"The belt is gone..."

The scene opens Hollywood, California, inside the 20th Century FOX studios. We see Sara Pettis, along with her cousin Kotomi as they enter the administration offices of the animation department. Sara has a meeting with some of the cast and crew today for the movie she is hoping to be a part of, despite her step-father’s apparent reluctance. As they walk in, they are greeted by a receptionist, and lead to a conference room within the building. The room is empty, except for a few unknown people. They all turn and look at Sara and Kotomi as they walk in, before going back to the conversation they were having prior to their arrival. Sara and Kotomi just look at each other before deciding to sit down at the table in the center of the room the rest are sitting at.

”Kotomi, I thought you said this was a cast and crew meeting?" Sara asks her cousin,"Where is everybody? "

"I don’t know," Kotomi tells her, "Kevin-san from RWA just told me to bring you here."

The cousin’s conversation apparently gets picked up by one of the other occupants of the room. A middle aged man, wearing a suit, that is sitting next to Kotomi, and across from Sara.

”You must be the new one. My name is Ryan Kelly, I represent Mr. Romano.” He tells them.

”Oh, uh, hi. I’m Sara, and this is my cousin and business manager Kotomi. Is Ray going to be joining us today?" She asks.

Ryan just chuckles, and shakes his head no. ”I take it this is your first movie role?”

”Well, yea. I’m not really an actor, I’m a pro-wrestler." She tells him.

”Well, I’m going to tell you both right now, none of the actual actors that are going to be involved in this thing are going to be here today, except yourself. Everyone here represents them. They don’t actually come to these things. John, Denis, Ray, Queen Latifah, they won’t show up until just before production starts.” He tells them.

"Then what is this meeting about?" Kotomi asks the gentleman.

”This is when they basically get all of their people in here to talk to the director, to see when everyone is available to begin working on this…” Ryan tells them, before adding, ”Don’t you have other things you need to be doing right now?”

Sara and Kotomi look at each other puzzled. ”What do you mean? All I have going on is a few wrestling shows, that’s it. I didn’t think doing voices for an animated movie would be so complicated.” Sara tells him.

”Well I know that Mr. Romano is also in the process of shooting his tv show, and don’t quote me, but that girl over there that works for Mr. Leary was just talking about him doing his tv show right now too. For awhile this is all just going to be people’s people talking to each other trying to figure out when things are best for everyone to do this.” He says.

”So, basically this is just a whole bunch of crap that really in the end doesn’t mean anything?” Sara asks.

”Basically, not really. This is just the first sit down, nothing that’s decided today is going to end up staying the same.” He tells her.

”How long is it going to take?” Sara asks.

”Probably about five hours.” He says.

”Five hours?” Sara says surprised.

”Usually.” Ryan tells them.

Five hours pass, and we see Sara and Kotomi coming out of the room, with a confused look on their faces. After five hours of meeting, the only thing that either of them understood was the fact that they agreed to have a meeting again sometime next week. Both of the cousins have decided that they aren’t going to be coming back to Hollywood until production starts, and are going to get RWA to send someone to represent Sara next week in their place.

”Well that was a waste of a day.” Sara tells Kotomi, as they begin to leave the studio, ”I can’t believe those people actually enjoy doing that all the time.”

Kotomi nods as they get to the parking garage where their rental car is, just down the street from the studio. As they walk up to it, they notice right away that something is off. As they get too it, they realize that someone had broken into the car. Kotomi immediately opens the driver side door, which has had its lock punched in. She goes into the glove compartment and is relieved to find the plane tickets to Chicago still there.

”Son of a bitch.” Sara can be heard saying outside. Kotomi steps out of the car and sees Sara standing there with the trunk open. She doesn’t even have to say it, ”They took it all. The suitcases and the bags are gone.”

Kotomi joins her cousin at the back of the car, looking into the empty trunk.

”It’s gone…I can’t believe it.” Sara tells Kotomi.

”We can replace it all.” Kotomi says to Sara.

”Kotomi, my equipment bag is gone, think about it!” Sara yells in frustration.

At first Kotomi isn’t sure what Sara is talking about, but soon her eyes get wide.

”The title belt!” Kotomi says to Sara.

”Yea….” Sara says.

We fast forward 20 minutes, and the police have arrived, and are talking to Sara and Kotomi.

”So…exactly what is missing?” the officer asks.

”Listen, nothing else matters except for the belt.” Sara says getting frustrated.

”Can you describe the belt?” the officer asks.

”It’s five pounds, has a leather strap with studs, with a gold plate, says RWA World T.V. Champion.” Sara tells him getting annoyed.

”Are you serious?” the officer asks.

”I’m a wrestler, it’s my title belt. It was in my equipment bag with all of my gear.” Sara tells him getting frustrated.

”Well, the good news is, that shouldn’t be hard to find. If who ever took it tries to pawn it, or wear it around, or anything, it’ll immediately send red flags. But what else was there?” the officer asks.

”Just that, my gear, and two suitcases of clothes for the next couple of days.” Sara says.

”Well, I’m going to put an APB out for the belt, but it might be awhile to find it. Good thing is that this garage has cameras on every floor, so we should have whoever took this stuff on tape.” the officer tells them.

”Am I’m going to show up at Reloaded tomorrow without the damn belt.” Sara says.

”Excuse me?” he asks.

”Nothing, just talking to myself.” Sara says.

That’s great. Go to L.A. to handle some business, and next thing you know, the TV title is missing. That’s just fucking great. I’m surprised shit like this doesn’t happen more often though, considering the state of affairs this world is in. Where people seem to idolize criminals, and want be as much like them as possible. I know, I sound like a tight ass, right wing bitch when I say that. But the fact of the matter is, it’s true. It seems like more then ever, this kind of shit is acceptable to a lot of people, because someone has this image, and they get rich by flaunting it. Just like TYO.

He talked about how I flaunt my name like some women flaunt their bodies, using them to get whatever they want in life. But the thing is, TYO, and all of these “Gangsta” rappers and shit. They’re doing the same damn thing. They flaunt that ghetto, thug shit around like a bitch with big fake tits trying to get free drinks at a bar. They love to talk about how hard life was, and the drugs and all that shit. Never mind the fact that they don’t have too, and some of them probably never did, do that shit anymore. That’s still all they talk about, because they know it’s what makes money. They know that’s what gives them attention. Just like I know that going by Pettis in RWA is what made me get over with the fans. I’m not stupid TYO. And neither are you. We know what makes us. We know that we don’t have to things the way we do. But we do anyway because the fact is, it has made things so much easier. If I came into RWA as Sara Thompson, like I was when I was training with Nathan Gust, there is no doubt in my mind that I’d still end up getting the opportunities I’ve gotten so far. But by using my real name, I’ve been able to just make things a little bit easier for myself. And like I said before, if that upsets you, maybe it’s because you’re just a hater.

The T.V. Title is still mine, even though the belt was taken. And I’m pretty sure I’m going to get it back at some point. It’s kind of hard to hide a five pound belt made of gold and leather. It’s even harder to hide when I’m sure who ever it is that has it is wearing it right now, showing it off, or trying to pawn it for dope money. And following Reloaded, the title will still be mine, and I’ll just have to wait to get my belt back. Or get a new one made, that’s always an option too.

End...
