April 1st, 2008 It's another packed house as we get set to watch the last Overdrive before Maximum Impact. We hear "Coming Undone" by Korn and see images of Tommy Purr, Frank Merritt, Jack Spade, 6Pac Dudley and Hoshi Yakamoto before we go to ringside where Henry Lesher and Ricky Simms are ready to call the action tonight. Kira Yakamoto vs. Jack Spade "Rocket Queen" by Guns N Roses plays as Kira Yakamoto comes out onto the stage and receives a mixed reaction from the crowd. She then paces on stage and then starts to make her way down the ramp. She then makes her way around the ring and she has a few words with some fans at ringside before she pulls herself onto the apron and then steps through the ropes into the ring. She then tests the ropes while her music fades and then we hear "King of the Stereo" by Saliva and the crowd is on their feet as we see Jack Spade stepping out onto the stage with the CWA title belt held high above his head. He then runs down the ramp to the ring and slides under the bottom rope into the ring where Kira greets him with an elbow to the back of the neck and then she goes for a cross face chicken wing while the referee calls for the belt to get the action officially underway. Ricky Simms - Kira is wasting no time in going for the upset. Henry Lesher - I am upset to see this match, too and I want it over fast. Jack manages to grab the bottom rope before Kira can get a strangle hold on him. He then uses the ropes to get to his feet, then turns and starts trading punches with Kira. Kira then thumbs Jack in the eye, whips him off the ropes and gives him a spinning heel kick which knocks him down to the mat where she goes for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Jack Spade. Kira then stands Jack up, whips him into the corner and then she charges straight into a clothesline to the mat from Jack. Jack then lands a knee to the chest on Kira before he hooks the leg for a pin attempt. 1...2... kick out by Kira Yakamoto. Jack then stands Kira up and then whips her through the ropes out to the floor. Ricky Simms - Jack is ready to turn this into a brawl. Henry Lesher - Have you seen the three men fighting to be number one contender? No matter who wins, he gets a brawl next week. Jack then rolls himself out to the floor and stands Kira up, then whips her shoulder first into the steel ring steps. Jack then rolls her back into the ring before rolling himself into the ring where he again tries for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Kira Yakamoto. Jack then stands Kira up, whips her off the ropes and then gives her a backdrop to the mat. Jack then goes to the ropes and quickly makes his way to the top. He goes for a 450 splash onto Kira, but she manages to roll out of the way and then she jumps to her feet. She places Jack Spade in an ankle lock submission hold and referee Casey Braun asks if Jack gives up, but the champ refuses. Jack then rolls himself over and uses his free foot to kick Kira away and then he springs to his feet where Kira gives him a super kick to the chin before she goes for the pin. 1...2... Jack gets a foot on the bottom rope. Ricky Simms - Wow, Kira was close there. That would throw the title picture into chaos if she won this match. Henry Lesher - Basically, it would leave everyone as the number one contender. Considering the shallow talent pool we have here, that might be fitting. Kira stands Jack up, whips him into the corner and then charges into a knee to the face from Jack who quickly jumps to the second rope and then gives Kira a spinning DDT to the mat before he goes for the pin. 1...2...3! Jack Spade wins narrowly over a game Kira Yakamoto this week. Ricky Simms - Jack with a very impressive move there to pull out the win. Henry Lesher - Jack Spade's time as champ is almost at an end. Ricky Simms - Well, any of Frank Merritt, Tommy Purr or 6Pac Dudley could pull out the win, for sure. As a victorious Jack Spade exits the ring and heads up the ramp, we look backstage where Crystal Braun is in Shannon Skanes' office. Crystal Braun - I am shocked by this, Shannon. I am at a loss for words. Shannon Skanes - I don't know what more you want me to do. Crystal Braun - Protect me from that madman. Shannon Skanes - We have security watching your every move. You are as protected as any one person can be. Crystal Braun - You heard my father's warning last week. If anything happens to me, he won't take it easy on you. Shannon Skanes - It won't come to that. Crystal Braun - For your sake, you had better hope that it doesn't. She storms out and we head back to the ring for more action. Hoshi Yakamoto vs. Bombshell vs. Kelly Buchanan "Piece of Me" by Britney Spears plays as Bombshell steps out onto the stage where she receives a mixed reaction from the crowd. She then quickly makes her way down the ramp and slips under the bottom rope into the ring where she then waits while her music fades and then we hear "Hero" by Ozzy Osbourne and Hoshi Yakamoto comes out to a loud ovation from the crowd. Hoshi then rushes down the ramp and slides under the bottom rope into the ring. She quickly gets to her feet and offers to shake hands with Bombshell. Bombshell accepts and then they both look towards the stage as the lights dim. We then hear "Rosenrot" by Rammstein and the lights go out completely. When they come back up, we see Vesuvius with Kelly Buchanan at ringside and she is attached to Vesuvius by a leash. Ricky Simms - I don't like the look of this. Henry Lesher - That's odd. Your wife says you have tons of this on your computer at home. Kelly is released by Vesuvius and she steps onto the apron. She looks terrified as she steps through the ropes into the ring. A concerned referee Mark Davis asks Kelly if she is okay to wrestle and she nods slowly while looking out at Vesuvius. The referee calls for the bell and Bombshell and Hoshi start trading punches. Hoshi then whips Bombshell off the ropes and gives her a dropkick to the mat. Hoshi then jumps to her feet and looks towards Kelly. She moves towards Kelly and almost delivers a clothesline, but she holds back. Instead, she turns towards Bombshell who is now on her feet and Bombshell gives Hoshi a clothesline to the mat. Bombshell then goes towards Kelly, but she is unable to make a move against her either. Instead, she asks Kelly if she is okay. Ricky Simms - I don't see how this match can continue. Henry Lesher - Leave it to Kelly to ruin a match without lifting a finger. Hoshi and Bombshell look towards each other and then they deliver a baseball slide on a shocked Vesuvius outside the ring. They then stand Vesuvius up and give him a double chin kick that sends him falling to the floor. Kelly Buchanan drops and rolls herself out to the floor and covers Vesuvius in a protective manner while Bombshell and Hoshi both plead with her to back off and free herself. Ricky Simms - Kelly is really out of it. Henry Lesher - I have to admit I agree with both Yvonne and Hoshi here. Kelly has her chance to make a run for it and she is protecting her captor. Kelly stands next to Vesuvius and she shakes her head when Bombshell asks her to leave with her and Tommy. Hoshi makes an offer to Kelly as well and Kelly refuses that. The referee inside the ring gives up on this match advancing further and calls for the bell, declaring this battle to be a no contest. Outside the ring, Hoshi and Bombshell continue their efforts to get Kelly Buchanan away from Vesuvius, but their words fall on deaf ears. Bombshell is the first to turn away and head up the ramp while Hoshi tries a few moments longer to talk some sense into Kelly. Ricky Simms - This is one of the oddest scenes I can recall seeing. Henry Lesher - Considering what you have downloaded over the years, that is quite the statement, Rick. Hoshi finally gives up and she starts up the ramp while Kelly Buchanan then turns to Vesuvius and helps him to his feet. Vesuvius then grabs Kelly by the hair and starts to scream at her. He points towards the retreating Hoshi and then points at a chair at ringside. He then drags her by the hair out into the crowd and then through the crowd towards the exit while he continues to scream at her. Ricky Simms - Vesuvius expected her to hit Hoshi with a chair? Henry Lesher - It might make me a fan. Vesuvius is onto something there. While fans boo Vesuvius and security struggles to hold enraged fans back while Kelly cries and is pulled by the hair to the parking lot, we look backstage where Ray Dees is rushing into the office of Shannon Skanes. Ray Dees - Have you seen Crystal? Shannon Skanes - I saw her earlier. Ray Dees - Yeah, we know about that, but she is not in her dressing room and she wasn't there to interview Frank Merritt tonight. Shannon Skanes - Dammit.... He rushes out the door with Ray and we head back to the ring for the main event. Frank Merritt vs. Tommy Purr vs. 6Pac Dudley "Southtown" by POD plays as 6Pac Dydley comes out onto the stage, already fighting with Frank Merritt. Frank blocks a punch from 6Pac and then gives him a head butt that staggers him before giving him a clothesline to the steel stage. Frank then picks 6Pac up and runs him face first into the side of the archway they just fought their way through. Frank then gives 6Pac a power slam to the steel stage before he starts choking 6Pac out. Tommy Purr then comes out onto the stage and has a few words for Frank. They stands 6Pac up and gives him a double vertical suplex to the steel stage. They then make their way down the ramp and both men pull themselves onto the apron before they step through the ropes into the ring. Ricky Simms -The tag team champions appear to have worked together to deal with 6Pac. Henry Lesher - I love them even more for that. I really do. Tommy and Frank then have words with referee Steve Blake, stating the match should start between them as 6Pac is not fit to continue here. The referee refuses and points towards the fallen 6Pac and says that he is a part of this match and it does not start until he is inside the ring. Frank then shakes his head while Tommy exits the ring and heads up the ramp towards 6Pac. He stands 6Pac up only to take a jawbreaker from 6Pac. 6Pac then gives Tommy a spine buster to the stage and then starts ramming his head into the steel while Frank quickly leaves the ring and rushes towards the fight. 6Pac gets to his feet and ducks a clothesline from Frank and then gives him a DDT to the steel stage. 6Pac then shakes his head a few times and then runs down the ramp and slides into the ring where the crowd greets him with a loud cheer. Ricky Simms - 6Pac is showing how tough he is and how badly he wants that title shot after beating Jack Spade last week in a huge upset. Henry Lesher - 6Pac is a loser. He is not champion material and Frank and Tommy will kill him in this match. Ricky Simms - Yeah, looks good so far. Tommy Purr staggers down the ramp and then rolls himself into the ring where 6Pac greets him with a knee to the gut. 6Pac then stands Tommy up and gives him a bulldog to the mat before going for the pin. Referee Steve Blake then explains that this match has not started since Frank is not inside the ring with them. This match starts once all three men are inside the ring at the same time. 6Pac rolls himself out to the floor and heads up the ramp to a bloodied Frank Merritt. 6Pac steps in and takes a thumb to the eye from Frank who then gives 6Pac an inverted atomic drop. Frank then picks 6Pac up over his shoulder and carries him to ringside. As they reach ringside, 6Pac slides off Frank's shoulder and then shoves him head first into the steel corner post. 6Pac then gives Frank a German suplex to the floor. Both men then lie on the floor while Tommy Purr rolls himself out of the ring. Ricky Simms - This is a bloody street fight. Henry Lesher - I have no problem with that, Rick. We need a fight after the crap we have been forced to sit through tonight. I mean, this show sucks and this could redeem it. Tommy stands 6Pac up and rolls him into the ring. He then stands Frank up and, unaware of who is helping him up, Frank gives Tommy a vicious clothesline to the floor. Frank then sees that he has decked his tag team partner. He then helps Tommy up and takes a clothesline to the floor from Tommy. Ricky Simms - We have a battle brewing between the tag team champions here! Henry Lesher - I love this! This can last all night! Ricky Simms - Technically, this match has not started yet. Tommy rolls Frank into the ring before rolling himself into the ring. Tommy then gets rolled into a small package by a rested 6Pac Dudley as the match officially starts. 1...2...3! 6Pac Dudley is the number one contender! The crowd cheers while 6Pac rolls himself out to the floor and Dex and Rex Cooper rush out to congratulate him on his win this week. Inside the ring, Tommy is shocked and argues with the referee that he wasn't ready. Tommy then spits at the referee before he leans back against the ropes and watches as the MSK members celebrate their big win here tonight. Ricky Simms - 6Pac took advantage and overcame all odds in this one! Henry Lesher - I want to kill myself. Ricky Simms - Next week, 6Pac gets his title match! Henry Lesher - I want to kill myself. Ricky Simms - Tune in next week, fans and see if the Aerial champ can become the CWA champ! Henry Lesher - I wish I were dead. We fade to black on 6Pac celebrating with his partners and shaking hands with excited fans while he makes his way to the back and the tag team champions wonder how the hell any of this is happening right now. |
