June 29, 2008

It's another capacity crowd as we get ready for the latest edition of CWA's Overdrive. We hear "Evolution" by Korn as we see images of Gerard Angelo, Max Cameron, Eli Ryder, Myst, Tommy Purr, Bombshell, 6Pac Dudley, Jack Spade and Hoshi Yakamoto before we head to ringside where Ricky Simms, Henry Lesher and Frank Merritt are ready to call tonight's action. Before the action gets started, we look backstage where Ray Dees is with Kathy Smith.

Ray Dees - Kathy, last week a fan kidnapped Kelly Buchanan and no one has seen her since. Now, you're here. We have to wonder if there is a connection.

Kathy Smith - Well, I am here to announce something tonight inside that ring. I have no connection to what happened to Kelly, though from what I understand, it was a blessing for her.

Ray Dees - What would you be here to announce?

Kathy Smith - Look, I didn't come here to tell you before I hit the ring. Let's just say that Myst's return to action has inspired me a little. Maybe it's time the diva factor got cranked up a little in the CWA.

Ray Dees - Well, there is the Diva title...

Kathy Smith - Oh, I know all about that, Ray. Just wait for it. I always make a big splash.

She walks away and we head to the ring.

Myst vs. Gerard Angelo

"Battle Hymn" by Senses Fail plays as Gerard Angelo comes out to a mixed response from the crowd. He stands on stage for a few moments, nodding his head to the music before he continues to make his way towards the ring. Gerard then steps onto the apron before he steps through the ropes into the ring. He then leans back against the ropes as his music fades and we hear "A Place For My Head" by Linkin Park and we see Myst come out to a loud ovation from the crowd. She then runs down the ramp towards the ring, slides under the bottom rope into the ring and pulls the feet out from under Gerard before he has a chance to attack. Referee Casey Braun calls for the bell and the match is officially under way. Gerard takes a series of punches to the head from Myst before he pulls himself out of the ring to the floor in an effort to get a break. Myst slips out to the floor after him and gives him a standing dropkick that sends him falling backwards to the floor.

Ricky Simms - Myst, in her return to action after a long hiatus, looks good so far in this one.

Henry Lesher - Gerry looks like he is a Shmelky Brother tonight.

Frank Merritt - Oh that isn't Shengee? From here, all jobbers look the same.

Myst stands Gerard up and rams his head into the apron before she rolls him into the ring and then rolls herself into the ring. She then tries to apply the Mystifyer, but Gerard manages to grab the bottom rope to force the break. Casey forces Myst to release Gerard and then Myst jumps to her feet and has a few unkind words for the referee. She then stands Gerard up and takes a thumb to the eye from Angelo.

Ricky Simms - She took her attention off Gerry and he takes advantage.

Henry Lesher - Gerry always wanted to take advantage of the boss's wife.

Frank Merritt - Gerry takes advantage of everything. That's why I don't let him watch my dog anymore.

Gerard rakes Myst's eyes on the top rope and then he whips her off the ropes before giving her a clothesline to the mat. He then goes to the ropes and makes his way to the top while the crowd starts a chant for Myst. Gerard tells them to shut up, then jumps off and misses with a flying elbow smash as Myst rolls out of the way. Myst then kips up to her feet, then uses the ropes to execute a lionsault onto the fallen Gerard Angelo before she hooks the leg for the pin attempt. 1...2... kick out by Gerard Angelo.

Ricky Simms - Close call there.

Henry Lesher - Gerry is proof that Shmelk never wins.

Frank Merritt - Hopefully, it never reproduces either.

Myst stands Gerard Angelo up, whips him off the ropes and he ducks a clothesline and gives Myst a reverse neck breaker to the mat. He then goes for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Myst. Gerard then stands Myst up, whips her off the ropes and this time she ducks the clothesline, then gives Gerard a side Russian leg sweep to the mat before rolling him over and applying the Mystifyer for the second time in the match. Gerard reaches for the ropes, but he is in the middle of the ring this time. He reaches again, refuses to submit when asked by the referee and then reaches again before opting to tap out. The bell sounds, but Myst refuses to release the hold at first when she hears the bell. Casey Braun then physically pulls her off of Gerard Angelo. Myst then rolls out of the ring to the floor and starts making her way up the ramp when we hear "Piece Of Me" by Britney Spears and Bombshell steps out onto the stage with the new CWA Diva title over her shoulder. She makes her way down the ramp and pauses to stand nose to nose with Myst. They appear ready to come to blows, but Bombshell marches the rest of the way to the ring instead. She then rolls herself into the ring and gets to her feet as Gerard Angelo gets to his feet as well. He isn't up for long as Bombshell hits him with the Bitch Kick right to the jaw and sends him back to the mat.

Ricky Simms - Gerry isn't having a good night.

Henry Lesher - He really is Shmelk now.

Frank Merritt - He might be a notch below it now.

Bombshell gets a microphone tossed to her inside the ring by ring announcer Kosmic Kitty.

Bombshell - This week, the CWA announced there would be a match for the belt over my shoulder. Instead, it became my coming out party as no one else had the guts to make an attempt to become champ. I am surprised and flattered by this, of course. I wanted a win by pinfall or submission, but I win because I can only assume the rest of the divas on this roster are scared of me. If I am wrong, ladies, step up to the plate. Until someone does, I will simply have to believe I am too much for any of you. If you don't want my title belt, I will take that as an insult and you'll all be on my hit list. Believe me, that's the last thing you want.

She tosses the microphone back to Kosmic Kitty and then leaves the ring, holding the belt above her head as she makes her way up the ramp and then heads backstage.

Ricky Simms - What's going to happen next?

Henry Lesher - I stopped caring when Myst won.

Frank Merritt - When did the CWA become GLOW?

The arena goes black and at the same moment air raid sirens begin the bawl of warning. On the big screen, images of the Third Reich marching and tanks rolling into Tiananmen Square while the loan stupid stood his ground before the screen goes black. The lights come back up and the sirens slowly fall into silence.

Ricky Simms - What in the blue Hell was that?

Frank Merritt - Damned if I know!

Henry Lesher - I have a pretty good idea but I'm going to keep it to myself for the time being...

Ricky Simms - Someone you know?

Henry Lesher - Let's just say an old patient of mine.....

Frank Merritt - Somehow I don't think that's a good thing, Doc.

Henry Lesher - If it is, things are bound to get mighty interesting, that's for sure.

Eli Ryder vs. 6Pac Dudley

"Name of the Game" by Crystal Method plays as Eli Ryder makes his way towards the ring, the crowd giving him a warm reception. Eli rolls himself into the ring and then he tests the ropes while his music fades and then we hear "Southtown" by POD and 6Pac comes out to a loud ovation from the crowd. He runs down the ramp to the ring, slides under the bottom rope into the ring and the two start brawling as referee Mark Davis calls for the bell to get the match officially started.

Ricky Simms - Thibor didn't show up for this one, so the winner of this match will be the new Aerial title champion.

Henry Lesher - A title that is one rung below the new diva title.

Ricky Simms - Interestingly, these men are both set to compete for number one contender status against Max Cameron once this match is over, though Kathy Smith's announcement will be in between the two.

Frank Merritt - You're telling me I can leave then, because there is jack and shit left to happen tonight.

6Pac and Eli brawl inside the ring, landing numerous punches on one another. They then roll right out to the floor, still brawling. Eli then gets to his feet and gives 6Pac a kick to the ribs before he has a chance to stand. Eli then whips 6Pac into the guard railing ribs first before he then rolls him back into the ring, then himself. Eli and 6Pac get to their feet. Eli gives him an eye gouge, then whips him into the corner buckle and lands a series of shoulder smashes on him there. Eli then gives 6Pac a whip to the opposite corner and charges at 6Pac for another shoulder block, but takes a kick to the face from 6Pac instead who then gives Eli a spear to the mat and then goes for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Eli Ryder.

Ricky Simms - Tremendous action so far in this one.

Frank Merritt - You must find soccer fascinating. It's almost as exciting as this.

Ricky Simms - There is nothing wrong with soccer.

Henry Lesher - Further proof you have no taste.

Frank Merritt - Well, he does. It's just all bad.

6Pac then stands Ryder up, whips him off the ropes and gives him a backdrop to the mat followed by a leg drop across the throat. 6Pac again goes for the pin. 1...2... kick out by Eli. 6Pac then stands Eli up, whips him into the corner buckle and then gives him a knee to the gut and then sets for a DDT, but Eli stands up and gives 6Pac a backdrop to the mat. Eli then gives 6Pac a knee drop to the forehead and then gives him a kick to the chest before standing him up, whipping him off the ropes and giving him a dropkick down to the mat. Eli then goes to the corner and makes his way to the top. Eli leaps off and misses with a flying leg drop as 6Pac rolls out of the way and then uses the ropes to quickly get to his feet. He then puts the boots to Eli who rolls out of the ring to the floor in an effort to break 6Pac's momentum.

Ricky Simms - Great back and forth action between these evenly matches foes.

Frank Merritt - I am sure the three fans who tuned in are excited.

Henry Lesher - They would be. It's probably Ryder's family watching.

6Pac takes a few steps back and then gives Ryder a flying body press through the ropes, sending him crashing into the guard railing. 6Pac then stands Eli up, places him in a headlock and then gives him a springboard bulldog from the railing to the floor. 6Pac then stands Eli up and rolls him into the ring, then himself before he goes for the pin. 1...2... Ryder gets a foot on the bottom rope. 6Pac then stands Eli up, whips him off the ropes and gives him a clothesline to the mat and then a leg drop before he goes to the top rope. He waits for Eli to stand and then goes for a flying body press on Eli. Eli catches 6Pac and rolls him into a small package for the pin, but 6Pac uses the ropes to reverse the pin and holds the rope as the referee counts, not seeing the infraction. 1...2...3! 6Pac has won back the CWA Aerial title with a controversial win over Eli Ryder!

Ricky Simms - I don't necessarily agree with how he did it, but 6Pac is once again the Aerial champ.

Henry Lesher - Further proof no one will ever care for his title.

Frank Merritt - Well, he does.

Henry Lesher - Right, no one.

Frank Merritt - Ah, touché.

6Pac leaves the ring and grabs his title belt from the time keeper as Eli gets to his feet, a sarcastic grin on his face. He watches 6Pac retreat up the ramp and shakes his head, saying he will get the last laugh tonight. Eli then drops and rolls out of the ring before he exits down the aisle next to the ramp. The arena then goes dark for a few moments and then the lights come up again, bathing the arena in a pink glow as we hear "Gold Dust Woman" by Hole and Kathy Smith comes out onto the stage. She gets a loud cheer from the fans. She then makes her way down the ramp, then she climbs onto the ring apron before stepping through the ropes into the ring. She already has a microphone in her hand.

Kathy Smith - I'd like to start off by congratulating 6Pac on winning back his title belt. I would also caution him that Eli looked like the dog with the shifty eyes after he lost that match, so he had better watch his back in the next match tonight, the main event. Oh, hey, I could congratulate Bombshell on her default win. I could do that, but I will take issue with something she said. No diva is scared of her and tonight, I add contenders for her to face.

A spotlight is then turned on that highlights the stage area and another that highlights Kathy while the rest of the lighting in the arena fades to black.

Kathy Smith - Tonight will mark the return of the Glamour Girls. Tonight will mark a new chapter for the Glamour Girls. Tonight, I present to you... the NEW Glamour Girls.

"Like Me" by Girlicious plays as Jen Hawkins, Olivia Maine, and Lauren Strong step out onto the stage. The three get a warm response from the crowd and they wave to the fans.

Kathy Smith - It was time for the Glamour Girls to evolve and this time it is about stepping out of long shadows. Lauren is tired of being known as Scavenger's wife. Jen Hawkins is tired of being known as Steve's wife. Olivia Maine is tired of being hidden as Ingee Shmelky's wife. This time around, the Glamour Girls are all about celebrating a woman's right to do what she wants.

As the fans applaud Kathy, well the female fans anyway, Steve Hawkins, Scavenger and Ingee Shmelky come out onto the stage together and start arguing with their wives. Kathy then drops and rolls out of the ring to the floor and she starts up the ramp towards the melee only to take a flying clothesline to the ramp from Vesuvius, who has taken advantage of the dark to sneak through the crowd. Vesuvius then picks Kathy up and tosses her off the ramp to the concrete floor before demanding to know where Kelly is. Scavenger and Hawkins charge down the ramp at Vesuvius while Orlock and Kindred come out onto the stage, Kindred giving Jen Hawkins a clothesline to the stage while Orlock gives Maine and Strong a double choke slam to the stage. They then march down the ramp and attack Hawkins and Scavenger from behind while security finally shows up on the scene to break things up.

Ricky Simms - This is disgusting and typical of Anarchy Inc.

Frank Merritt - Hey, Vesuvius is just looking for his whorish property.

Ricky Simms - She is not his property.

Henry Lesher - Watch it or he'll think you grabbed her off.

As security continues its efforts to restore order, we look backstage and see Myst entering Shannon's office.

Myst - I won my match.

Shannon Skanes - Yeah, I saw that.

Myst - Doesn't that prove anything to you?

Shannon Skanes - You know, it might. I haven't made up my mind yet, though.

Myst - Don't be a prick.

Shannon Skanes - Did you see that Glamour Girls announcement and the Anarchy attack? I am so booking a big match next week to settle that.

Myst - Don't change the subject.

Shannon Skanes - It is always great to see you, dear.

Myst - Don't call me dear.

Shannon Skanes - Light of my life?

Myst - Whatever.

She storms out of his office and we return to the ring for the main event.

#1 Contender Match
Eli Ryder vs. Max Cameron vs. 6Pac Dudley

"Southtown" by POD plays as 6Pac comes out onto the stage for the second time tonight, this time with the Aerial Title once again over his shoulder. As 6Pac makes his way down the ramp, he is attacked from behind by Eli who spins him around and gives him a clothesline to the ramp before laying the boots to him. Eli then stands 6Pac up, places him in a headlock and drags him down to ringside before whipping him shoulder first into the steel ring steps. He then rolls 6Pac into the ring before rolling himself in and then he places 6Pac's throat over the bottom rope and chokes him with it while "Hell's Bells" by AC/DC plays and Max Cameron steps out onto the stage with a smile on his face. The crowd gives Max the usual mixed reaction.

Frank Merritt - I feel the urge to kill rising...

Ricky Simms - Max Cameron looks pleased with what he is seeing inside the ring as his two opponents wear each other down after already fighting each other just moments ago.

Max makes his way down the ramp and then slowly climbs onto the apron while referee Steve Blake pries Eli Ryder off of 6Pac. As Max steps into the ring, the bell sounds to start the match and Max stands nose to nose with Eli. The two have a few words as 6Pac gets to his feet behind Eli. 6Pac then gives Eli a round house kick to the back of the head and then 6Pac tosses Eli through the ropes and out to the floor which allows Max to get the jump on 6Pac, giving him a series of knife edge chops to the chest. Max then whips 6Pac into the corner buckle and then gives him a backdrop to the mat from there. Max then lands an elbow smash across the throat on 6Pac and goes for the pin. 1...2... kick out by 6Pac as Eli rolls himself back into the ring.

Ricky Simms - Max is the fresher wrestler in this match, so he would have to have an advantage here.

Frank Merritt - He would if he didn't suck so bad, but he does.

Henry Lesher - Took the words right out of my mouth.

Max stands 6Pac up, then Eli takes a hold of both opponents and slams their heads together. Eli then gives Max an inverted atomic drop and then gives 6Pac a clothesline to the mat. Eli then picks Max up and slams him on top of the fallen 6Pac and then stands Max up, whips him into the corner buckle and then gives him a monkey flip back to the middle of the ring. Eli then gets to his feet and stands face to face with 6Pac Dudley. They have a few words and then they start trading knife edge chops. 6Pac then thumbs Eli in the eye and then gives him a vertical suplex to the mat. 6Pac then gets to his feet and stands face to face now with Max. He knee Max in the gut, sets him for a suplex and Max blocks it before giving 6Pac a vertical suplex to the mat. Max then stands 6Pac up, whips him off the ropes and gives him a shoulder block to the mat. Max then stands 6Pac up, whips him into the corner buckle and then sets him on the top rope before he climbs to the top as well. He sets 6Pac for a superplex, but 6Pac gives Max a series of punches to the gut. Eli then moves in, places Max on his shoulders and then gives him an electric chair to the mat. 6Pac then lands a frog splash onto Max and hooks the leg for the pin. 1...2... Eli pulls 6Pac off of Max Cameron.

Ricky Simms - 6Pac nearly had his second win of the night there.

Frank Merritt - Pinning Max shouldn't count.

Henry Lesher - Agreed.

Eli whips 6Pac off the ropes and gives him a knee to the gut and then gives him a swinging neck breaker to the mat. Eli then rolls 6Pac into a small package, holding the bottom rope out of the referee's view. 1...2...3! Eli Ryder wins and is the number one contender for the CWA world title. Eli rolls himself out of the ring and starts making his way up the ramp. Max Cameron slowly gets to his feet, realizing what just happened and he turns to 6Pac and gives him a knee to the face before he then gives him a DDT to the mat.

Ricky Simms - Eli wins and Max isn't happy.

Frank Merritt - Let me congratulate Max.

Frank leaves the announce table as Max rolls himself out of the ring. He then taps Max on the shoulder before giving him a spear to the floor. Frank then stands Max up, and then gives him a brain buster on the floor before he then returns to his broadcast position.

Henry Lesher - I loved that.

Frank Merritt - Had to adjust my headset.

Ricky Simms - That was uncalled for.

Frank Merritt - Hey, I want certain people to know I am still here and I am not going away.

Ricky Simms - Like cancer.

Frank Merritt - Sure, whatever you like Rick. As long Max Cameron has a job here, I will make his life a living hell. He's the reason I am sitting here instead of destroying people inside the ring. I can't let him off the hook.

Henry Lesher - Agreed.

Ricky Simms - Well, as medics come out to attend to Max, we bid you farewell for another edition of Overdrive. Eli is the number one contender, so how will Tommy Purr respond to this? How does 6Pac react to Eli's revenge for the minor cheat used to win the Aerial title?

Henry Lesher - Eli outsmarted 6Pac. Big deal.

Frank Merritt - That's like winning a race in the Special Olympics. Even if you win, you're still...

Ricky Simms - Okay, enough of that Frank. See you next week everyone.

We fade to black as Eli heads off towards the backstage area, the only man standing following his match.
