June 22nd, 2008 Edition We hear "Our Truth" by
Lacuna Coil as images of Tommy Purr, Jack Spade, Hoshi Yakamoto,
Thibor Dragosani, 6Pac Dudley, Max Cameron, Gerard Angelo, Myst, Eli
Ryder and Steve Hawkins pass by the screen before we tale a look
backstage. Hoshi walks into the
parking lot of the arena, ahead of her big match. She moves forwards
but then stops in her tracks. A familiar face confronting her. Team Anarchy vs. Team Purr "Rosenrot" by Rammstein plays as Kelly Buchanan and Vesuvius step out onto the stage and the crowd gives them a mixed reaction as they make their way towards the ring. Kelly rolls herself under the bottom rope into the ring while Vesuvius takes his place at ringside and paces there for a few moments. Their music fades and we hear "Crazy Bitch" by Buckcherry and Tommy Purr leads Bombshell onto the stage. They get a warm response from the crowd, Tommy holding the CWA title above his head as he walks to the ring. Ricky Simms - This is the first week we have seen his as champ since the pay per view. Henry Lesher - It's a thing of beauty. Frank Merritt - Hey, if I can't be champ, it might as well be Tommy. As Tommy and Bombshell step into the ring, Vesuvius grabs the microphone from ring announcer Kosmic Kitty. Vesuvius - I have retired. You two don't get that. Kelly here won't be wrestling alone, though. He throws the microphone back to Kosmic Kitty and "All Hallow's Eve" by Type O Negative plays as Kindred leads Orlock onto the stage, the crowd greeting him with loud boos. Kindred quickly makes his way to ringside and has a few words of strategy with Vesuvius while Orlock plods towards the ring. Orlock pulls himself onto the apron and then steps over the top rope into the ring while Kelly exits the ring and Tommy Purr gets to start the match, referee Mark Davis calling for the bell. Ricky Simms - Vesuvius opts not to wrestle here. Henry Lesher - He makes a good point. He is retired. Frank Merritt - He is also retarded. A few letters difference, but it fits him. Tommy moves in and locks in a test of strength with Orlock. Quickly, Orlock starts shoving Tommy backward into the ropes where Tommy forces the break. Orlock backs off and Tommy gives him a chop block to the knee and then quickly pulls the feet out from under him. Tommy then goes for a Boston Crab, but Orlock then grabs the ropes and it is his turn to force the break before he pulls himself out of the ring to the floor. Orlock paces on the floor while Kindred goes over to say a few words to him and Tommy rolls himself out of the ring, impatient to get the fight going again. Tommy shoves Kindred out of the way and then gives Orlock a head butt before ramming his face into the ring apron and then whips Orlock shoulder first into the steel corner post before rolling Orlock, then himself, back into the ring. Tommy then goes for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Orlock. Ricky Simms - I thought Tommy had it there. Henry Lesher - Slow count. Frank Merritt - Tommy is showing some of the killer instinct that he has taken from his time with me. Ricky Simms - I am pretty sure he had it before then. Frank Merritt - You're a naive little man then. Tommy stands Orlock up, whips him into the corner buckle and then gives him a clothesline there before he gives him a bulldog to the mat and again goes for the pin. 1...2... Orlock rolls a shoulder out. Tommy then goes to his corner and tags in Bombshell as Orlock rolls to his corner and tags in Kelly. The two divas charge at one another and start brawling, taking each other down in a choke hold and slamming each other's heads into the mat. The referee pries them apart and Kelly rolls herself out to the floor while Bombshell gets to her feet and screams at Kelly who is with Kindred and Vesuvius on the floor. Kelly has a few words whispered into her ear by Vesuvius and she nods. Ricky Simms - Vesuvius may not be in this fight, but he is the one controlling it. Frank Merritt - Tommy needs to turn his lights out then. Kelly pulls herself onto the apron and ducks a punch from Bombshell before giving her a shoulder block between the ropes. Kelly then steps into the ring and gives Bombshell a thumb to the eye before raking her eyes along the top rope. Kelly then whips Bombshell to her corner where Orlock gives Bombshell a vicious head butt that sends her to the mat and causes Tommy to race into the ring and at Orlock. Tommy pulls Orlock over the top rope into the ring while Kelly stands Bombshell up and the referee tries to get things straight. Vesuvius then throws a chair into the ring to Kelly Buchanan who smiles. She winds up with the chair, starts to follow through and Bombshell super kicks the chair into the face of Kelly before going for the pin. 1...2...3! Team Purr gets the win and Kindred is inside the ring before they have a chance to celebrate. Ricky Simms - Here we go. Frank Merritt - And here I go... Frank tosses the headset aside as Kindred starts putting the boots to Bombshell. Frank slides into the ring, a chair in hand and chases off both Orlock and Kindred, leaving Kelly inside the ring, still fallen from the chair shot. Frank spits in the direction of Vesuvius and then turns back to Kelly and points at her while she starts to get to her feet. Frank then turns and drills Kelly in the head with the chair before he drops and rolls himself back out to the floor. Vesuvius grabs Kelly by the feet and pulls her out of the ring. He then places her over his shoulder and starts to walk her up the ramp. Ricky Simms - I don't think she deserved that. Henry Lesher - I love Frank so much. He is so bad ass. Ricky Simms - Bad ass? Did you just say that? Henry Lesher - If I were going to pray at night, I would pray to Frank. I mean, he gets things done. When did God have the nerve to hit Kelly with a chair? Ricky Simms - I am moving my chair away from you now. As Vesuvius makes his way up the ramp, he is jumped by a fan from the crowd. The fan grabs Kelly off his shoulder and then carries her out while Kindred and Orlock take up the chase. Ricky Simms - What the hell just happened? Frank Merritt - *returning to his seat* I just cold-cocked a bitch in the face. Ricky Simms - Some fan just took Kelly. Frank Merritt - I think everyone has taken Kelly at least once. Vesuvius is screaming
into the crowd as security rushes out to try and gain control over
this situation. We look away from this to the parking lot. Looking
in the parking lot we can see Jack Spade arriving to the arena,
Holding his duffle bag. He is clearly still a little down from
losing the World Championship. Ray Dees sees him from across the
parking lot and intends to catch up with Jack. Eli Ryder vs. Hoshi Yakamoto "Hero" by Ozzy Osbourne plays as Hoshi Yakamoto makes her way towards the ring. The crowd gives her a loud cheer as she reaches ringside and she high fives fans as she makes her way around the ring once before she slides under the bottom rope into the ring. She then perches herself on the top rope in the corner and smiles for the fans. She then leaps off the top to the ring as her music fades and we hear "Rise Above This" by Seether and Eli Ryder comes out to a more muted response than Hoshi enjoyed. Eli has Kira at his side and she looks a little nervous as she walks with Eli to the ring. Eli pauses at ringside and looks in at Hoshi before he pulls himself onto the apron. He then steps through the ropes into the ring and referee Steve Blake calls for the bell. Ricky Simms - This should be a fantastic match. Frank Merritt - What are you basing that on? Henry Lesher - He's not like us, Frank. He doesn't know what quality is. Eli and Hoshi move in and lock up. Eli then shoves Hoshi into the corner buckle and backs off, allowing her to step back to the middle of the ring where they move in and lock up again. Hoshi breaks that and gives Eli a series of knife edge chops to the chest that drives him to the ropes. Hoshi then whips Eli off the ropes and gives him a dropkick that sends him back down to the mat. Hoshi then goes to the ropes and quickly makes her way to the top before leaping off, going for a flying elbow smash on the fallen Eli, but he manages to roll out of the way. Eli then uses the ropes to get to his feet, then stands Hoshi up, whips her off the ropes and gives her a backdrop to the mat before he gives her a knee drop to the forehead and then goes for the quick pin. 1...2... kick out by Hoshi. Eli then stands Hoshi up, whips her off the ropes and misses with a clothesline as she ducks it, comes off the ropes again and both wrestlers give each other a clothesline to the mat, causing the referee to start counting them both down. Ricky Simms - Great moves here early on by both wrestlers. Henry Lesher - A real lack of finish by both. Frank Merritt - Was that great when I clocked Kelly in the face or what? How can I top that? On the four count, both Hoshi and Eli kip up to their feet. They then lock up again, Eli quickly backing Hoshi into the corner. He then takes a step back and then gives Hoshi a series of shoulder blocks in the corner before placing her over his shoulder and giving her a power slam to the mat. Eli then hooks the leg for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Hoshi. Eli then stands Hoshi up, whips her off the ropes and she leap frogs him and then gives him a standing dropkick to the mat. She then goes to the top rope again and waits for Eli to stand before she goes for a flying body press. He catches her in mid-air, gives her a spinning power slam to the mat and she uses that momentum to reverse it into a small package pin attempt. 1...2... kick out by Eli and he rolls out of the ring to the floor. Ricky Simms - Some close calls here. Henry Lesher - Everyone is leaving early to beat the traffic. Frank Merritt - Can we get a replay of me knocking Kelly out? Eli paces on the floor for a few moments while the referee starts counting him out. He nods towards Kira to let her know he's fine before he pulls himself onto the apron and then steps back through the ropes into the ring. Eli then locks up with Hoshi and she kicks him in the gut before she gives him a forearm smash to the jaw and then a side Russian leg sweep to the mat where she goes for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Eli who then rolls her into a small package. 1...2...3! Eli pulls off the win narrowly over Hoshi here. Ricky Simms - Some luck and skill mix to get Eli the win this week. I don't think that will end the fight between these two wrestlers. Frank Merritt - I doubt anyone cares except you, Rick. Eli gets to his feet as Hoshi gets to her feet and the two stand face to face. They pause there and then they both turn away, drop and roll out of opposite sides of the ring. Ricky Simms - The respect appears to be there between them, but as I said, I doubt this fight is over. Henry Lesher - I echo Frank's sentiment on the matter. Ricky Simms - Fans, don't miss next week's edition of Overdrive, the last of the month of June as we start to look towards Sunstroke which is always a party! We fade to black as a victorious Eli and Kira walk arm in arm up the ramp, only a few steps behind Hoshi. |
