··· Scene One: Play your Cards Right ···

It was a slow work day. It was always a slow work day in the little book store. Not many people were interested in the rare collections she had. It was good enough for her. She sat behind a large counter, a stack of cards in her hand as she shuffled them. She had various books open in front of her, and candles lit. She was concentrating and shuffling a deck of them, murmuring to herself when she heard the bell for the door ring. She kept her focus, not watching the person approach as she drew some cards out from the deck, then decided to look up. She wasn’t exactly a normality in this place. Pale in complexion she never went out in the sun, and always clothed in pale grays black and whites, she was truly not a normal member of the community. She was wearing a long violet and gray dress, as she played her fingers over the cards, looking at them ruefully before taking notice of who had come inside. As the man walks in he take notice of the woman behind the desk.  He's had his eye on her from a distance for a little bit now.  She may not be considered one of the most beautiful woman due to traditional standards and what she wears but to him she is something special.  Something rare. So he decided to approach her.

Arun Angelove : // looking at her as she continues to shuffle the cards // Hello there.  How are you doing?

Ariadonne Basia : // glancing up at him, she smiled. She had to admit he was rather good looking // Oh, I'm not too bad. Any day above ground, is as good as one can get in this place. // looking over her cards // just pestering the ghosts. What about yourself?

Arun Angelove : // he smiles back at her she clearly has a sense of humor and sometimes around this place that's a rarity with everyone taking themselves far too seriously // I remain above ground right here with you so I suppose I can't complain too much. // he smiles and looking over at the cards // If you don't mid me asking...what are you doing with those cards?

Ariadonne Basia : It's a tarot deck. Gypsies believed for centuries that these cards could tell the future if in the right hands.

Arun Angelove : // he nods // I've heard all about it. All the tales. Never knew what to believe. And never seen them put to work first hand. I just saw you were pretty intent with them when I walked in. is that what you're doing...trying to tell your future?

Ariadonne Basia : Perhaps ... perhaps I was meant to tell yours. // she grinned //

Arun Angelove : // as long as he's been watching her he always felt she was attractive but it was nothing as he imagined as she stands right there in front of his face with a smile on hers, so he smiles back // Oh, is that so? Is that what you were meant to do?

She smiles, laying three cards in front of him. one has two people passionately embracing on a bed, the other, two people sitting looking at the stars, the third, is a cup, with wine spilling over the edge.

Ariadonne Basia : Whomever it's for. they're life's about to get a lot better. // she points to each in turn // love interest, true peace, and abundance. good signs I would say

Arun Angelove : // he nods and smiles // I'd say so. Whoever those cards were meant for has a lot to look forward to. Just a shame it doesn't pin point who exactly those two people are, huh?

Ariadonne Basia : Well, I'm sure it has to be someone close by. They wouldn't have said that otherwise // she smiled, putting the cards away, leaning on the counter. //

Arun Angelove : // he watches as she leans over the counter not able to take his eyes off her // This is your area of expertise, so I'll just have to take your word on it.

Ariadonne Basia : I would say ... with an ... educated guess that this was supposed to be a sign to ... try something new // she smiled, looking him over // you come in here a lot. I don't see you buy much but, something tells me you come in here looking for something

Arun Angelove : // he just looks back over at her analyzing her face before smiling // You're very perceptive. I do usually come here for a reason. I've taken a liking to this place...

Ariadonne Basia : I'm glad to have people like you in the shop ... you're more the type of person I like to cater to. These ... blonde beach bunnies don't have any passion to them. no drive. They're dead inside. I like someone with a little fire to them. Hard to find in this place. But you ... you seem to have a sense of what you want in life.

Arun Angelove : I know the feeling. In fact, I feel exactly the same way. Society tend to tell that bleached blonde bunnies are what a man should like. What he should want. I've never seen the attraction. I've never found myself pursuing anyone like that. I'd rather have some who knows to live life than someone whose so fake you can't even tell what's real anymore. To be perfectly honest I'm more attracted to someone who looks a little more...// he smiles and he glances her over // like you.

Ariadonne Basia : Well, I don't think you'd find anyone else like me in this place. we seem to be the only two that don't think this place is heaven. But more like a purgatory. It's a shame, they can't even see what they could have, they live in their delusions // she steps out from the counter. She lifts her dress to step down, showing the heels that cover her feet, as she looks at him. She smiled //

Arun Angelove : // he moves closer towards her and extends his hands to hand her down to him // You're not telling me anything new. It's one of the thing that's made my existence in this place so miserable. How can one be so happy when he's surround by self involved Barbie’s all day long? From the moment I laid my eyes on you. I knew you were different. I knew there was something about you. I just hadn't figured out what yet.

Ariadonne Basia : I've wondered the same about you ... You're a rare mystery in this world full of cheap chick lit // she smiled, looking up at him // I wouldn't mind finding out what ... secrets your pages hold // she smirked, and let her hand trace almost against his skin, just far enough from it so he could see. //

Arun Angelove : // almost feeling her touch him he just looks at her hand before looking back at her // I wouldn’t mind you finding out what every page of me may hold...nor would I mind finding the same out about you. You wanted to know why I came by so often thought I've never bought anything? The answer is.. you. [he smirks // I just keep getting drawn back. I can't seem to stay away from you.

Ariadonne Basia : Well you don't have to stay away, if you don't want to // she smirked, moving just a little closer // I'm always up for a good read // she winked, and let her hand just finally rest on his chest //

Arun Angelove : I had no intention on staying away. // he lets his hands trace down her side // You can read me anytime you like. I wouldn’t mind giving you a read on occasion, either. // as he winks back at her //

Ariadonne Basia : Well then it's a good thing we're in a book store huh. // she smiled, and looked up at him, before pulling away gently, to settle onto a small couch sitting in one corner of the store, away from prying eyes //

Arun Angelove : // he follows behind her, settling on the couch next to her // Nobody in this town can ever seem to keep there eyes to themselves and mind their own business, can they?

Ariadonne Basia : no ... they all like to speak about the things we do ... thus why I have this little nook. no one can see us back here unless they come inside. and they're too scared to do that.

Arun Angelove : Scared...and just unable to comprehend what anything in this store even means. Remember, they've lived in this sheltered existence all their lives. They live in the light where everything is simple and they have these guidelines they adhere. There like sheep. They need to be told where to go. Told what to do...and they do so. // he smiles as he glances back over at her // So...you're right. There won’t be any intrusions in here.

Aria took a bold move, turning and letting her legs rest over the other man's lap, laying against the arm of the couch.

Ariadonne Basia : it's sad that I could do more with just the knowledge I have from here than they ever could in their silly lives. I wish there was a way to make them see that

Arun Angelove : // letting his hand stroke up and down her leg resting on his lap he looks over at her // That's the sad thing. You can't. They have blinders on. They never see the truth. Their set in there ways and that's the way it will always be for them.

Ariadonne Basia : Well then I guess we'll ... just have to make our own paradise in this place ...

Arun Angelove : I like the sound of that. No need to worry abut all them and how they've lost their way we can just concentrate on each other inside this little haven of ours.

Aria smiled, and let her legs off of his lap gently, looking over at him with a knowing grin.

Ariadonne Basia : our own little haven.

Arun Angelove : // he nods scooting slightly closer towards her // Our own little place isolated from the rest of the world.

Ariadonne Basia : I like that idea. No one to ever bother us or get in our way.

Arun Angelove : // he smiles // No bother. No annoyances. No distractions. Just the two of us free to do whatever we desire.

Aria smiled as he leaned closer, letting her hand slide up to his cheek, looking into his eyes.

Ariadonne Basia : Anything we desire huh? I could ... think of a few things. I'm sure.

Arun Angelove : // he smiles // Oh yeah and what might you have on your mind?

Aria smiled as she looked over him.

Ariadonne Basia : Oh ... It might include a little bit of work.

Arun Angelove : // he looked right back over at her // Work, huh? What kind of work might that consist of?

Aria smiled and slid her hand along his shoulder to his chest.

Ariadonne Basia : oh, I don't know ... I'm sure you could figure it out ...

Arun Angelove : I'm sure we could up with a few idea's. // he smiles and brushes her hair back before leaning in as the two share their first kiss together //

Aria kissed him gently, as she ran her hand up to his cheek, closing her eyes as she laid back slowly. As she laid back he slowly climbed on top of her sinking down into her body as he ran his hands across her legs, closing his eyes, kissing her deeper and with more passion.
