Thomas James Gates: You know I'm really starting to worry how you find out about the places I am going to be at.
Jessica Knix: Who me? [She asked as she turned and looked at him.] You make it sound like I'm stalking you or something.
Thomas James Gates: You might be? [He grinned, leaning on the bar counter.] Honestly, what are you doing here, no bullshit either.
Jessica Knix: [She stared at him for a moment and raised her eyebrows.] Just enjoying the music and atmosphere like everyone else. Is that a problem for you Thomas?
Thomas James Gates: Thomas? [He smirked.] No that isn't a problem, but hmm, just as always, surprised to see you.
Jessica Knix: For all I know it's you stalking me. [She shrugged her shoulders.] After all these times we've run into each other, I didn't think you'd be so surprised to see me by now.
Thomas James Gates: Yeah, I guess you're right. [He took a seat on the available stool next to her.] Especially after the other night, right? What was the other night again?
Jessica Knix: We were both at Walgreens around One AM or so. I don't know about you but I was picking up a prescription.
Thomas James Gates: Yeah...what a wild night huh?
Jessica Knix: Spending four hours in the emergency room with a sprained wrist. Oh yeah, loads of fun.
Thomas James Gates: [He laughed.] Just like you to be clumsy right?
Jessica Knix: {She nodded and smirked.] Well maybe next time you'll be there to catch me when I fall.
Thomas James Gates: Guess if I'm actually around to do so, you know you telling me ahead of time, I might be.
Jessica Knix: Ehhh you never know. [She took a drink from her beer and didn't quite know what to say.] Soooo here with Jenna tonight?
Thomas James Gates: You know that was a one time thing, it was actually something that shouldn't happen in the first place. But what's up with you, pretending like the other night didn't happen.
Jessica Knix: What do you want me to say? [She sighed.] I don't hear from you and I'm supposed to act like everything's kosier?
Thomas James Gates: I'm supposed to call, we kissed, we spent the rest of the night together. I don't know what that actually meant, you know I'm just not ready for a relationship.
Jessica Knix: And there's nothing wrong with that. But you're the one who is making some sort of issue about me not acting like the other night didn't happen. What do you want from me?
Thomas James Gates: I don't want anything from you...just, you don't need to ignore it do you?
Jessica Knix: I'm not ignoring, I've just moved on from it.
Thomas James Gates: Oh yeah, to what someone else?
Jessica Knix: Oh yeah because I'm some huge slut right? [She set her drink down and crossed her arms.] Screw you.
Thomas James Gates: Hey, calm down alright. I didn't say it, I said I believed you the other night, didn't I?
Jessica Knix: [She sighed and nodded.] Yeah you did. Look, why are you getting so weird about all of this?
Thomas James Gates: I'm not... I'm just trying to figure you and me out. Doesn't really matter though right? We are all figured out.
Jessica Knix: You really think that huh? Well for your information I'm more confused as it pretains to you than ever.
Thomas James Gates: Then let's clear it up right, I'm not into a serious relationship. Better yet...just we aren't attracted to one another, the other night. I was messed up, but I do like your friendship, just can we handle being friends?
Jessica Knix: [Hearing him say that he wasn't attracted to her kind of threw her off. She quickly saved face though and nodded.] Yeah I suppose there's no harm in just being friends, whatever you want Tommy.
Thomas James Gates: Now it's Tommy? What's up with all these weird names you have for me?
Jessica Knix: You're name is Thomas and we're friends so I didn't think you'd care if I called you Tommy.
Thomas James Gates: Well at least stick to one name. Yeah, friends...it's fine, but I think for my sake, stick with TJ.
Jessica Knix: All right, fine, whatever you want TJ. [She made sure she emphasized TJ as she took a long swallow of her drink.] I'm surprised you haven't ragged on me yet about my brief television stardome.
Thomas James Gates: Oh come, you know that isn't me, but I'll bag on Bret Michaels, now did you really like that guy? Or was it bullshit?
Jessica Knix: [She nodded.] Yeah I did but he's in the past and going on there was a mistake. Besides it really aggrivates me because they portrayed me as a whiney little bitch.
Thomas James Gates: Eh, they'll do whatever it takes in order to get some publicity, if you know that isn't you that is all that matters. Besides, your best career move was Playboy.
Jessica Knix: [A smile broke out on her face.] You think so huh? I didn't know you had seen any of my photos. You never mentioned it.
Thomas James Gates: Hey, I didn't say I saw it... [He grinned.] ...just my brother was a fan that's all.
Jessica Knix: [She laughs to herself and brushes some hair out of her eyes.] Tell me the truth, did you see it or not?
Thomas James Gates: I guess we'll never know, maybe I did, maybe I didn't.
Jessica Knix: Come on, tell me the truth. Don't leave me guessing.
Thomas James Gates: I don't read that trashy stuff, come on. [He smiled, sitting back.] But I'm sure you are smart and you know when to make something tasteful, right?
Jessica Knix: I wouldn't have done it if it wasn't tasteful Bucko. [She found herself becoming more attracted to him as well as the fact that she was slightly drunk.] So any other plans for tonight.
Thomas James Gates: No, not really, just came here, hoping to create plans as I go.
Jessica Knix: [She leaned forward and whispered in his ear.] Maybe you and I can create some together.
Thomas James Gates: [TJ's eyes only widen but he knew he would be making a mistake, placing his hands on her arms.] Whoa...did we have a little too much to drink?
Jessica Knix: No I think I had just enough. [She put an arm around his neck, leaned in on the other side and hugged him close as she kept whispering.] I can make the other night look like child's play compared to what I'll do tonight.
Thomas James Gates: I"m sure you could. [He slowly unwrapped her arms from him, getting up.] I'm going to make a call for a cab for you, you really should get home.
Jessica Knix: Oh I see, you think I can't handle my alcohol right? [She shook her head in anger.] I'm not a fucking child.
Thomas James Gates: Calm down, it isn't that, you just don't want to do something stupid, especially when we are supposed to be friends, right?
Jessica Knix: And we were supposed to be just friends the other night to right? [She crossed her arms.] I can really tell you were thinking that while I was on top of you.
Thomas James Gates: [He laughed a little.] Alright, yeah, right. But that was then this is now, you don't want to make a fool of yourself do you?
Jessica Knix: I made a fool of myself the moment I started liking you.
Thomas James Gates: Jess, you don't really want to do this now do you?
Jessica Knix: So what if I do? What's wrong with making a scene? Gives the bloggers something to talk about, right?
Thomas James Gates: And you think that is a good thing? [TJ slowly walked over to her, trying to force her to get up.] Forget it I'll drive you home.
Jessica Knix: [She narrowed her eyes at him.] Aren't you afraid I might try to fuck you?
Thomas James Gates: You know what Jess... [He let her go.] ...I'll let you deal with your own thing, I'm going to deal with mine.
Jessica Knix: [Out of the corner of her eye she spotted Ethan Marshall as a sly smile crossed her face.] You know what? I see somebody that'll apprieciate my company, so why don't I get out of your hair?
[She turned and left TJ to himself as she walked toward Ethan who was getting a drink at the bar. She had known him for years as he was good friends with her twin brother Hunter. She forced a smile as she walked to where he was. She walked up behind him and tapped his shoulder. As he turned and looked at her, she smiled softly.]
Jessica Knix: Hey Stranger, it's been a while.
Ethan Rishon Marshall: Hey Jess, [He took a moment to look her over, and could tell she had been drinking] You here for Happy Hour?
Jessica Knix: [She shrugged and continued to force her smile.] Just enjoying the scenery and the people. [She glanced back to TJ and then focused on Ethan.] Well most of them anyway, not to mention the booze.
Ethan Rishon Marshall: Oh... I was just here for the barbeque wings... [He just laughed] Kidding, I was actually here with a friend, you have any company with you tonight?
Jessica Knix: I thought for a little while that I did but I was wrong. [She slurred her words a bit and placed a hand on the bar so she didn't fall over.] I'm doing good though.
Ethan Rishon Marshall: need a ride home or something?
Jessica Knix: [She shook her head.] I only live about five minutes away, I'm going to hang out here for a little while and then trying walking it.
Ethan Rishon Marshall: Uh I don't think so, you can barely sit and you think you can make it walking somewhere? Come on I'll take you home Jess.
Jessica Knix: Are you sure you want to do that? [She bit down on her lower lip.] I'm feeling kind of touchy feely and the last thing I want to do is put you in any sort of uncomfortable situation E.
Ethan Rishon Marshall: [He just laughed at her as he helped her up from her seat] Trust me I think I'm past feeling uncomfortable with anyone right about now. Come on and I promise I'll get you home safe, and hopefully in the morning when you're sober you'll have a major hangover.
[Jessica couldn't argue with him as he slid an arm around her shoulders and led her out of the building. It wasn't long before she and Ethan were back at her house. He helped her in and shut the door behind them. What happened for the rest of that night is only known to Jessica and Ethan.]
