From outside, where the snow fell endlessly without cease, Arran Hayden stared through the window of a diner. He watched as the people inside held conversations over hot chocolate, and he envied everything about them. They all seemed so happy and made their lives look so easy. Consciously, he knew that wasn’t the truth for everyone of them. Still, he was the only one outside standing in the snow. Wondering where exactly could his life go from here? After everything he’s done and been through, there was only one place he promised himself he’d go, to the top.

“Beautiful aren’t they, yet ugly all in the same sense. I still can’t figure out why you long to be so ordinary. It makes you weak inside.” The tone of the man’s voice was harsh and the words were knives.

Arran inhaled and released his breath slowly. Before he could speak, a weird feeling came over him. He recognized it instantly. It was the same feeling he’d always get when he knew the toughest bastard in all of Mexico was right. That’s the man who now stood next to him with a devilish grin on his face. Neither attempted to face each other, they just studied the people inside of the diner. Arran finally broke silence.

“I’ve had enough time to think it over, and I hope you can pull this off like you claim. It’s risky, but I’m willing to look past the consequences.”

“You say it as if what we’re planning is a bad thing. How about we take a ride and talk it over. You look cold.”

“That depends. Where are we going? The last time you said let’s take a ride, you ended up running over Trenton’s daughter.”

“You love reminding me of what a bad guy I am.”

“And every time I do, you enjoy hearing it more than the last time.”

“Well, I wouldn’t be a bad ass motherfucker if I didn’t, now would I?”

A young couple entered the diner with a young girl marching behind them. She reminded Arran of Trenton’s daughter. He looked away to save himself from the guilt. Cordova expected this and adjusted Arran’s head back into sight of the girl.

“Look at her! It’s important that you do! Otherwise, you’ll lose the true sight of why you hold this vendetta against Pierce. I now know the truth. I know why you aided me in taking the life of his daughter. Theresa told me everything.”

Cordova released Arran’s head and watched as he fell to his knees. He shut his eyes in pain and his body started to shake.

“Just because you wanted to return the favor doesn’t mean it makes you a bad person. It makes you stronger than you can ever imagine. Embrace it and it shall do the same. It’s all that simple.”

The details of that night, buried deep in the back of his mind, found their way towards the front. Every single one flooded back into his thought. The memories were so vivid, he felt as though he was at that point in time. It was too late to push them back in place.

Three years ago I lost more than just my ability to walk. It happened during a live taping of IUWF’s Sunday Night Impact. I was booked to defend my newly won United States Championship. But I was more concerned with having the back of the man who represented my stable. That night he was up against one of Eddie Nesbit’s men, they all were known for ending one person’s career. Just as I figured, they interfered and so did I. I saved one career.

Payback was an angry bitch, and I figured during my title defense she’d come running down the ramp with a tampon stuck halfway up her pussy. Nesbit’s men didn’t show their face and I ended up retaining my United States Championship. When I hit the backstage area I was nervous. I can remember looking over my shoulders a zillion times, but no one jumped out and attacked me. Did they know something I didn’t?

The show ended and I was home free. Theresa and I left for the airport immediately. During the car ride over there, Theresa didn’t seem like herself at all. I tried to figure out what was wrong and then she told me. She was pregnant. We were having a baby. She had scheduled a doctor’s appointment in the city of IUWF’s next show. I didn’t know what to say. Like any couple we started the sex game….well that one too. Not sure how I managed to get us to the airport.

On the plane, I had time to think. When you find out that your wife is pregnant, you question everything wrong in your life. You also question choices you’ve made in the past and confront your inner demons. No longer does your perspective make any sense. It’s skewed. For once in your life, you actually feel happy. Nothing can stop you. You’re on top of the world.

We landed very early that morning. I think it was around three. We ate breakfast, well Theresa ate breakfast. I just stared at her stomach and all of sudden began laughing. She wondered what so funny and I told her I couldn’t imagine her being big. She threw eggs and sausage at me. Corny. Yeah, that’s sounds like the life I wanted. Being rich was boring. Any way, we left for the doctor’s office.

We sat in the waiting room for awhile and I signed a few autographs for the IUWF fans. They still were in shock that I fought off all of Nesbit’s men. Afterwards, we were finally called into the office. The doctor started to check Theresa over and all of a sudden he told me to leave the room. I was confused at the request, but I did it. What seemed like an hour was only ten minutes later and they called me back in. Theresa was in tears and the doctor shook his head back and forth. He looked sad. I comforted Theresa and asked what was going on.

When the doctor broke the news I was devastated. I even went as far as to questioning God. I couldn’t understand it. Why did I have to be one of the unfortunate countless? How could this happen? How could my wife have lost our baby, then it hit me.

I ran down the ramp on fire. I fought through the first three of Nesbit’s men. The crowd was electrified and I was pumped. As I slid into the ring, I knocked Blake Masters over the top rope. The only person left to deal with was Trenton Pierce. So how, he blind sided me and began his assault on me. Next thing I know, he’s setting me up for the UnderOath, but someone tried to push him from behind. He dropped me and turned around to push away whoever it was trying to stop him. That person took a nasty bump. It gave me just enough time to get the low blow. By this time the referee had woken up and stopped the match. Trenton had retained his Intercontinental Championship.

I looked away dazed and saw Theresa lying in the ring. I realized she was the one who tried to save me, but why? Now, I knew and I was going to do everything in my power to make sure Trenton paid for what he did. That night at the show, Nesbit’s men ended my career. Everything turned ugly, hazy, and gray.

That brings me to you Kyphael. How can a man put himself in the same category as serial killers and rapists and expect someone to take him seriously? That alone makes you a fucking moron. It doesn’t matter though, I’ll do what needs to be done come Eternity. All you have to do is bring it.
