Kayla the blonde whose last name was Knix;
Had recently gotten herself in a fix.
She was set to face Ryann whom Chapman did love.
Secretly she prayed for guidance from above.
Hating the one she was going to fight,
At the end of this tunnel there wasn’t much light.
In a Russian hotel room she paced in a hurry,
With nothing on her mind but a whole lot of worry.
Ryann had more experience, that fact was true.
The mere thought of this made the blonde one blue.
She paced and she paced and she paced a lot more;
Knowing in her heart, Ryann Hardy for a whore.
Then all of a sudden a thought crossed her mind,
How could she have been so stupid and so blind?
Ryann may have had the history fighting that Kayla didn’t.
But she knew without a doubt she need not sweat it.
What Kayla had was the will and the need,
It was these two things that would help her succeed.
As the hours until Showtime draws quickly near,
Blondie knows in her heart she has nothing to fear.
Ryann may have the upper hand,
But when the dust settles, strongly she’ll stand.
Kayla stood in front of the picture window in her Russian Hotel room with her arms crossed against her chest and her bottom lip being gently chewed on. She was nervous to say the least about her up coming match against Ryann Hardy. The fact was that she wasn't ready for this match and even though she had two weeks to prepare, she felt it wasn't enough. The first match she had fought against Ainsley hadn't been that tough and truth was Kayla had sort of winged it. She couldn't do that with Ryann, there was too much hatred and animosity to underestimate her opponent. She thought about this as she exhaled slowly. Time was ticking away and much too quickly for her liking.
She felt completely alone; her sister had stayed back in the states to get things squared away for her new job and her best friend Hunter was also in the states doing his own thing. She would have loved to of talked to Mark but she knew he was most likely with Ryann. As of late, loneliness had been her constant companion and she still had yet to get used to it.
"What in the fuck have I gotten myself into?" Kayla asked herself as she shook her head. She may have tried to come off confidently when it came to Ryann, but in truth, deep down she was worried. She couldn't back down though, this match wasn't just about her, it was also about Mark Chapman and how Ryann had been treating him. In a few short months, Mark had become one of Kayla's best friends and to see him treated like shit made her angry as well as sad.
How Mark could let that horse-faced woman treat him like dirt was beyond her, especially when he had someone waiting for him who would treat him good. Shaking her head, Kayla turned away from the window and faced the rest of her hotel room, her eyes focusing on the bed. Common sense told her that she should lie down and try to sleep but she nixed that thought. Physically she was exhausted but mentally and emotionally she was revved up. She would let herself pass out when all was said and done. Right now she had to focus at the task at hand.
Walking over to her double bed, she fell back onto it and rested her hands behind her head. She stared up at the ceiling just trying to keep herself sane with the hours toward her fight with Ryann speeding by. She took a few deep breaths as her mind began to race. She knew the match was going to leave her bleeding, Ryann wanted to beat the shit out of her and for Kayla the feeling was more than mutual.
”You don’t have to do this. You can just get on the next plane to the states and be done with it. Disappear.” The voice inside of Kayla’s head said. It wasn’t her own voice though, it was an unfamiliar one. Rolling her eyes at her own thoughts she shook her head.
”Nope, I can’t do that.” She said aloud. ” I have to do this, I don’t have an option. I’m not just doing this because I hate Ryann Hardy, I’m doing this because someone needs to stand up for Mark.”
”Stupid Girl, will you never learn?” The voice said in a hissing whisper. “Even if you do all of this, sacrifice your body, do you think he’s just going to realize that he’s in love with you? Fat chance of that happening. Get it through your head, Mark Chapman will NEVER love you.”
Before she could answer what the voice said, her cell phone began to ring. Sighing, she sat up and reached over to the nightstand where the phone was setting. She grabbed it and pressed the speaker button.”Hello?”
”Heya Sissy, it’s me; whacha doin’?” It was Lauren, Kayla’s younger sister. At hearing her baby sister’s voice, Kayla smiled.
”Ehh, notta; just arguing with myself.” She said as she leaned back against the headboard. Talking to LJ always helped with whatever stressful situation Kayla was dealing with.
”Hmm, well who’s winning that argument?” LJ asked in amusement.
Kayla thought for a moment and glanced around the room. ”Whether or not I should just disappear before Ryann dismantles me.” Admitting that truth was the first step. “I’m starting to think this might have all been a mistake LJ. I am nowhere near experienced enough to face that bitch.” She bit down on her lower lip which was a trait she took on when she was anxious, good or bad.
”Would you stop and listen to what you’re saying Kayla? Do you really doubt that you can make it through?” LJ voice had a hint of disbelief to it. ”Even though you are my big sister I am going to scold you. Ryann may have more experience at this game than you do, but you have something Horse-Face doesn’t.”
”Oh yeah? And what might that be?” Kayla asked as she leaned forward, resting her chin on her hand.
”A little something I liked to call ‘The Mama Bear Syndrome’.” LJ said confidently and Kayla could tell her younger sister was smiling through the phone.
”Now you’re just making shit up.” Kayla said with one of her patented eye rolls. ”As much as I love you LJ, I am hanging up.”
Kayla could hear LJ groan in annoyance.”Now just stop for one minute and listen to me okay?” Kayla sighed which gave LJ the cue to continue. ”Look at things from this perspective; picture yourself as a Mama Bear and Mark as one of your cubs so to speak. Ryann has come in and fucked with one of your cubs and the only instinct you have is to protect said cub. Get what I’m saying?”
Kayla raised an eyebrow as she could kind of understand what her sister was saying but not completely. ”Not quite, elaborate please?”
”Gladly. When you’re standing face to face with Ryann tomorrow just think up how badly she’s treated Mark. I guarantee you will find the rage and frustration you need to beat the living shit out of her. “ She paused for a moment and then continued. ”You can do this Kay, don’t lose faith in yourself now. If you’re unsure of yourself then that is just going to make it easy for her to underestimate you.”
Kayla thought for a moment and nodded. LJ was right, all she had to do was think about all the pain Mark had been put through and the rage she needed to take Ryann down would be there. Finally a small smirk crossed her face. ”You my dear little sister are one hundred percent right. You’ve given me a lot to think about and I thank you for that. Now if you will excuse me, I am going to get off of here and do some thinking.”
”Notta problem Sissy, love you.”
”Love you to.” Kayla said in return as the two ended their call. It was amazing how a few words of encouragement from LJ was all she needed to get the focus she needed.
Kayla set her phone back down on the night table and slid off the bed. She walked back over to the window she had been standing in front of before and looked back at the beautiful Russian scenery. She then began to think about all she had seen Mark go through with her own eyes. That alone caused her smirk to turn into a hateful sneer as she dropped her hands at her side. She started clenching and unclenching her fists repeatedly. Finally she narrowed her eyes and glared, saying only this.
“It’s on you fucking Bitch.”
