[Jaxan Donimari had wished that there could have been more to do in order to help his sister deal with her grief, but he knew there wasn't. He had made it back home early morning after his niece had passed. He had showed up at the hospital with a pink stuffed bear and a boquet of flowers in hand that had a small 'Get Well Soon" balloon that was stuck in the soil that held the flowers. He had come to the hospital with the hopes of getting to see his beloved niece and try to give her some encouragement in order to kick whatever it was she was sick with. After he got off of the elevator that came to the pediatrics floor, he walked down the hallway looking for Haylie's hospital room. When he entered the doorway of the room he noticed a nurse changing the sheets on the bed. He raised an eyebrow as he held the gifts at his sides.]

Jaxan Donimari: Excuse me Miss, I'm looking for Haylie Donimari-Roberts? [The nurse stopped what she was doing, turned, and looked at him.] I'm her uncle and my sister said that she was in room four o' three. I could be wrong though, I have just gotten off of a ten hour flight.

Nurse: You aren't wrong Sir. [She looked at him sympathetically as she picked up a pillow to put a new case on it.] This was your niece's room, unfortunately she passed away just a few hours ago.

Jaxan Donimari: [He could only stare at the nurse and shook his head. She had to be wrong.] I think it's you who's wrong. When I last talked to my sister they said that Haylie was just running a high fever...

Nurse: She was but after the doctors ran tests it turned out that she had come down with a case of meningitis. When they finally caught the infection had spread throughout her whole body and her fever ended up being way too high. [She wasn't quite sure what else to say.] I am sorry though, they did absolutely everything they could but things were just too severe.

[Jaxan said nothing as he turned and walked out of the room. He couldn't believe what the nurse had just told him. He had to talk to Charity and hoped that perhaps the hospital had discharged Haylie. In fact that's what he convinced himself had happened as he breathed a sigh of relief and left the hospital so that he could head on over to Charity's. His sister lived about twenty minutes away and since it was early morning and there wasn't that much traffic he was able to make it in fifteen. He noticed there were a few cars in Charity's drive-way and the lights were on in the house. He had a sinking feeling things weren't all well as he had hoped. He swallowed hard as he had a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach. He slowly got out of his car and shut the door driver's side door. He slowly walked up the sidewalk until he came to the front porch. He grabbed the doorknob and turned it, pushing the door opened. He heard voices coming from the living room and they sounded somber, he kept denying to himself what he knew was true as he slowly made his way through the house. He just stood in the doorway of the living room and looked at the people who were in his sister's house; his cousin Misty, Christian and Cecelia Taylor, Charity was seated on the middle of the couch with Cecelia on one side of her an arm around her shoulders as Misty was on the other side of her. They didn't notice him at first as he just stood there.]

Cecelia Taylor: Honey I know you've heard this a million times tonight but you made the right decision. [She let Charity rest her head on her shoulder as she rubbed her back.] You did what you had to do and nobody will ever fault you for that.

Charity Donimari: I just feel like there was something else I should have been able to do. [She wiped her nose with the sleeve of her sweatshirt and shook her head.] A mother's job is to keep her child safe and healthy, it's not that hard of a job and I couldn't do it.

Jaxan Donimari: [Hearing his sister blame herself hurt him as he walked over and knelt in front of her. He cupped her face in his hands and looked at her.] Cherry listen to me Sweetie okay? You are an excellent mother and no one is ever going to tell you otherwise. I wasn't with you tonight but I'm one hundred percent sure you did what you had to do. [He looked her in the eyes as she was silently sobbing.] Do not keep blaming yourself for this. [She said nothing as he wrapped his arms around her and held her close. He moved so that he was sitting on the couch with Charity still in his arms. He looked around at everyone.] Where's Jaxy at?

Misty Donimari: Brandon and Michael are with him. There was so much chaos when we got back to the house and he couldn't sleep so they took him to Steak N Shake to get some ice cream.

Jaxan Donimari: Michael's here? [Upon hearing that he immediately became angry but he just shook his head. He looked at Christian then.] You have anything you can give her to sleep?

Charity Donimari: I don't want to take anything Jax, doesn't matter if I were to because I wouldn't be able to sleep.

Dr. Christian Taylor: Perhaps you don't want to take anything but I agree with your brother that you should take something. [He had brought his medical bag with him as he opened it. He took out a syringe and a small glass bottle filled with some sort of sedative.] The worst thing you can do right now is let yourself get fatigued. [He emptied the sedative into the syringe and walked over to Charity, he knelt in front of her and gently grabbed her arm.] It's going to pinch slightly but within moments you'll be ready to pass out.

Jaxan Donimari: [He felt her tense up as Christian stuck her with the needle.] Why don't you let me put you to bed Charity? It'll be the best thing for you.

[Christian had finished giving her the sedative as Jaxan helped her to her feet. He led her to the upstairs area and within moments they had made it into the bedroom. He sat her down and began to turn down the covers. Charity sat there just staring off as Jaxan finished with the bed and helped her into it. He was greatful for the fact that the sedative Christian had given her was taking a quick affect. Her emotional and mental fatigue was apparent and it was no wonder that her physical being soon caught up with her. The two of them didn't speak to one another as Jaxan pulled the covers up over her and she was soon asleep. He left the room and was considering heading out to Silver Pulse to have a few drinks. Perhaps he should've stayed with Charity in case she needed him but at this time he needed time to himself. As he was walking down the hall he came to Haylie's nursery. He paused for a moment and was planning on walking in there, however he was stopped as he saw Michael Roberts standing in there. Anger overtook him as he set his glare on the man standing in front of him. He stepped forward and shook his head.]

Jaxan Donimari: Hey don't you think it's about time you got back to Texas? [Michael turned and looked ay him.] I mean that is where you were the whole time Haylie was alive. [Michael started to say something as Jax put his hand up in front of him.] Wait a minute I'm way off base here, you weren't just in Texas, a lot of the time you were also in Los Angeles fucking Melanie Anderson while my sister raised your kid.

Michael Roberts: Don't give me shit Jaxan, I just lost my daughter.

Jaxan Donimari: No, you lost an extension of yourself. My sister is the one who lost her daughter. [He shook his head.] Don't even try to get my sympathy because it'd be a waste of your time and of mine. The fact remains that you spent so much time living up your mid-life crisis that you couldn't take any time out to spend it with your kid. Now you're never going to get it, kind of serves you right though. [He shook his head and turned his body.] Piece of shit.

[Jaxan then walked downstairs and left the house. There was just too much going on for him to handle and he wasn't quite sure that he wanted to handle any of it. He opted to head on over to Silver Pulse to have some drinks and just clear his mind. Haylie's death was very fresh for him, so fresh that he felt numb to it all. He knew that if he didn't get mind-altering into his system soon that he was going to start feeling the pain of losing the niece who was close to being his daughter. When he arrived at Silver Pulse the place was packed with Silver Lake's Social Scene. He was granted entry into the club and immediately went to the bar where he ordered a glass of straight Jaguermeister. As the bartender served him his glass, Jaxan turned just in time to see Sebastian Gates, who happened to be a good friend of his. Jaxan offered him a nod as he walked toward him.]

Jaxan Donimari: Hey Man, what's going down?

Sebastian Gates: [Surprised to see Jaxan there, he nodded his head in return.] Not much man...just taking in a drink or three...you?

Jaxan Donimari: Same. [He took a drink of his Jaguer and shook his head.] Saw your woman over at my sister's place with Christian.

Sebastian Gates: [His forehead wrinkle as he moved in his chair.] Was she? Why was she there visiting your sister?

Jaxan Donimari: Guess you didn't hear. [He took a seat in an empty char and placed his drink down on a table.] My niece died a few hours ago. Cecelia was there for moral support and Christian was there to dope her full of tranquillizers.

Sebastian Gates: Really? [He slowly put his drink down.] I didn't hear... I'm sorry to hear. If she passed away, what are you doing here and aren't with your sister giving her some support?

Jaxan Donimari: Needed to clear my head. Plus my sister's shit-head ex was there and I really didn't want to deal with him. [He shrugged his shoulders.] What about you though? With Cecelia being pregnant I figured you'd be with her.

Sebastian Gates: I have nine months of spending time with her. [He slowly reached out and grabbed his drink, holding it.] So, if I want to come here and get in a few drinks, no crime in that.

Jaxan Donimari: None at all. [He sat back in his chair.] Everything okay though? Can't put my finger on it but things seem kind of off with you.

Sebastian Gates: No... [He shook his head.] ...everything is okay with me. Just tired, been working many hours. This is really one of the few times I can get a break, I'm enjoying it.

Jaxan Donimari: How goes it in your relationship? [He took another drink from his glass.] Gotta admit I was surprised when I found out you guys had made it official.

Sebastian Gates: I think everyone was...especially myself but it's umm... [He shrugs.] ..okay. Well I mean great, Darrell is great. We are just one big happy family.

Jaxan Donimari: [He raised an eyebrow.] You sure about that? I can detect a bit of disdaine in your voice.

Sebastian Gates: We are having another kid... [He sighs.] ...I don't know, you said it yourself. No one exactly saw this life for me right? I sure as hell didn't, you think I've gotten used it completely? Work, home, work, home...what happened to my old life?

Jaxan Donimari: Well for starters you had a kid and weren't a rock star anymore. [He shrugged his shoulders.] You not happy about having another kid?

Sebastian Gates: I really don't know. Part of me who wanted this life is happy. The other part of me who hated this life is upset, so it's hard to say.

Jaxan Donimari: You thinking of calling it quits with Cece? [He raised an eyebrow as he looked at his friend.]

Sebastian Gates: [He shook his head.] No...none of that. That isn't really exactly what I was trying to say. Then again I don'tk now what I'm trying to say. Just one thing... [He sighs.] ...I slept with someone who wasn't Cececlia.

Jaxan Donimari: [His eyes went wide.] You're shitting me right? [He shook his head.] Well did you tell her, I mean did she find out?

Sebastian Gates: No...I won't tell her, why would I? You really think she would forgive me? She hasn't found out, just I don't know.. I thought once we got back together my life was going to be in order and I wouldn't do such things any more.

Jaxan Donimari: Well what about the chick you slept with? [He grabbed his glass.] Anyone you know? [He took a drink.] Or just a one night stand?

Sebastian Gates: Should I even mention her name to you, to anyone. To find out it is someone, someone that anyone could possibly know? [He shook his head.] It was just a one night stand, at least on my part. She took my number but I've avoided her after a while.

Jaxan Donimari: If I were you I'd keep doing what you're doing. Cecelia finds out about this, especially with her being pregnant who knows what it do to her. [He shook his head.] My sister went through the same thing when she was pregnant with Haylie, so yeah keep it under wraps as long as you can.

Sebastian Gates: If you know what your sister went through then why would you be giving me advice to keep it under wraps? The way this girl was talking, just made it seem it's something I should worry about... [He shook his head.] ...this is hard. She doesn't deserve this.

Jaxan Donimari: I'm giving you advice because unlike Charity's ex, you aren't a scumbag. You really do love Cecelia and you're taking care of your kids. [He sat back and began to tap his fingers on the table.] Who you talking about doesn't deserve this though, Cecelia or the chick you slept with.

Sebastian Gates: I know... [He finished off his drink before putting it back on the table.] ...then let me give you advice and say that you shouldn't be here. I'm sorry for your loss, but who probably needs you most right now is your sister.

Jaxan Donimari: [He looked down at the table and shook his head.] Right now I can't be at that house. I know Charity needs me but right now none of this feels real. I need a chance to let it sink in before I'm there for my sister. [He rubbed his jaw.] Maybe that makes me an asshole but I gotta deal with things my own way.

Sebastian Gates: Nah it doesn't...you gotta deal with it your own way. [He shook his head.] That is the only best way to deal with things sometimes. Gues I know that feeling in a different way, is that all that is troubling you?

Jaxan Donimari: I really can't say. You know I flew home because I knew she was sick and I wanted to be by her side. I seriously thought when I got home that she'd be fine but she wasn't and so now I've gotta live with the fact that I didn't even get to tell her goodbye. [He sighed and swallowed hard.] But I'm not going to dwell as soon as I finish up here I'm going back to the house and going to do what needs to be done.

Sebastian Gates: You never know what is going to happen sometimes. You think it's just a false alarm and then it happens... [He shook his head.] ...she knew you loved her, that's all that mattered.

Jaxan Donimari: [He nodded] Yeah I know. [He looked up at Sebastian.] Do me a favor and let your girl know how much you love her, life's too short you know?

Sebastian Gates: [He nodded his head, slowly getting up from the chair.] Maybe I should be on my way to do that. I know exactly what you mean, I'll see you around?

Jaxan Donimari: [He nodded also.] Yeah, I'll probably see you at the funeral.

[The two parted ways as Jaxan had a few more drinks and then left Silver Pulse. By the time he headed back to Charity's the lights were off and there was no sign of anyone. Instead of going into the house he just sat outside for a while to take in everything he had experienced for the day. He wasn't exactly sure how he was going to help his sister or even how he was going to help himself get through losing Haylie. He wasn't all together sure they ever would get through it. All he could do was deal with it all the best way he knew how despite whatever consequences might be awaiting him.]
