[[ The camera spins around, revealing the smirking face of Edge. He looks almost crazed, the look in his eye is a distant one, as if he were looking through us right now. ]]

Edge:  Failure is not an option, it's not even worth contemplating. You can beat him, yeah, you can finish him for good. First match in years, heh, last match ever more like.

[[ He seems to snap out of whatever trance he was just in, a cocky look coming across his face. A look that we're more used to when watching this man. ]]

Edge: Yeah, you heard me right. Do you think being thrown in the ring against The Rock is something I should be concerned about? I mean, seriously, I'd have beat him back when he was in his prime. I'm excited. I mean, this is the biggest stage I could ever be given. Wrestlemania Entertainment, a legacy which will live forever. It's only right that I stake my claim, as one of the greatest to ever grace this company. This is an opportunity that I've longed for.. dreamed of for many years. I'm going to prove to everyone, that I am as good as I claim to be. I'm pleased that people want to see this match, that people are actually taking an interest in this match, even if it's only to see that idiot. I'm pleased because it means that you'll be watching, that you'll all see what I do to a wrestling icon. The Rock has had his day, he should have stuck with the film making..

[[ He pauses for a moment, pulling a thinking face. ]]

Edge: .. No matter how bad they were.

[[ Cheap shot. ]] 

Edge: I have to ask the question: Do you even want this? Really? Do you want to put your body on the line once again, do you? CAN you?

[[ Edge raises a quizzical eyebrow, just like The Rock. ]]

Edge: I doubt it.

[[ Edge smirks, happy with himself. ]]

Edge: I couldn't understand why you were here, Rock. I raked my mind for hours, and hours, just trying to think WHY you would even want to do this. Why you would be willing to step into the ring with me, why you would put yourself first line to be destroyed. FINALLY, it clicked. I finally figured this all out, Rock. Really, I have. You figured..

[[ Edge talks in a really high pitch tone now. ]]

Edge: Oh, Wrestlemania Entertainment? Oh yeah, I gotta' get on that. That way, I can try impress some of "my people". Oh, how awesome will that be?

[[ That was ridiculous, Edge seemed to enjoy it though. ]]

Edge: You need to listen to what I'm telling you right now, Rock. This is the last thing that you want, believe me. You were better off making garbage movies, and raking in those dollars that you love so much. This has got to be the worst decision in the history of wrestling, period. Time goes on, and people things change, PEOPLE change. I'm a totally different animal from what you once knew, and saw, way back many years ago. When people like you leave the business, GREATER superstars are born when finally given that one change that they need. That's all I needed, one shot, one chance. All I needed was one foot on that mountain, and I climbed that bitch all the way to the summit.

[[ He points up the sky, nodding his head slightly. He runs his hands over his hair, pushing it out of his face. ]]

Edge: I couldn't resist the offer to come here, it was too great. When they told me who I'd be facing, man, was I pleased. It was like a dream come true, really. I don't even remember or even care, when you last stepped into the ring. It's irrelevant. You could walk down that ramp, step into the ring in the best condition of your life. No doubt, I'll hear you claim to be "better than ever".

[[ He actually laughs now. ]]

Edge: Yeah, like I haven't heard THAT one before.

[[ He continues. ]]

Edge: I wouldn't even waste your breath. I can almost hear what you're gonna' say now, Rock. Call me a jabroni, talk about shoving your boot sideways up my ass. What's up with that anyway, man? It's a little creepy.

[[ It's true. Nobody wants to see that, if it was actually possible. ]]

  Edge: I'm sure that you will put up a slight challenge, Rock. I'd assume so, anyway. In the end, it will all be in vain. You're not in my LEAGUE.. that's the truth of it. That's what it will all boil down to in the end, believe me. I'm going to show the whole world that you don't belong in the ring anymore. I'm so confident, I'd tie one hand behind my back, and still guarantee that I'd win this match. I've beaten the best that there is, some of the greatest wrestlers in the world. Sure, you did it back then. The difference is that I've done it NOW.. in the present, not in the past like you. My first match, and I'm going to destroy a legend. It may be true that you done a lot for wrestling, Rock. You captivated fans, entertained millions. Those days are long gone, and I'm going to stand in that ring with my arm raised high in the air. I'm sure that "the people" won't like it, but I can sure as hell tell you, that I'm going to love every DAMN second of it.

[[ Edge is fully focused now. ]]

Edge: Beating you won't be the only glory that I have on SLAM, oh no.. there's more. A more IMPORTANT prize,  a greater glory than defeating you, Rock.

[[ He gets that distant look in his eye again. ]]

Edge: A battle royal will await. A battle royal which I will WIN, then get the opportunity to capture the World Heavyweight Championship at No Mercy. MY World Heavyweight Championship! Nobody deserves to hold it, not one of those idiots deserve something with such prestige. I'm the only person who should touch it, hold it, be called World Champion. I'll win it, I'll win it.

[[ A strange grin comes across his face. ]]

Edge: WHO CAN STOP ME!?

[[ He cups his ear, expecting to hear a response. ]]

Edge: NOBODY! NOT A DAMN PERSON!

[[ Again, he seems to snap out of it. ]]

Edge: That title is the ONLY reason that I'm here. I don't care about anything else, this is my crown jewel, the apple of my eye. Nothing in the world matters compared to this, that world title, it shows beyond a shadow of a doubt that you're the BEST at what you do. Everyone in that Battle Royal, this is a message to you. Try as you all might, you cannot defeat me. I will NOT be defeated. This is my destiny. I'll throw every last one of you out of that ring, then go on to capture the World Heavyweight Championship at No Mercy. I'm going to go down in history, I'm going to be the greatest this company has ever seen. Name the stars of the past, then look at me, I'm better than each, and every last one of them. YOU ALL KNOW IT! I know it, too. Just wait, just you wait.

[[ Edge moves closer to the camera. ]]

Edge: The grand re-opening of Wrestlemania Entertainment will be historic, and by the end of the night, you won't be talking about Triple H. You won't be talking about The Rock, you won't be talking anything other than.. ME!

[[ He points to himself, poking his finger into his chest. ]]

Edge: I hope you're prepared, Rock. I really hope you listened to what I told you, this is going to be the worst night of your LIFE.. this will be the night you realize, that you no longer have what it takes. That you're inferior in every way compared to me. Like I said, the grand re-opening will be historic. The final image on all of your minds, will be my hand being raised, having won the Battle Royal, and moved one step closer to capturing the World Heavyweight Championship. BANK ON IT!

[[ Edge winks at the camera. ]]

Edge: I'll be seeing you at SLAM, Rock.

[[ Edge walks away from shot of the camera as our scene fades out. ]]
