There are three paths to follow in life...the path of good, evil and neutrality. Those who walk down the path of neutrality, however, cannot remain there forever. It only takes one event in a person's life to sway their direction down a different path...and this is where the stories of heroes and villains begin. We are all born good, but where we choose to go from there determines who we become.

Every person has the capacity in them to become a hero, it's how they use that ability that really counts. Sure, not all of us are blessed with superpowers, but you don't need them to truly be a hero to the people. I mean, look at me...no-one knows exactly what my powers are besides myself, and yet the people of Capital City still see me as one of their many greatest heroes. They trust me with their safety, with their families and with their lives. I'm one of the many that seemingly carry the weight of the world on their shoulders...and it's only going to get heavier as time goes on.

Heroes never quit, however...they never buckle under the pressure.

Souless, you and I are in the same boat here. We both look forward to brighter futures and clearer skies. We both believe in better tommorows, and we both know that our abilities can guide us to where we belong.

I'm expecting a fight, Souless...I'm expecting an honorable showdown between two great heroes of Capital City. Let's show these people why we're their protectors, let's show them just what we're capable of doing.

This is our time to shine, Souless...our chance to make it to the great beyond--metaphorically speaking, of course.

Whoever wins this tournament is going to have the opportunity to rise to the very top of the mountain, I can feel it in my very being...and that's the opportunity I've waited all my life for, the very chance I've always dreamed of.

I can't let this opportunity slip by me, Souless...I just can't.

And so at this 'Tournament of the Champions', I think it best to say that no matter how hard you fight me...I'll fight just that little bit harder. Somehow, someway...I know I can overcome you.

I'm sure you're a great hero, Souless...but this is my time to rise to the occassion--and not just for myself, but for the people of Capital City. For the world itself.

It's time for a change, Souless...and I'll do all I can to bring it for the better.
