand. Paulie La Cerva - Well, that was quite the move there, Frank. Now, let's talk about next week's search for a number one contender. Next week, in a gauntlet match we will have Gary Barber, Max Cameron, Vigilante, Frank Merritt, Greyson Blaze, Hoshi Yakamoto, and The Mask. Everyone has an equal chance and may the best man win. Paulie heads off while Vigilante and Frank start to debate which of the two of them will win that match next week. Ricky Simms - That is really an incredible match we are going to have next week, the winner to face Tommy Purr in two weeks at Pyrophoric. Henry Lesher - It's good to know we'll have two solid main events in a row. That has to be a first. We fade to black as Vigilante and Frank stand on stage and the fans cheer them on. |
