WWEA RP #01: The throne awaits
RHane.

It is hours before the show. The
sounds of laughter echo of the baron arena. The
sounds are not that of a children playing or that
of a joke being heard. No, the laughter though elongated
is short and raspy. It’s reminiscent of the old
cartoons with the evil scientist; yet, it’s more
closely related to a short chuckle. In truth, it
would be hard to give the noise justice. It’s being
preformed by a man that is just as complicated;
a man who has had a history of conflicted and epic
proportions. A camera zooms in on the laughter to
reveal that man to be ReDD RHane who, in eight years
time, has proclaimed himself a Hardcore Icon.
The wrestling world has been without
RHane now for almost a year. Things have changed
a lot in his absence but one thing still remains:
his passion for the business. And as long as there
are still people in the seats RHane will never completely
retire; if not in body, at least in spirit. RHane
wears his usual clothes – Tattered jeans and a black
t-shirt. His face is unshaven and it looks like
he hasn’t slept in days. He sits in the middle of
the ring on a stool hunched over.
“One week, one week is all it
took for me to make an enemy here. It seems that
no matter where I go, what I do, or what I say,
it never takes me long to find a combatant to name
me as a threat. It wasn’t even officially announced
yet that I was going to be a part of this organization.
I simply hinted at the fact that something was in
my sight and the very next day one superstar had
to get on their high horse and retaliate. Well,
I am not impressed. Everywhere I go people all the
same thing. It just shows how conceited people can
be. I have been in this business for almost nine
years. In this business that makes me a veteran.
I have lost my fair share of blood and sweat and
anyone who thinks so lightly of me has another thing
coming!”
RHane sits up and walks to the
ropes that haven’t yet been tightened all the way
so when he goes to lean on them the stretch pretty
low to the ground. He’s silent for a moment as if
thinking of what to say next. Or maybe it has to
do with not wanting to say what he is about to.
“Yes, it may be true that I have
been out of the game for a while and to be completely
honest I do have some ring rust to remove. That
is not to say that I am still not in great shape
and still have a passion for this business like
very few men can say. I will continue to dominate
in this company just as I have been. This time however
I have an advantage right away...”
He stands straight up and walks
in circles in the ring for a while before starting
a chuckle again.
“This time I get to start off
in the ‘King of the Ring’ Tournament. EIGHT superstars
go toe to toe in SEVEN different matches to crown
ONE King. I have every intentions of being that
one man. King RHane sounds like such a great title.
It rolls right off the tongue, doesn’t it! From
there, I plan to go on and win the ECW Championship.
Imagine King RHane the Hardcore Icon as the ECW
Champion. I would be the greatest asset to this
sport entertainment show.”
RHane stops for a while and looks
up in the rafters of the arena. His eyes are glazed
over and a smile on his face. An earthquake couldn’t
shake his current trance. His prophecy may finally
come true, as this has been a dream of RHane’s ever
since he was a lost child in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Orphaned, lost and all alone, RHane’s entire life,
has been a constant struggle to prove that his life
wasn’t meaningless. He has been traveling the world
in hopes that some day someone might recognize him
and he could be reunited with his family who left
him behind almost twenty years ago.
Things have certainly changed
over the years. RHane has since changed his mind
set and instead of hoping that he could be reunites
with family, other than his brother, he mostly just
wants to prove that someone who was left for the
wolves could not only survive the world but make
his life mean something. Yeah, it would be safe
to assume that RHane has some family issues, but
can anyone really blame the guy?
Everyone has a past, a history.
Some are just more incongruent than others. The
traumatic incidence forever scarred the man now
known as ReDD RHane and made him the man he is today.
If not for the fact that his parents thought he
was such a mistake to have, RHane would not be here
today. RHane’s life is a testament to all people
who have had a broken home.
RHane recovers from his trance
the smile remains as he continues to talk.
"So this Monday, Raw and ECW
merge together to form the King of the Ring
tournament. The winner gets bragging rights as
to who would be the greatest wrestler in the
company. The only thing that could be considered
any greater would be the championship. Even then
one might not be so sure. Since when do you have
eight matches to show one supreme ruler; not
very often."
"The winner would be in three
matches and still come out victorious. Not many
have the stamina to endure such pain. The body
is not designed for such torment. I, on the
other hand have been broken, beaten and battered
for most of my life. I have sustained enough
injuries and lost enough blood that these three
matches will be like a walk in the park. There
is no doubt in my mind that I will overcome the
obstacles barricading my path to glory."
"Normally what you would see in
a situation like this is someone talking down on
all of their opponents to try and get the advantage.
I thought I would go a different route and see if
I can say any positive notes while giving my thoughts
on the outcome of this epic night. So without any
further delay here goes: The first match is me versus
Spike
Dudley… Spike may be a runt but he
too has been in a situation that allows him to
overcome the torture this match has set before
him. Of all the men that I have to face, or
might face, I am looking forward to this one the
most."
"Here’s a guy who also has
lost his fair share of blood. Spike is the
epiphany of everything I stand for. In any
normal circumstances he would never win a battle
nor would he even have any right to even be in
the same arena with most of these guys. But he
has something that most men lost a long time
ago. That thing is heart, and he has a lot of
it. The thing about Spike is he knows he has
little chance of overcoming the odds but he
keeps coming back. He loves the business too
much to give up and quit, it’s an admiral trait
that not many have… However dedication can only
go so far."
"In the second match it will
be Evan Bourne and Jake Storm. There is not much
to say about the high flier Evan Bourne. The
kids got spirit and he’s a phenomenal
entertainer- with all his fancy moves. He’s got
incredible charisma as well. I think if he was
going up against another of his size he would
have no problems winning..."
"Then there is Jake Storm. A
man so egotistical and conceited he has no time
to think about wrestling, only himself. This is
a guy who thinks he’s so good looking; he
probably has wet dreams about himself! There’s
nothing good for me to say about him. I’ve never
heard of the guy. Not to say he’s not been
around - I just don’t know. I will have to watch
him in action before making a honest decision
about him."
"Either way though being as
they have a match at the PPV where they are
going to destroy each other I don’t know if
either of them are going to have time to worry
about the King of the Ring Tournament. Even if
they do they will both be so battered that once
they hit the competition it’ll be over as
quickly as the match starts!"
"The next match has Buh Buh Ray
squaring off against Cody Rhodes and the last match
in the first round has
Devon
contesting with Ted DiBiase, Jr. The
Dudleys, or whatever name you want
to call them, are the greatest tag team this
industry has ever seen, period. They have won
the tag team championships together twenty
times! And I am only counting the major
promotions. The only that may have anything to
say about that is the Legion of Doom, and well
unfortunately one of them is gone."
"Team Priceless… I don’t know
what to say about them.. They are relatively
newcomers who’s parents where once major
commodities in this organization. Stuck up,
conceited and completely full of them selves!
They are young however, and do have talent that
you can only get from being around wrestling
your entire life."
"Since it’s been announced
that these are the matches, Team 3D hasn’t even
made an appearance. For that reason alone I
nominate Priceless to win in the first round.
But the fact is they are all tag team division
superstars and in singles competition they serve
no chance in winning this competition."
RHane pulls out a piece of paper
out of his pocket and unfolds it. He moves the stool
over to the corner of the ring and sits back down
putting his feet up on the second rope.
"I have no doubt in my mind that
I will become victorious and the way I see it this
will be the outcome: I will beat Spike. Cody will
beat Buh Buh, Jake will beat Evan Bourne and Ted
will beat Devon in round one. Round two should have
me facing Cody and of course me beating the snot
out of him while Jake Storm loses to Ted Jr. And
in the main event to determine the King of the Ring
will me squaring of against Ted Jr, It should be
a great match that will show exactly who has the
determination to win this thing. I have been
wrong before but in this case I have to win the
match. There is no other way. By the end of the
Raw show I will prove to every doubter in the
locker room just who ReDD RHane is and there
will no longer be anyone who can doubt my
power!"
The segment ends with the RHane’s
laughter continuing.
