So there we were at a state park, for some sort of preparation for There Will Be Blood, how the hell doing some hiking and such helps you prepare for a barbed wire ladder match I didn’t know. However I’m never one to turn down a chance to learn something a different way. I always try to adapt and find new ways to get focused and centered as it were. Of course Reno wouldn’t really tell me what all we were going to do, I swear the mob boss in him never lets up. He’s gotta keep things on a need to know basis.
As I grabbed my bag and closed the back of the SUV, I headed up the small incline heading in the direction Reno and Antonio went. Since I had to finish up a convo on the phone with Robyn, she’s worried about my upcoming match this week. Then add Reno talking about something to do with a mountain and she’s even more nervious, since she’s well aware of my thrill-seaking Do what looks fun – think about safety later attitude. After insuring her I wasn’t going to do anything stupid I went to find the Drake's.
”Hey, Reno? Reno…Reno!!” I called out, as I finally saw him with his backpack on a small bench made out of logs.
”Are you sure about this?” I asked raising my eyebrow, which I’m sure was visible from above the frame of my sunglasses.
”What do you mean? Of course I’m sure. Trust me, this is some good training and endurance that we’re about to step into. You’ll get a good workout out of this.” He said with a half smile. He likes to mess with me.
”Dude, you’ll be fine. It’ll be over before you know it.” Antonio said, somewhat matter of factly.
At this point I glance up the mountain and it looks like one hell of a trek up this trail – don’t get me wrong I like sports and being out doors but I’m more into things that are somewhat dangerous not taking a nature walk up a mountain. I’m into training hard to prepare for a match – walking through a trail wasn’t exactly on my to do list. I didn’t want to go through with it really since I figure it would be a waste of time. However Reno hasn’t set me wrong before and I don’t think he’d start now. Especially not when gold was on the line. I inhaled the mountain air and it was uniquely fresh, kind of reminded me of that mountain spring fabric softner Robyn bought for when we do the laundry.
Ah Robyn … there it was again. No matter what I was doing somehow, some way everything came back to being about her. Ironically with her just like this mountain situation there were things I needed to over come in order to be truly complete. I assume after taking a hike such as this mind and body would be unified more then ever and that’s something I need … but I knew it wouldn’t make me complete like some people have said. Some say that going to a place like that and reflecting can make you whole – but I didn’t expect that, unify my mind and body maybe. Complete me on some level – I doubt it. Honestly I wondered at different times and if I would ever be complete I still don’t know the answer because there are still things I have to over come first.
But when ?
”…It’s time…” Reno said.
I nodded in agreement after my thoughts stopped – he was right.
It was time.
To conquer the mountain anyway – after that who knows.
You can never predict how far greatness like myself can go.
I’m limitless.
There Will Be Blood.
A night where Reno Drake and myself have a chance to become Tag Team Champions, all we have to do is defeat Nuclear Wynter in a match. A Ladder match, a Barbed Wire ladder match – that’s not too much to have to prepare for now is it?
No.
However this is a barded wire ladder match, but do I really look like the type of guy who wants to have a barbed wire match? Of course not, but I shall because I’ve wrestled in once before and obviously I know what to expect in that sort of match. Which really doesn’t mean much I suppose because barbwire hurts no matter if you know what to expect from it or not. I’m not going to gloat about being in a match like this before because quite honestly, I’m no Kyle Cross. I don’t find the need to brag out or take part in such matches like these. Yet I find myself in an all barbed wire pay per view with a chance to win the tag team titles, so being that I love this business and it’s my drug of choice sort of speak. I am willing to step into a barbed wire ladder match and wage war against another well known tag team in Nuclear Wynter. A team that was hailed as the most dominate team ever, just a couple of weeks ago, as they were the Tag Team Champions as well as holding the Commonwealth and World Titles. That’s quite a feat such dominance only it didn’t last long at all.
What a difference a week makes, they went from being the top guys, proudly gloating only for them to take a tragic fall. CM Vyrus lost the World Championship to Kyle Cross once again, and once again got proven that he’s just a tag team wrestler. That his days where he was ruling as the BwF Champion are a thing of the past, the fact of the matter is CM’s best days are behind him, which is why he sticks to propping up Ryley like a crutch to make a half decent tag team. Well a half decent tag team against nobodies anyway, unfortunately for him though, we are not a team of nobodies we are the Iconoclast which means those belts are coming home with us. Nothing is going to stop Reno and myself from winning those belts not the fact that Vyrus seems to like inflicting pain on others, not the fact that there is barbwire none of that matters. I’m not afraid of what Vyrus can do and I’m not afraid to sacrifice my body for something like the eWo Tag Team Titles. This will be a war and there will be blood spilt not only by both members of Nuclear Wynter but by myself I have no doubt about that, because in a match involving barbwire there isn’t anyone who is safe we will all suffer the same fate as the match progresses. Of course will all the blood that will be spilt and the anguish we will be putting ourselves and most importantly our opponents through, At which point it becomes less about the barbwire and what it inflicts and becomes more about who wants it more. Who is willing to fight through everything the other team can through at them, who has the passion and the determination to put there body through hell not for the longevity of there career because all of our careers will be cut down some by this match. With all that in mind, with all the training I’ve done this week all the extra hours in the gym and the planning that has been done. I can tell you all that the Iconoclast is more passionate and more willing to do whatever it takes to become the eWo tag team champions.
There is never a question on any week of are AJ Donavon and Reno Drake ready to wrestle, because we always are. It doesn’t matter what kind of match you give to someone like me, I’ll go out there and compete in it and give my all. Do I believe that it’s necessary to have such barbaric matches, not really but I’m an athlete so I’ll compete because I want to be the best I want to be a champion. I don’t take things for granted and I work my ass for this business and that will never change. I haven’t been handed anything I’ve won, I had to work for it and I wouldn’t have it any other way. People think that I couldn’t make it because I was too small or that I was too arrogant for my own good but I made a believer out of everyone that sees me out there when the lights are on bright and the game is on the line. Which is much more then I can say for CM Vyrus and Ryley Wynters., it seems that you both are more worried about what kind of damage you can inflict then what it means to be a champion. I’m sure that’s why you both haven’t spoken about the match yet, because you figure this is your kind of match where it’s anything goes where you can be as sick and twisted as you want. Maybe this is your style of match – but that’s bad for you. You see this isn’t my kind of match but on that same note it’s like backing an athlete of my caliber into a corner and like in nature, when you back an animal into a corner it adapts and does whatever it needs to do to survive and that is exactly what I will do in this match. I will survive, that’s the only real option anyway, in a barbed wire match, there are no winner or losers just survivors and the survivors in this one get the right to call themselves tag team champions.
That’s exactly what we’ll be calling ourselves when this is all said and done.
There’s no doubt in my mind boys that Reno and I will be walking out the Tag Team Champions, because we are already better then you are as a team and better then you are as singles wrestlers. I mean you guys are good but when your talking about facing someone like AJ Donavon being good just isn’t good enough. See Ryley, you above all should know that I mean, after all you like to act tough like your little attack on that guy backstage just because he was wearing an Iconoclast T-Shirt that set you off, and why because even with him just wearing a Clast t-shirt he was better then you. We took care of that problem anyway didn’t we Wynters? I mean you thought you were so tough beating on a guy that isn’t a wrestler wow, that makes you a bad ass. Tell me though did it hurt when you were put right through that skid? Of course it did, I bet you had your little butt-buddy Vyrus picking splinters out of your ass after that. To the point though, I’m sure it didn’t just hurt you physically but mentally as well, because you were made an example of, when you were trying to make an example of someone else. Lets just face it Ryley – we’ve got you all figured out – we know what you’re going to do before you do it. Thus we will always have a counter for it. All you have to look forward to this week is getting an astronomical amount of pain driven through your body, and much like the pride that we obviously hurt when we outsmarted you and then Drake put you through that skid. That was only the beginning this week, we finish showing the world that Nuclear Wynter is only intimidating when compared to mid card wrestlers but against the best this place has to offer there nothing but a couple of predictable punks that act like teenagers who are trying to look tough.
We cost you the Commonwealth belt last week just for fun – this week we’ll take the Tag Team Titles because they are rightfully ours, most importantly though we will show the world that Nuclear Wynter isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. In the end your dominance is all smoke and mirrors and when the dust settles you will be forced to look at your own reflection but it won’t be in a mirror or in championship gold … you will see a faint reflection of a broken shell of a former threat in the puddle of blood below your face as you lie face down on the mat wondering what the hell just happened. Then you will finally figure it out, that you got your asses handed to you by the absolute best in the Iconoclast.
This will be Ground Zero – and in the end we will be standing on the top of the rubble looking down at the damage we created and the destruction we left. Will it be worth it? When the world sees us standing there holding the Tag Team Titles up as we take our spot on top of the tag team division of course it will be worth it.
At There will be blood – there will be plenty of blood.
But for the Iconoclast There Will Be Gold.
Why? Because blood stained or not gold never stops shining and boys I’m golden … and gold always begets gold. Because that’s just the way it is.
