Dominic Pericolo :: A Walk In The Park The chirping of the birds in the daylight sun was all that could be heard throughout the park. The place was very, very green and very, very flower garden-esque. Green grass and trees, flowers and bushes all over the place, shrubbery surrounding a playground with a sidewalk leading throughout the area. It was a massive park, and on this day was a very nice place to take a walk through. Of course, it was also a nice place to think to yourself. On this day, with the sun beating upon his covered back, Dominic had decided to go for a walk. The park had attracted his attention due to the serenity of it all--serenity he figured would be best acheived leading into his 'major rematch' coming up on Thursday. He had been happier then ever after proving Enigma wrong, and then giving the fans exactly what they deserved no more than a week later. He was able to spend more time with Suki on his week off too, which was always something that he prefered. He had been doing alot of thinking regarding he lately...she really was the biggest thing on his mind. He had something in store to surprise her with by year's end, but he wasn't sure if it was too soon or not...he needing the advice and the help of a dear friend of his, and the guidance of a man who'd helped him all throughout his life. However, even with all of this on his mind, he still had that match this Thursday...against a man he'd beaten in his NLCW debute--Sean Galen. This...of course, was what he needed to think upon. "Round two..." Dominic muttered, a frown on his features, "Wonder what the higher-ups in the NLCW are thinking. Galen may have given me a run for my money in my first match, but I was practically the one that sent him sliding into a downward spiral. Do they really believe he can dent my streak right now, in the heat of all I've been through here? There's no-one in the NLCW that's been able to stop me yet...my dreams are coming true now, and these guys think that Sean Galen can make his comeback off of me. Classic." Dominic kicked a small rock down the sidewalk, sighing softly. The sun tried it's best to bring a smile upon his features, warming his body but not beating down on him too hard. The clouds watched as their leader did his best to inspire Dominic to bring his mind to ease, but all for vain--for Dominic was far too bitterly bemused with his opponent selection for this week. "I mean...couldn't they have booked me against someone, oh...I don't know...more worth-while?" Blissfully unaware was he who did not know the heaven's intent. Dominic wiped the sweat from his brow and watched a few birds fly through the trees, chasing one another in some sort of a game. Atleast, this was what it appeared to be. It could be noted that they were fighting over food just as well, but this did not play much into Dominic's thought pattern. He was far too focused on the upcoming events at hand, events that he was actually quite reluctant to participate in. "Eh...whatever, if it's Galen they want me to beat then it's Galen I'll beat again. I hate to sound cocky or arrogant but...the man is nothing more then a shadow of his former self. Hell, maybe this Avulsion I'll even be able to make him see that, and finally turn himself around." Dominic ran his fingers through his hair, sighing and shaking his head softly. This was very frustrating, he wanted a real challenge and they'd saddled him up with a has-been, who could very well be on his way out the door soon if he doesn't turn himself around--but if they thought that he was what it'd take to make Galen see the light then he'd do it, he'd face the guy and beat him again. Perhaps after the match he could sit down and discuss the basics of 'trying to win a match' with Galen as well--because for a guy who had a pretty dominating world title reign, it seemed as though he'd slipped and fell hard from grace. Either that or he could kick his teeth in to wipe that shit-eating grin off his face. Dominic smiled a little, the thought amusing him enough to prompt the expression. Dominic of course did not mean these thoughts, for he really wasn't the type of guy to kick someone when they're down (metaphorically speaking, of course). However, with the way Galen acted while he seemed to be stuck in a rut, not advancing forward and rapidly sliding backward...Dominic might break his own moral code just to give the cheeky little bastard a wakeup call. It was dissapointing, really, because so many people held high expectations for the guy when he was champ...and he was letting them all down. Dominic still couldn't forgive himself for letting the people down back in the HWF--it was a mistake he swore to never make again--and so it was difficult to imagine for him how Galen could simply go on without a care in the world about it. And now, for Galen, the same rising star that outshined him on the very first day it was spotted was now back for another round thanks to management...and it was more ready now then ever before. "Hope Galen knows now...the ring rust is gone--I'm better now then I was then. Poor guy doesn't stand a chance." The sun had finally given up on attempting to persuade Dominic's emotions to lighten, calling forth the clouds to block it's view of the land below so it could atleast find others more willing to accept it's help. Was that a small child crying? A little sunlight should help her just fine, perhaps her mother will get her a new ice-cream too. "Ugh, fuck it...I can't stand this anymore." Dominic said, his eyes narrowing to a glare as he gazed down upon the ground below. The frustration building within him was beginning to crescendo in a way that he certainly hadn't wanted it to, but truthfully had no means in which to stop it. "Galen...that stupid little bastard really does think he's the end-all be-all of the NLCW when, in fact, he's become nothing more then just another face in the crowd. I remember Chris telling me all about how the guy had such great potential...and now looking at him, he really has blown it. He was future hall of fame material, and he's just slid further and further down a never-ending slope." Dominic stopped next to a rather large tree, leaning against it and looking up at the sky with a frown on his face. Today was a nice day out, a day to be happy. A day to share with your loved one. A day to not be standing in a park under a tree, thinking about an upcoming fight. But, then again, that was who he was. That...was Dominic Pericolo. A man who has dreams he believes in, that he thinks he can accomplish, and that he know will one day come true. Of course, while one of his dreams was to become the 'King of the Fight Club' in the NLCW...another dream was just as clear as that--if not clearer. The dream of one day truly knowing that he could spend the rest of his life with the woman named Suki Minamoto. |
