[Lauren checked her watch as she got into her car and saw that it was time to head over to Hunter's. She had offered to watch her brother's friend's twin daughters while he he worked. She wasn't exactly sure why she had offered to do so but figured it had a lot to do with the on-going crush she had on him for close to six years. She started up her car and grabbed the half-empty bottle of water. As she unscrewed the cap and took a drink, she reached over and pressed the button for her radio in her car. It wasn't long before she was in the drive-wway at Hunter's and getting out of her car. As she walked to the front door, she took her hair tie that was on her wrost and pulled her hair up into a ponytail. When she got to the door she pressed the button for the doorbell and waited for an answer. The door was pulled open as Hunter was standing there with one of the twins in his arms.]
Hunter Christian Donimari:
Hey thanks for doing this.
[He said as he stepped aside.] Come on in.
Lauren Jane Callahan:
All right.
[She said as she smiled at him and stepped in. She looked at the baby he was holding and felt her smile widen. She reached out and took a hold of the baby's hand.] She's so beautiful; which one is she?
Hunter Christian Donimari:
Maddie; Michelle's sleeping but should be getting up soon.
[He led her into the living room which opened up into the kitchen and dining room.] They're really good babies though and shouldn't be much trouble.
[He placed Madeline in a nearby swing and turned it on.] You sure that you're up to taking care of twins though?
Lauren Jane Callahan:
I don't foresee it being a problem.
[She managed a smile as she set her purse down on a nearby table.] As long as they pretty much stay in the same spot and not go all over the house to point where I can't get them, then I don't see a problem.
[She laughed and managed a serious smile.] I'm glad I can help you out though.
Hunter Christian Donimari:
And I do apprieciate it.
[He looked around for a moment before focusing back on her.] Well I'm going to finish getting ready and then I have to head on out. You going to be okay staying here until around Four?
Lauren Jane Callahan:
Definately, I talked to Lucas and he said that if I was too tired to drive he'd come and get me.
[She managed a smile.] So no worries from that end.
[She thought for a moment.] Umm do they know when Natalie is going to be able to get out? I mean is she doing any better?
Hunter Christian Donimari:
They're actually not too sure.
[He said as he grabbed his nearby bottle of Mountain Dew and took a drink from it.] Hopefully it could be sometime during the week.
[It was awkward for him to talk about with her so he hesitated for a moment.] All right I've got a couple of things to do and then I have to get going.
[She nodded.] You know Maddie might be getting hungry so maybe you could try giving her a bottle? It's all ready made up and on the counter.
Lauren Jane Callahan:
I think I can handle that.
[She walked into the kitchen and found a bottle. She grabbed it and walked back into the room where Madeline was. A smile crossed her face as she looked down at the baby.] Hey there Munchkin, I hope you're hungry because I have a bottle here with your name on it.
[She reached in and for her out of the swing.] You, your sister, and me are going to have loads of fun tonight, I tell you what.
[She gently gave Madeline the bottle and held her.] Maybe we'll watch a little Desperate Housewives and then maybe some VH1 Celebreality.
[She turned as she was feeding the baby and saw Hunter standing there with a smirk on his face,] I was just telling Maddie about the plans we have for the evening.
Hunter Christian Donimari:
Yeah I heard.
[He laughed a bit.] Just no wild parties, all right?
[He grabbed his phone, keys, and wallet.] I've got to get going.
[He walked over, leaned in and kissed Madeline on the forehead.] Daddy loves you Princess and he'll see you in the morning.
[He looked at Laurie then.] I'll get home as soon as I can.
Lauren Jane Callahan:
Seriously, you don't have to worry. I can really handle this Hunter.
[He said nothing as he nodded and left the house. The rest of the evening went really well. Michelle awakened not long after Hunter and left and the girls were both great for Lauren. After she had fed them both some jarred baby food, she bathed them, and got them into pajamas. By Nine she had them both in bed and they were sleeping peacefully. Lauren decided to go a step further and clean up the house. She wasn't tired by any means and still had probably close to five hours to kill before Hunter got home. She had a hunch that since Natalie had been out of the house that Hunter hadn't done dishes or cleaned up any. By One AM she had gotten most of the house straightened up and was even able to throw some clothes into the wash. She took a seat on the couch and ended up falling asleep until about Four. She had woken up and saw that Hunter still wasn't home. She sat up and stretched a bit. Her cell phone was on the table next to the couch. When she looked at the Missed Calls list she saw that her brother had tried to call. Sighing to herself, she called him back but only got his voice-mail.]
Lauren Jane Callahan:
Hey Luke, it's around Four AM and Hunter still isn't back yet. I passed out for a little while and just wanted to let you know that I'm probably going to just crash here. Besides I'm pretty sure you're passed out drunk at Ashlee's anyway. I'll be back at Mom and Dad's sometime early morning and should be there all day. So I guess I'll just talk to you later.
[She ended the call and placed the phone back on the end table next to the couch. She glanced around the room and rubbed the back of her neck as she remembered she had packed an overnight bag and left it in her car if she would've needed it. She had packed her toothbrush, a pair of pajamas that consisted of a white tank top with pink and white pajama pants. She had also packed some things so that if she wanted to take a shower she could. She walked out to her car and got her bag. She came back inside and went straight to the bathroom. By Four-Thirty she had finished her shower and gotten dressed in her pjs. She was exhausted and just wanted to crash. She brushed her hair out but it still hung in wet strands on her shoulders. As she walked down the hall, she peeked into the girls' room and saw that they were still asleep. She walked out to the living room and laid down on the couch. She closed her eyes and was asleep within moments but awoke when she heard the front door opening. She turned her head and looked toward the front door just in time to see Hunter walk in. He was stumbling a bit which gave Lauren the impression he had been drinking. She managed to set up.]
Lauren Jane Callahan:
Hey, you're here.
[She stretched a bit as she wrapped her arms around her knees.] Work go good?
Hunter Christian Donimari:
Yeah...
[He shut the door behind him and sat down in the nearest chair.] We were busy as fuck tonight and a fight broke out and the cops were called.
[He slipped his shoes off and looked at her.] How were the girls ?
Lauren Jane Callahan:
Really good, just complete angels.
[She said with a small smile.] I hope you don't mind but I'd like to crash here for a few more hours.
Hunter Christian Donimari:
Hell I don't mind, stay as long as you want.
[He exhaled deeply.] Tonight was one of the longest night's of my life.
[He tilted his head and looked at her.] Sorry about being late, I swear I'll try and be here on time from now on.
Lauren Jane Callahan:
It's really no big deal; after the girls went to bed I actually kind of straightened up around the house. I hope you don't mind but I figured it'll make things easier around here if things are kind of picked up.
Hunter Christian Donimari:
You didn't have to do any of that, seriously I feel like I should be giving you something for what you're doing.
[He stared at her for a moment and had a look on his face which she couldn't read.] Why are you doing all of this though? I know I'm your brother's friend and all but why are you wanting to do all of this?
Lauren Jane Callahan:
[She shrugged her shoulders.] I don't know, I guess I felt for you and your girls. When I was about nine and Luke was fourteen, our mom was in the hospital for a couple of months. She had some sort of nervous break-down and had to be put in a mental hospital for a little while.
[She moved her legs so she was sitting indian style.] Luke and I didn't have anyone to stay with us so we kind of had to fend for ourselves with our dad working so much. I guess your girlfriend being in the hospital hit me kind of hard because of your girls not having their mom around.
Hunter Christian Donimari:
Well for starters Natalie isn't my girlfriend.
[He shook his head.] I'm not even sure what the hell we are.
Lauren Jane Callahan:
[She narrowed her eyesbrows in his direction.] I thought you guys were engaged or something. At least that's what I last heard from Lucas.
Hunter Christian Donimari:
We were engaged, but not anymore.
[He sat up a bit.] It's been nothing but drama since day one and I'm sick and tired of it. If it isn't Natalie blaming me for something or accusing me of crap I haven't even done, it's her brother blaming me for something. I'm just sick of it all.
[He wasn't sure why he was admitting this to her but perhaps it was because he needed to vent.] If it hadn't of been for the girls, chances are I wouldn't have even gotten back together with Natalie.
[He grabbed a pack of cigarettes that he had in his pant pocket along with a lighter.] I'm going outside to have a smoke, want to join me?
[She nodded as they both stood up. She followed him outside after she slipped her flipflops on. They kept the main door open but shut the screen in case the girls began to cry. It was a chilly night by California standards, Lauren folded her arms against her chest and took a seat on the front step. Hunter was standing against the railing and had all ready lit up his cigarette. There was a definate silence between the two of them as Lauren didn't know what to say to him after what he had said to her about Natalie earlier. Instead they both just stayed out there, she started to shiver because of the slight breeze that was blowing and the fact she had a tank top on. Hunter glanced at her after exhaling a drag.]
Hunter Christian Donimari:
You look cold, want a sweatshirt or something?
Lauren Jane Callahan:
I've actually got one in my car, I'm going to go and get it.
[She stood up and walked past him to her car. She got into it and pulled out a black hooded sweatshirt. She slipped it on and walked back over to where he was. She smiled slightly at him] And that is a heck of a lot better.
Hunter Christian Donimari:
[He took another drag and then exhaled.] You know I'd figure with it being your last week of summer you'd be spending it partying with your friends and living it up before you start Senior Year or at least spend it with your boyfriend.
Lauren Jane Callahan:
Just not one for the partying scene I guess.
[She shrugged her shoulders.] And the whole boyfriend thing isn't an issue because there isn't one. Besides my dad really isn't big on me dating anyone or really having any kind of social life.
Hunter Christian Donimari:
Yeah from what I can gather your dad is a real hard ass.
[He raised an eyebrow as he looked at her.] Come to think of it, I don't see how your dad would be okay with you coming over here for most of the night. How did you swing that?
Lauren Jane Callahan:
[She kind of smirked sheepishly.] I told him that I'd be at a friend's house tonight doing some studying to get prepared for Senior Year. When it comes to anything academic he has no problems with. Plus it was a Sunday Night so I guess he figured I wouldn't get into any trouble.
Hunter Christian Donimari:
[He looked at her kind of impressed as he laughed to himself.] I feel kind of honored that you lied in order to help me out. The last thing I'd want is for you to get into any trouble though, least of all because of me.
Lauren Jane Callahan:
Don't worry about my dad because Lord knows I sure as heck don't.
[She was standing in front of him as he finished his cigarette.] Seriously though, it's not a big deal. If he finds out, I'll just tell him it was an emergency and Lucas asked me if I would do it.
Hunter Christian Donimari:
You still shouldn't be lying to your dad Lauren.
[He looked down at her for a moment and again he had an expression on his face she couldn't read.] Last thing I want is anyone getting themselves into shit for me, least of all you.
Lauren Jane Callahan:
And honestly I don't mind. I told you my reasoning for wanting to help you out.
[She crossed her arms against her chest as she took a step toward him.] I'll tell you the truth, you're kind of cute when you're trying to be all noble and keep me out of trouble.
[She smiled up at him.] It's very endearing.
[He continued to look down at her and without saying a word, he brought his hand to the back of her head and gently pulled her to him. Hunter leaned in and kissed her on the lips. Lauren was shocked at first but quickly returned it. The kiss lasted for a few seconds before he slowly slid his tongue in her mouth. She was shocked once again but didn't stop him as she met his with her own. She brought her arms up and placed them around his neck as he moved his hand from her head down her to back. He brought his other hand to her back and slid them down so that they were resting right at her lower waist. The kiss lasted for a bit longer as it was broken by him. He pulled his face away from hers but kept his hands on her.]
Hunter Christian Donimari:
I'm sorry about that, I shouldn't of done it.
[He swallowed hard.] Guess I couldn't help it as lame of an excuse as that is.
Lauren Jane Callahan:
It's not a big deal Hunter.
[She kept her arms around his neck as she looked up at him.] If I didn't want it to happen I would've stopped it.
[She started to smile as she continued to look up at him.] I've got a little confession to make...I've had a crush on you. In fact I've had one on you since I was twelve. So there's really no need for you to feel bad because I'ved wanted it to happen for almost six years.
[Without saying anymore, she rested her hands on the back of her head and pulled him in for another kiss this time. He was surprised that she had taken the iniative but the fact that she did really started to turn him on. He slid his hands under her sweatshirt and tank top so that they were resting on bare skin. The touch of his hands on her bare skin caused chils to travel up and down her spine as she pulled him close to her. Finally after a few more seconds, the kids was broken again as Hunter moved lower and started to kiss on her neck while speaking into her ear.]
Hunter Christian Donimari:
[He moved his hands to her sides and slowly started to slide them up.] Do you want to go to the bedroom? .
[She didn't say anything as she could only nod. Hunter took hold of her hand and led her into the house. He shut and locked the doors behind them as all the while Lauren had butterflies in her stomach. He led her back into his bedroom and over to the bed which hadn't been made. Lauren stood by the bed awkwardly as he walked over and shut the door. He then turned and looked at her as she was standing there at the foot of the bed. He walked toward her and without saying anything kissed her again. To Lauren the kiss seemed more heated than it had been outside and she was right. He became a bit more aggresive as he got her down onto the bed. Within moments he had taken off his shirt and slid down her pajama pants as well as had taken off her sweatshirt. She was in just her tank top and panties. It wasn't long before they were both completely naked. He wasted no time in entering her and when he did she felt a sudden rush of pain overtake her. As he started to thrust Lauren let out painful moans that Hunter mistook for ones of pleasure. It turned him on even more as thrusted harder which caused Lauren even more pain. She felt tears come to her eyes and stream down her cheeks as she turned her head to the side and shut her eyes tightly. Hunter looked down at her face and saw the tears. As hard as it was for him to do, he slowed down considerably as he gently brought his hand to her face and turned it toward him. She opened her eyes and looked up at him.]
Hunter Christian Donimari:
Hey...
[He exhaled as he was out of breath.] What's with the tears, you okay?
Lauren Jane Callahan:
I ummm....
[She swallowed hard as she continued to look up at him.] I've never done this before Hunter...
[She said in a soft voice while her bottom lip quivered.] I should've told you to begin with but things just happened so fast...
Hunter Christian Donimari:
You're a virgin?
[He said almost in disbelief as he closed his eyes.] Fuck...
[He opened his eyes and looked back down at her.] I'm so fucking sorry Lauren, I shouldn't have done this.
[He got off of her but made sure he did it gentle enough so as not to hurt her.] You should've stopped me.
[He flipped on the nearest light and noticed blood on the sheets that were a result of their encounter.] Fuck...
Lauren Jane Callahan:
But I wanted it to happen.
[She said as she sat up. He was all ready slipping on his boxers and then his jeans.] If it was something I wouldn't have wanted then I would have stopped you.
[She grabbed her tank top which was on the side of the bed. Hunter had left the room.] It's not that big of a deal Hunter, like I said-- it was something I wanted to happen between us.
[He came back in with a wet washrag for her. He handed it to her as she started to wipe up some of the mess.] Why are you getting so upset about this?
Hunter Christian Donimari:
Because it was your first time and it shouldn't have been with me.
[He shook his head.] It shouldn't of been like this either. It should've been better for you. Seriously you should've stopped me.
Lauren Jane Callahan:
[After she had wiped up the mess, she slipped her pants on.,] I didn't want you to stop.
[She gingerly got off of the bed the lower part of her body was in throbbing with pain.] I told you that I've always had a crush on you, why is this such a big deal?P>
Hunter Christian Donimari:
Because you're Lucas' sister and he's one of my best friends. You're also only seventeen Lauren and I should've remembered that before I kissed you.
[He grabbed his shirt and slid it on.] You should go and it'd probably be best if you didn't watch the girls for me.
Lauren Jane Callahan:
[She had gotten dressed by this time as she looked at him.] Now things are going to be weird between us because of this?
[He said nothing in reply to that. Lauren just stared at him before slipping her sweatshirt on.] Fine if that's what you want then I'll just go.
[She exhaled as she walked toward the bedroom door. She opened it and turned before walking out. She looked back at him,] And I'm not going to tell Lucas about what happened between us, so don't worry about your guys' friendship. In fact I'm not going to tell anyone, as far as I'm concerned now it didn't even happen.
[She turned and walked into the living room where she grabbed whatever belongings of hers she had. Hunter didn't come after her and Lauren just wanted to get out of the house. She wasn't exactly sure how she felt about everything as she walked out of the house and to her car. She opened the driver's side door and tossed her stuff inside of the car. She got in, started it up and pulled out of his drive-way. She immediately turned her radio on so that she wouldln't have to listen to silence. As she turned onto the highway her cell phone began to ring. Looking at the caller id she saw that it was her father. Swallowing hard, she grabbed it and answered it.]
Lauren Jane Callahan:
Hello?...I'm on my way home now Dad, I ended up falling alseep at Marcie's....Yeah I'm about ten minutes away...
[She sighed at what her dad said as she rolled her eyes.] Yes I know, with school starting I won't be able to stay out all night like this...
[She came to a red light as her dad said something else that caused her to look even more agitated.] Dad I'll be home in ten minutes like I said...Goodbye.
[Lauren ended the call as she continued to drive. She didn't want to go home, in fact she wanted to crawl into a hole and die. She just kept her focus on the road ahead of her and wondered what was ahead of her on her own personal road. No matter how she had tried to downplay what had happened with Hunter, but in reality it couldn't be downplayed and she knew it. She wasn't sure if she would ever see him again after this and not all together sure she wanted to. Soon she made it to her drive-way and went into the house. Lauren went straight to bed and didn't come out from her room for the rest of the day under the guise of being sick. In a way she was and it was something she probably wouldn't get over for a while, no matter how much she wanted to.]
