The shot we have is of a man lying in an alley, blood flows from a wound which is at the top of his head. It's plain for everyone to see that he is lying in a large pool of his own blood, he has to be nearing death. Just outside of the alley, there lies a busy street with cars flowing past at a rapid rate. People walk past this alley, too. People heading out for a date, meeting loved ones for a meal or, meeting friends for a drink in a bar. All of them choose to ignore this man, lying here in the alley. No one loved him, no one wanted to know him. In his right hand, there lies a bottle of whiskey, which is now empty. He's slipped under the radar, this man had a problem, one which couldn't be fixed.  He wasn't straight edge. He needed straight edge in his life.

Cut to.

Thirty minutes earlier.

Our scene awakens in shot of a drunken homeless man, he is leaning against a wall, clearly have drunk way too much alcohol on this evening. Where he gets the money from, one can only really take a guess. He takes a big swig of a whiskey bottle, grimacing as he swallows it down. A young woman walks past him, catching his eye, she doesn't even seem to notice him standing there. Nobody ever takes any notice of these people, they're scum, nobody even acknowledge's them. She takes a turning down an alley, the man notices this straight away, and he follows. The woman stops to reach into her handbag, taking out a cigarette. The man approaches her, taking her down to the floor, then he reaches for her handbag. The woman scatters to her feet, breaking a heel in the process, then runs out of the alley. The man doesn't even seem concerned, he really has nothing to lose, prison would be better than this place. He hasn't noticed the blacked out SUV, which is parked across the street from him. Two people step out of the SUV, as the man places money from the hangbag into his own pocket.

The homeless man is pleased with his work, taking a cigarette, then lighting it with her lighter. He inhales, then blows a huge cloud of smoke into the air.

Homeless Man: Heh, stupid bitch.

He reaches into the pockets of his old, worn jacket, removing his bottle of whiskey. He screws the cap off, throwing it onto the floor. He takes another huge gulp, another grimace. He leans against the wall, still smoking his cigarette. Two figures enter the alley, the man doesn't even take any notice of them, why should he? What business would they have with him?

One of the figures appears to be of a man, wearing a hat over his head, with a big coat. The other appears to be female, judging by the walk, with her head shaved. The stop just before the man, staring directly at him. The man turns his head slowly, looking at both of these people. He blows smoke directly into the faces of both of them, confident that he can take them both, blinded by the alcohol of course. These two people are, of course, Luke Gallows, and Serena.

Luke Gallows: I pity people like you, people who have not been shown the right path in life, people who haven't been enlightened. Do you want me to show you the right way of life? A life without this alcohol, a life without that cancer stick in your hand.

Serena: The straight edge lifestyle.

The man chuckles to himself, then spits onto the floor.

Luke Gallows: I know you may find this a bit out of the blue, I'm offering you a chance in life, a chance that you'll receive nowhere else in this life.
