I'm doing the best I can
[She had decided that coming to Silver Lake was her best bet in order to get her life together which was a sincere mess. In the past year since she went away things had g0tten better but they still weren't good. There were some serious changes she still needed to make and one of those was getting herself out of being a stripper but at the time being that was not in the cards as of yet as she had to make money to support she and her son. At this time she was backstage at DeJa Vu, the strip club where she worked, studying her appearance. Finally she exhaled and was given the cue that she was to go on. The song she was dancing to this evening was 'Buttons' by the Pussycat Dolls feat. Snoop Dog. She made her way out to the stage and began to dance. She was onstage for a good two minutes when she saw someone in the audience that she had hoped not to see in Silver Lake any time soon. Her face went pale as she awkwardly finished her dance and ran backstage to hide in one of the dressing rooms. As she began to regain whatever composure she had lost, she heard the door to the dressing room open and she turned to see her brother Joey standing there looking angry.]

Sharon Hendrix: You aren't supposed to be back here Joey...[She began as her voice quivered.] I could get fired.

Joseph Hendrix: It doesn't matter to me if you get fired or not, where you going to tell someone that you were around?

Sharon Hendrix: [She shrugged as she turned to the vanity mirror and started to take off her make-up] When I was settled Joe. I swear I was going to let you know soon.

Joseph Hendrix: You made sure that no one even knew where you were. [He looked around the place, he almost seemed disgusted to know his sister was working there.] I don't believe you.

Sharon Hendrix: What do you want me to say? I'm sorry okay, I should've told you when I got into town but I didn't. Do you think I wanted you or Chase to know I was stripping?

Joseph Hendrix: [He stared down, shaking his head as he stepped closer.] Well Jeez, how long has this been going on?

Sharon Hendrix: For a while I guess. I have a son to take care of and I have to pay the bills. It may not be the best kind of job but at least I'm able to keep up with the bills.

Joseph Hendrix: But you don't think you can come to your "family" and ask us to help you out, it's beter then this place. [He sighed.] I just don't really know what to say to you.

Sharon Hendrix: I'm sorry okay? [She exhaled and swallowed hard. She turned and looked at Joey as her bottom lip quivered.] I'm not proud of what I'm doing Joe and the last thing I wanted was you or Chase to know how bad off I am.

Joseph Hendrix: At least it would of been good to know that you were okay. [He looked around the dressing room, he really dispised his sister being there.] Are you getting off soon?

Sharon Hendrix: [She glanced up at the clock and then looked back at him.] In about a half an hour. I have to get home though, Kyler's sitter doesn't like if it I'm late.

Joseph Hendrix: The sitter doesn't like it when your late, aren't you paying them? [He questioned.] Really Sharon...I know you are better then all of this.

Sharon Hendrix: You're the only person that knows that then. [She paused as she grabbed a hair tie and pulled her hair back into a ponytail.] I'm doing what I have to do and right now this is what I have to do. There isn't anywhere else I'd make the kind of money that I'm making here.

Joseph Hendrix: And why do you believe it would be a damn shame to ask me or something. You know for a while I didn't think you were alright and all this shit. Why do you feel like you have no one to rely on?

Sharon Hendrix: Honestly? [She looked at him and he nodded.] I really don't know, I just feel like I only can depend on myself. I wish to God that I didn't have this impulse to handle everything on my own but that's how I am.

Joseph Hendrix: I can't speak for anyone else but myself to tell you that I'm here, I've always been here. [He shrugged.] So I don't know what that means to you.

Sharon Hendrix: You're my brother Joey and I love that you want to help me but this is something I have to do on my own. [She exhaled as she swallowed hard.] Please understand...

Joseph Hendrix: Understand that you much rather strip then come and ask me for help? What the hell...I don't understand.

Sharon Hendrix: I really don't want to talk about this anymore. [She walked over to where her things were and started to pack them up.] I'm doing what I have to do and let's leave it at that.

Joseph Hendrix: Fine, since you know what is best for you. Actually you must be doing pretty damn good now.

[He looked around if she really wanted this for herself who was he to stop her. Joey left as Sharon watched him go, she felt extremely low and tried to put it out of her mind as she finished changing to head on home for the evening. She had to pick up her son from the sitter's and then head to Leslie's house where she was staying. Within an hour she had picked up Kyler and had pulled into Leslie's drive-way. She turned off the car, got out and got Kyler out of his car-seat. He was sleeping and when she walked into Leslie's house, she noticed her friend was still up and in the kitchen. Sharon gave her a smile as she laid Kyler down on a nearby couch and walked into the kitchen where she got herself a can of Pepsi from the fridge.]

Sharon Hendrix: Hey I'm surprised you're still up, couldn't sleep?

Leslie Harper: Something like that... [She looked at her.] ...shouldn't you rush to get some sleep?

Sharon Hendrix: Not really in the mood to sleep. [She took a seat on a stool.] Joey was in the club tonight and walked in right as I was on stage. [She swallowed hard.] He now knows I'm in town and what I'm doing.

Leslie Harper: Why are you bothered with your brother knowing that you are in town? Maybe he really misses you and wants to help you out.

Sharon Hendrix: I know it doesn't make sense to anyone else but I'm the older sister and I should be the one with my life together. I just didn't want him to know Kyler and I were here until everything was together.

Leslie Harper: I think it's better for him to know that you are okay then to know nothing at all. [She shook her head walking around the counter to were Sharon was.] If we pretend to live a lie, it eventually catches up to us.

Sharon Hendrix: I'm not living a lie-- I know exactly what kind of life I'm living. A shitty one.

Leslie Harper: Then maybe you should be a little more open. I have no place to say anything, just... [She sighed.] ...I worry about you, you know?

Sharon Hendrix: [She nodded] I know Les and I apprieciate it. [She looked at her friend.] I don't know what I'd do without you.

Leslie Harper: You would probably be lost without me, then again... I really don't know how found I am. Just, do you feel you are doing the right things right now?

[Sharon nodded and not long after Leslie headed off to bed. Sharon finished her Pepsi and then went over to the couch where Kyler was and picked him up. He was sleeping so soundly and she hoped that she didn't wake him up. She gently made her way to her room she shared with her son and laid him in bed. Soon she was changed into a pair of sweatpants and a T-shirt and found herself in bed. She snuggled up to her son. She didn't sleep that night though because all she could think of was seeing her brother and how disappointed he was in her. She needed his help because she didn't want to strip forever. Her son deserved better than that as did she.]
