PRESENTS ....

(FADETO: Back to the announce table. Gheorghe looks confused.)

GHEORGHE: "I'm not sure what Spectre, Pepito and Toofus are up to ... but ... how weird is that Voice?"

JIVE: "That voice has been following Spectre all up to the pay per view .. but we've got the number one contendership to worry about here tonight."

GHEORGHE: "Yes, we're underway here with these two up and coming superstars taking each other on in an opportunity to become the next TV champion!" 

JIVE: "Can we get on with this so we can get on to some real matches?" 

GHEORGHE: "Nick, give these guys some respect, both of these athletes have accomplished quite a bit here for just starting in New ERA, and I forsee great futures for both of them." 

JIVE: "I'm sure you do." 

GHEORGHE: "Now what the hell is that supposed to mean?"

(CUTTO: Ringside as Carl Jacobs stands in the ring. The lineup swirls around the screen before it settles on the screen.)

JACOBS: "The following match is scheduled for one fall ... and is to determine the NUMBER ONE CONTENDER to the New ERA TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP! Introducing first ..."

(CUEUP: 'When Worlds Collide' by Powerman 5000. John Doe makes his way down to the ringside .. Jane Doe beside him.)

JACOBS: "His origins are unknown ... being led to the ring by his sister JANE DOE .... he stands six foot one and weighs 210 pounds ...... HE IS JOHN DOE!"

JIVE: "John and Jane Doe .. what a ... yea."

(CUEUP: 'Run Like Hell' by Kittie as Alex Borden comes onto the rampway.)

JACOBS: "And his opponent ... standing six foot two and weighing 230 pounds .. he hails from Cleveland, Ohio .... he is .... ALEX BORDEN!"

(SFX: Bell rings)

GHEORGHE: "Both men look to be in great shape, Nick."

JIVE: "Just call the match." 

GHEORGHE: "Collar and elbow tie-up gets things going, Doe bounces off the far rope and he bounces into Borden and staggers back a bit. The two exchange rights and lefts and Doe tries it again and this time he takes down Borden with a crossbody. Early cover! ONE ..... TWO .......... and Borden powers out!" 

JIVE: "Doe is going to have to stick and move to have a shot here." 

GHEORGHE: "Doe goes to the well again, and this time he gets caught!! Borden holds on to Doe, POWERSLAM! And Doe is some pain there." 

JIVE: "Quick! Go for the cover!" 

GHEORGHE: "Borden picks Doe back up.... and a headbutt to the head of Doe takes him right back to the mat. Now Borden picks him up yet again, backs him into the corner, and starts leveling Doe with strong forearms, and Doe collapses into the corner. Now Doe is picked up and whipped VIOLENTLY into the corner." 

JIVE: "Wow, his head SNAPPED off of that turnbuckle. Whiplash city!" 

GHEORGHE: "Borden has taken the early control of this match, and now he clenches in a side headlock, in an attempt to wear down Doe." 

JIVE: "Smart strategy here. This Borden is starting to win me over a bit. He's keeping the much quicker John Doe down on the mat, and neutralizing his own lack of speed." 

GHEORGHE: "Crowd starting to get behind Doe a little bit as he staggers to his feet. An elbow to the stomach of Borden, Doe off the ropes with a flying crossbody! ONE ....... TWO ........ NO! Doe realizes he might have stolen the momentum here. He quickly climbs up to the top rope, flying dropkick takes Borden down! Another cover! ONE ............. TWO .................. NO! And Doe off the ropes again, SHINING WIZARD! ONE .............. TWO ................ TWO AND A HALF!! And just like that, John Doe has taken control of the match." 

JIVE: "But hopefully not for long, let's go Borden!!" 

GHEORGHE: "Doe staying in control here, he runs off the ropes and hits a nice running bulldog onto Borden. Now, it's very interesting to see the clash in styles here, even though the two men are not drastically different in size. We have one who prefers the brawling, slower pace, while another is an aerial maniac." 

JIVE: "It does create for some interesting events, which can either make a match very good, or very not good, and you can probably guess what I think about this." 

GHEORGHE: "Doe has Borden in a headlock, TORNADO DDT! But instead Borden throws him right off and Doe goes flying across the ring. Nice block by Borden, who is attempting to take this match over again. He whips Doe into the ropes, and a backbody drop! Doe had some wicked elevation with that one." 

JIVE: "I think he almost touched a rafter!" 

GHEORGHE: "Now a sideslam by Borden, and a cover, ONE ............. TWO ............. THREE--NO!" 

JIVE: "Still too soon!"

GHEORGHE: "Borden picks up Doe again, a HUGE VERTICAL SUPLEX!! And now he Borden picks up Doe and throws him into the corner and just begins to absolutely lay into John Doe with rights and lefts, he's going to break this kid's nose!" 

JIVE: "That's the way to do it Borden! Make him wish he had never lost his memory and wanted to become a wrestler! MAKE HIM PAY!" 

GHEORGHE: "What is your deal? Will you just relax. Doe is beginning to faint in the corner, but Borden picks him back up and begins to use elbows instead of fists to do his damage." 

JIVE: "Many different ways to get the same job done!" 

GHEORGHE: "And now he decides he'll use some European uppercuts, and begins laying forearms into John Doe, who is completely out on his feet! Borden takes the lifeless Doe and throws him into the middle of the ring and begins playing a little bit to the fans." 

JIVE: "Yes, that's right Alex! You go ahead and take a minute and soak it in. You got him beat!!" 

GHEORGHE: "I don't know if this is the best idea for Borden. He has Doe completely out on his feet, and he's letting him recover!" 

JIVE: "Eh, he's fine, he has nothing to worry about!" 

GHEORGHE: "Don't be so sure! Roll-up by Doe, ONE .............. TWO ............. NO!! And that almost cost Alex Borden." 

JIVE: "But instead..... it just made him mad." 

GHEORGHE: "And Borden is back up to his feet, he whips Doe into the ropes and almost BEHEADS him with a lariat. He picks him up again, and does the same thing!" 

JIVE: "Hey, if once you succeed, TRY AGAIN!" 

GHEORGHE: "I'm not exactly sure that's how the phrase goes, but John Doe is taking an immense amount of punishment here, but he continues to get back up for more. You got to give this kid credit." 

JIVE: "I don't have to give him anything!" 

GHEORGHE: "Now, I guess you don't. Doe is using the ropes to get back up, and Borden is standing behind him, just laughing! Look at him! He just kicks Doe in the head and Doe stumbles back to the mat. I don't know if this is really good for Alex Borden. If he has John Doe beat, then maybe he should just capitalize and finish him off when he has the chance!" 

JIVE: "But where's the fun in that?" 

GHEORGHE: "YOU were the one wanting them to end this early a while back!" 

JIVE: "I have NO idea what you're talking about!" 

GHEORGHE: "Doe is staying on the attack, he picks him up and hits an Atomic Drop! Make that two as he does the same thing!" 

JIVE: "Borden has got this repetition thing down!" 

GHEORGHE: "Well, as a younger wrestler, it's better to stick to a small amount of moves that you can do very well. The danger in that lies when your opponents figure that out and then they can easily come up with counters for just about anything. Borden now locks in a Chicken Wing." 

JIVE: "Slowing down the pace again, keeping this match exactly the way he wants it. A very smart move by Borden." 

GHEORGHE: "The crowd is again trying to rally Doe, and he starts to get back up to his feet, but a punch to the head takes him right down. Doe will not stay down, however, and he continues to try to fight against Borden. But still, this beating has GOT to be taking him down a notch, and you just have to wonder how much longer Doe is going to be able to take a beating like this." 

JIVE: "Oh, not much longer, mark it down!" 

GHEORGHE: "We'll see about that, as Borden stays on the attack. He picks up Doe, and throws his head between his legs! This could be a powerbomb!" 

JIVE: "I know this position would be your dream come true Gheorge." 

GHEORGHE: "Borden has Doe up, and DOE LANDED A DDT! Out of nowhere! John Doe landed a DDT, and now he is making his way to his feet as the crowd rises as well. Both of the wrestlers have made it to their feet. Borden takes a swing at Doe, but Doe ducks. He grabs him at the waist from behind! GERMAN SUPLEX! And he holds on!" 

JIVE: "Oh no, not this!" 

GHEORGHE: "And the crowd goes crazy as Doe hits another!" 

JIVE: "MAKE IT STOP!" 

GHEORGHE: "And finally a third German Suplex, and suddenly John Doe has gotten a bolt of energy. He jumps up as the crowd goes crazy. He jumps up to the top rope, MOONSAULT! He got him! ONE ................ TWO ............. NO!!!!" 

JIVE: "You're not going to get him with that. Alex Borden can easily survive the punishment that John Doe has taken this match, and he is nowhere near that point." 

GHEORGHE: "I wouldn't be so sure about that Nick, John Doe has a resiliency that surpasses most NEW wrestlers, I don't know if Borden will be able to withstand that kind of punishment!" 

JIVE: "Oh, sure he can, no question!" 

GHEORGHE: "Well, right now, John Doe is determined to find out the answer to that question. He hits a couple of right hands and European uppercuts to Borden as he drags him to the corner. He grabs him in a side headlock, and THIS TIME HE HITS THE TORNADO DDT! ONE ......... TWO ........... AND HE KICKS OUT! And again, Borden just manages to get a shoulder out." 

JIVE: "Ok, enough playing around here Borden, it's time for you to take care of business!" 

GHEORGHE: "John Doe is clearly the man in the run of things right now! He scoops up Borden, and slams him to the mat, he holds on to the arm and scissors it over. A nice technical move... by John Doe?" 

JIVE: "It can't be that good, consider the source. COME ON ALEX!" 

GHEORGHE: "Doe wrenching on that arm, and Borden reaches for the ropes, and makes it to break the hold. Doe has now caught his breath, he hits the ropes and hits a nice baseball slide kick into the head of Borden, who was still in the ring. Borden is a bit dazed right now, and now Doe is playing to the fans a bit." 

JIVE: "Just like I've always said before, it is NEVER smart to play for the fans. It is always going to cost you the match!" 

GHEORGHE: "Do you even listen to things that come out of your mouth?" 

JIVE: "What do you mean?" 

GHEORGHE: "Earlier in the match, you were loving it when Borden was doing the same thing!" 

JIVE: "Again... I have NO IDEA what you're talking about." 

GHEORGHE: "Doe is climbing up to the top, but wait, Borden is getting to his feet. Doe comes off, and Borden caught him by the throat! CHOKE SLAM!!" 

JIVE: "YES!!!" 

GHEORGHE: "But fortunately for Doe, his momentum took him out of the ring as a response to the move, so Borden will not be able to immediately capitalize. Borden is following Doe to the outside, and he violently throws John Doe into the ring steps!!" 

JIVE: "Some more smart moves, using the available equipment to get the job done!" 

GHEORGHE: "Whatever you consider it, Borden is now grabbing Doe and throwing him back into the ring. Here's a cover, ONE ......... TWO ............. and again Doe manages to JUST get a shoulder up." 

JIVE: "That sure looked like three to me, stay on him Alex. So what's the deal with this Doe guy again?" 

GHEORGHE: "He lost his memory, and has no idea who he was before the so-called accident. Needless to say, he has a bit of a mean streak because of it." 

JIVE: "Hmmm... I still don't know what all the fuss is about, I know PLENTY of people who could benefit from that happening to them. Heck, I'm sitting next to one!" 

GHEORGHE: "One of these times, it's just going to get flat out ugly up here. Anyway fans, back to the match, Alex Borden has continued the outright assault on John Doe with some kicks right to the midsection. The referee is over asking Doe if he wants to quit, but again Doe is having none of it." 

JIVE: "Maybe it would behoove the kid to just give it up." 

GHEORGHE: "Behoove? Do you even know what that means?" 

JIVE: "Uh, yeah, sure I do!" 

GHEORGHE: "I'm sure, Borden is now standing over Doe, smacking him in the back of the head again. Now a backbreaker sends Doe down! Doe is still in a good deal of pain here! The referee might be in a position to end this, but Doe continues to say he wants to keep going. And Borden hits another backbreaker!" 

JIVE: "Slow and methodical, he's just flat out getting it done here! This should only be a matter of time until the finishing touches are put on this." 

GHEORGHE: "Doe lands a couple of rights, but Borden shrugs them off and hits a devastating shoulderbreaker onto John Doe. Nonchalant cover! ONE .......... TWO ........... and again Doe kicks out. I think Borden might have been able to have him there if he had hooked a leg. Borden scoops up Doe again, and a LOW BLOW by John Doe! Somehow the referee missed that! And Doe follows it up with a desperation DDT!" 

JIVE: "HEY! That's cheating!" 

GHEORGHE: "It certainly is, but the referee didn't see it, and that might have been the only chance that John Doe had. Both men are out in the middle of the ring right now." 

(Crowd starts chanting....

GHEORGHE: "No sign of life out of either of these wrestlers right now." 

(3......... 
4.......... 
5............) 

GHEORGHE: "Doe is beginning to stir a bit, but Borden is still down, that low blow really had a nasty effect on him!" 

(6............. 
7...............) 

JIVE: "Oh come on, no match has ended this way since 1945." 

GHEORGHE: "And I'm sure you were around to call it Nick!" 

(8............. 
9..............) 

GHEORGHE: "And Doe throws an arm over Borden, ONE ............... TWO ................ THREE!! NO!!! Alex Borden just managed to get a shoulder up, the crowd that John Doe was about to become the #1 contender for the TV championship!" 

JIVE: "But it is NOT meant to be today, which solidifies the fact that Alex Borden is going to be walking away with this match!" 

GHEORGHE: "I still wouldn't be so sure, Doe has managed to get to his feet, and Borden follows, and these two battered men beginning fighting it out, toe to toe! Borden whips Doe into the ropes, and a HURRICANRANA by Doe takes the bigger man down, ONE .............. TWO .............. TH--NO!! And AGAIN Alex Borden just got a shoulder up." 

JIVE: "Whew! Ok, now is the time!!" 

GHEORGHE: "Doe is circling behind Borden, now could be the time where tries to put the finishing touches on this! He grabs Borden by the hair, whips him into the ropes! AMNESIA ATTACK! NO! Borden ducks and hits a Rude Awakening neckbreaker! Both men are again down, and Borden is the one up this time!" 

JIVE: "That's what I'm talking about! All of that other stuff that he had been doing earlier was merely a set up. Now is the time that he is going to totally take over!!' 

GHEORGHE: "Doe is now staggering to his feet. FULL NELSON! He has a full nelson on Doe, and a FULL NELSON SLAM out of it! ONE ............. TWO ................... THREE!! NO!!!! Doe again just managed to get his shoulder up again!" 

JIVE: "Again, another three count!" 

GHEORGHE: "Borden is looking frustrated, and I think he is now going to be trying to finish this one off. He is measuring Doe from behind, and THERE'S THE CHOKE OUT!! Doe is struggling to hold on as Borden is choking him out in the middle of the ring!" 

JIVE: "YES! THIS IS IT!" 

GHEORGHE: "WAIT! What a move by Doe! He spun himself that both he AND Borden flipped to the outside, and Borden released the hold to brace himself for impact on the way down!!' 

JIVE: "What in the hell was that?!" 

GHEORGHE: "I'm not exactly sure, but now both men are completely slugging it out on the outside. And now Doe CLOTHESLINES BORDEN OVER THE BARRICADE and into the crowd! And Borden continues to brawl, and now they're making their way back into the concourse area!! WHAT A BRAWL BETWEEN THESE TWO!!" 

(SFX: Bell ringing) 

JIVE: "WHAT? WHAT WAS THAT?" 

JACOBS: "Ladies and gentlemen, I have just received notice that the referee has ruled this match.... A DOUBLE COUNTOUT!!" 

(The crowd boos LOUDLY) 

GHEORGHE: "So what happens with the number one contendership for the TV championship??" 

JIVE: "Oh, I'm sure Borden wins on points!" 

GHEORGHE: "Oh, you have to be kidding me. Anyway, a wonderful match between these two fine young athletes, and I'm sure the TV championship situation will be resolved sometime in the future. Coming up next is the Pole on a Pole match between Beau Michaels ... Peter File ... and Madonna Wayne Grossard .... and let me tell you .. I'm sure that this is one match a lot of people are looking to miss."

JIVE: "But .. its going to be good."

GHEORGHE: "That's what I try to tell people ... POLE on a POLE COMING UP NEXT!"
