[He had heard Natalie say something about leaving as he came out of the bathroom in a pair of boxers and much to his surprise Lauren was standing there. She looked uncomfortable, pale, and just all around anxious. He knew that Natalie had answered the door and he wasn't entirerly sure of what kind of words the two of them had between them. He could only imagine as he stared at Lauren for a moment before speaking.]
Hunter Christian Donimari:
Hey...
[He began awkwardly.] What's going on?
Lauren Jane Callahan:
I stopped by because I left my necklace here and I...
[It seemed as though she had lost her train of thought. Seeing Natalie had thrown her off.] I know it's late but I needed to get my necklace.
Hunter Christian Donimari:
Oh yeah? Well what's it look like and we'll find it.
[He said as he went back to his room and threw on a pair of jeans.] Where was the last place you remembered having it.
Lauren Jane Callahan:
[He walked back out as she held up the necklace to show him.] No need to look for it, Natalie found it and gave it back to me. [He didn't know what to say as she swallowed hard and looked at him.] So I guess the two of you are back together or something?
Hunter Christian Donimari:
[He shrugged.] As it stands now, we're not getting back together but who knows what could happen in the future. [When she didn't say anything to him in reply to that he tilted his head to the side and looked at her.] You're pissed about this aren't you?
Lauren Jane Callahan:
Why should I have any reason to be pissed Hunter? [She raised an eyebrow in his direction.] What happened the other night didn't mean anything to you and it's probably a smart move if I don't let it mean anything to me either. [She shook her head.] No harm, no foul; I should probably go.
Hunter Christian Donimari:
[She turned and walked toward the front door. He grabbed ahold of her upper arm to stop.] Just hold up a minute, I admit that I was a douchebag the other night but we need to talk about this. [He turned her toward him as she tried to get away.] You aren't fine about all of this and you can't lie to me and say that you are.
Lauren Jane Callahan:
And how would you know what I am? [She looked him right in the eye.] Just because your Lucas' best friend doesn't mean you know the first thing about me. In fact you've never noticed me until the other night. [He kept ahold of her arm but loosened his grip a bit.] But I always noticed you, ever since the first day Luke brought you over to the house. [Her bottom lip was quivering a little as she looked up at him.] I wanted you to be my first but I never actually thought it would happen.
Hunter Christian Donimari:
I'm sorry that what happened, happened and I wish we could take it back. I wish I had something better to say to you but I don't. I feel horrible for what happened.
Lauren Jane Callahan:
You know what? [She pushed him off of her.] Just stop it okay? You can't take back what happened and there's no use in telling me you feel horroble. What good is it going to do by telling me you feel horrible? [She shook her head.] It does shit Hunter so just stop it. The fact remains that I was just a rebound for you and whether or not that's how I wanted things to turn out that's how they are. I have to go because as Natalie so kindly pointed out, I am out on a school night. [Before he could stop her she had made it to the door. She stopped and looked at him.] By the way I wanted to invite you to Lucas' party I'm throwing for him this week.
[She left his house then as he watched her go. Hunter felt like an ass which seemed to be a constant thing with him as of late. Seeing how upset Lauren was with everything that had happened effected him. He knew she was hurting even if she didn't admit to it. Seeing Natalie didn't help things and Hunter could understand how she would feel like a rebound. The thing is though that Lauren wasn't rebound for him. Normally he wouldn't have kissed her and let things go as far as they had but the night that it all happened, there was something about the way she looked that he couldn't resist. In fact just a moment ago when she was there, standing next to him he wanted to kiss her. Lauren had hit the nail on the head when she said that he hadn't noticed her before the night they slept together. He had always seen her as just Lucas' younger sister but since they slept together that wasn't the case any longer. In fact he couldn't stop thinking about her but there was not a chance that anything could happen between them. He couldn't be at the house at this time and decided to go and pay a visit to his brother Jaxan. He needed someone else's insight on everything and grabbed the nearest T-shirt and threw it on. He left the house and within thirty minutes was in the drive-way of Jaxan's home. There was a light on which made him figure that Hunter was home. He got out of his truck and walked to the front door; he rang the doorbell and within a few moments the front door was opened. It wasn't Jaxan who was standing there, but Jenna. The two were wide-eyed as they stared at each other before finally Hunter made the first attempt to speak..]
Hunter Christian Donimari:
Hey uhh Jenna, is Jax here?
Jenna Michelle Biesen:
Actually he's not, but he should be back tomorrow. He and the boys have a show out of town tonight. [She noticed how stressed he looked.] You okay though?
Hunter Christian Donimari:
Not really but I'm pretty sure this isn't something I should talk about with you. [He shook his head.] Yeah this is definately something I shouldn't talk about with you because I know exactly what you're going to say.
Jenna Michelle Biesen:
Well why don't you come in, tell me what's going on, and then we'll see what I have to say. [He stood there and didn't make a move forward. Jenna rolled her eyes and shook her head.] Okay are things seriously going to continue to be tense between us? What happened is in the past Hunter and I've moved on from it.
Hunter Christian Donimari:
For once me not wanting to talk to you has nothing to do with our past. What I have going on just isn't something I want to talk to my ex-fiancee about-- that's all.
Jenna Michelle Biesen:
Okay well then don't think about me as your ex-fiancee, think of me as your brother's girlfriend. [She grabbed ahold of his arm and pulled him inside.] Come on Hunter, let me help you. Before we got together, we were really good friends. Despite the past I think I'd like to get back to it. I feel like we owe it to our little girl or something to at least get along.
Hunter Christian Donimari:
[He said nothing as he shut the door behind him and she let go of his arm.] So you and Jax are back together? How did that happen?
Jenna Michelle Biesen:
We ended up talking a few nights ago and decided to give things another go. [She led him into the living room.] After Kendall died I had a lot of time to think about everything that's been going on in my life and I couldn't continue on the path I was going down. Plus I've got Ian to think about now and I want Jax to be in his life. [She smiled softly as she thought about him.] Him and I getting back together really is for the best.
Hunter Christian Donimari:
As long as it's what you both want then I guess that's good. [He said as he took a seat on the arm of the couch. Jenna had taken a seat in a nearby chair.] How is Ian doing by the way?
Jenna Michelle Biesen:
He's doing as good as can be expected. [She crossed one leg over the other.] He's been having some trouble getting adjusted to new surroundings but I think he's going to be fine. I just hope that I'm going to be able to raise him right.
Hunter Christian Donimari:
Don't worry so much about it, you're going to be fine. When it comes to kids, you get the hang of it after a while.
Jenna Michelle Biesen:
I'm sure that's true, but enough about me. [She sat up in her chair.] What in the hell is going on with you that you're so stressed about. [Before he could answer.] I heard about Natalie by the way, I'm sorry.
Hunter Christian Donimari:
Yeah well no need to be sorry, she's out now and the girls are back with her. [He shook his head as he slid down and took a seat on the couch.] I've really screwed up though Jenna and if it gets out I could get into a lot of trouble.
Jenna Michelle Biesen:
[Her eyebrows raised.] What exactly did you do Hunter? I can tell by looking at you that you're really worried about something, so out with it. maybe there's a way I can help.
Hunter Christian Donimari:
What's done is done and there isn't anything you can do. [He rubbed his forehead, paused for a moment, and then looked at Jenna.] Sunday night while Natalie was in the hospital, Lucas' sister came over and watched the girls while I was at work. I got home and we started talking, one thing led to another and I slept with her.
Jenna Michelle Biesen:
Are you shitting me? [Her eyes widened.] She's seventeen Hunter and if this gets out or worse yet her father find out about it you could go to jail for statutory rape. What exactly were you thinking?
Hunter Christian Donimari:
I wasn't, okay? [He kind of fired back at her as he stood up and started to pace.] I came home, I was kind of drunk, and she was there. [He rubbed his forehead and then used his hand to smooth some of his hair back,] She told me she was a virgin...
Jenna Michelle Biesen:
That poor girl...[She shook her head and placed the palm of her hand on her chest.] Knowing you, I'm sure you rammed into her like a fucking semi to, didn't you? [He said nothing as she sighed.] Well what's going to happen now? I mean...
Hunter Christian Donimari:
She said that she wasn't going to tell anyone and I'm pretty convinced that she isn't.
Jenna Michelle Biesen:
I'm sure she won't because if her dad found out he would shit. [She thought for a moment as she looked up at Hunter.] You may be in the clear though because I think her birthday is in September and she'll be eighteen. The only way this could get out is if somebody opens their mouth and God knows I won't. Does anyone else know about this, besides me?
Hunter Christian Donimari:
I texted Darren, so he knows and...[He grimaced and shook his head.] Natalie had someone spy on me while she was in the hospital, so she knows. She said she isn't going to tell anyone though.
Jenna Michelle Biesen:
Are you sure you can believe that? [She stood up and walked over to the mini-bar that Jaxan had in the living room. She started to make herself a drink, not a strong one, but just something to take the edge off of what he just told her.] I don't know much about Natalie but from I do know she's not the most honest person. I would be careful if I were you, especially if there is actual proof about what you and Lauren did. [He said nothing as she took a drink from her glass.] You feel bad about what happened with Lauren though, don't you?
Hunter Christian Donimari:
I guess. [He shrugged his shoulders and slid his hands into the pockets of his jeans.] She admitted she had a crush on me and wanted me to be her first. [He shook his head.] As if I didn't all ready need anymore of a reason to feel like an asshole. [He looked at Jenna.] When she told me that she was a virgin I couldn't get her out of the house fast enough.
Jenna Michelle Biesen:
Well in your defense you should feel like an asshole. [He looked at her with a raised eyebrow.] In all seriousness though, you didn't know she was a virgin so anyone could've made that mistake. Don't beat yourself up over it and if it does end up coming out just pray that it comes out after she turns eighteen.
Hunter Christian Donimari:
Yeah I guess you're right. [He glanced up at the clock and then looked back at Jenna.] That's not all that's going on though. [She looked at him and sighed.] Natalie's pregnant again.
Jenna Michelle Biesen:
You just can't keep those little soldiers in a condom can you Hunter? Well what does that mean for the two of you? [She took another drink from her glass.] Are you going to get back together?
Hunter Christian Donimari:
Christ I don't know Jenna. [He sighed.] Part of me thinks I should because we all ready have the girls and we have another one on the way. It would be the right thing to do but then another part of me knows that if she and I get back together nothing is going to change. We'll constantly be fighting with each other and that isn't the right kind of environment for the kids to grow up in.
Jenna Michelle Biesen:
I agree with you on that. The only reason my parents got married was because my mom got pregnant at sixteen with Kendall. They stayed together because they thought it was the right thing to do but all they ever did was fight. Trust me when I say that staying together just for the kids is not a wise idea, especially when all you do is fight with the other person. One thing I'm sure of is that eventually you'll make the right decision.
[Hunter nodded and knew that Jenna was right. He and Jenna talked for a few more minutes and ended their visit with a friendly hug. He knew that he still cared about Jenna but also knew that the feelings were ones that would never be like they were before which he was relieved for. He left his brother's house feeling slightly better about things. He went home that night and went to bed. He wasn't all together sure what he was going to do about what was going on in his life but he hoped that things would look better in the morning.]
