act five: prepare to be educated

The winning streak that has lasted the better part of over half a year has spoken volumes about the kind-of determination Dominic Pericolo has held since his return to action in the NLCW. Every challenger that has approached Dominic, though many not up to par with the challengers that Dominic had faced multiple times in his past, were still hungry, dedicated wrestlers who simply fell short against one of the NLCW's greatest story-tellers.

In every match, no matter who the opponent... Dominic refused to under-estimate their abilities. However, since his return... there has been something about Dominic, a certain change in his sense of confidence that has spoken volumes about the kind-of person he's finally grown into, more than likely thanks to his newfound family and the success he's had in ensuring their future.

Always the absolute opposite of Christopher Champion... when one of the two finds their greatest prosperity, the other finds their greatest downfall. While Champion continued to drown his sorrow, Dominic Pericolo trained for every opponent as if they were capable of defeating him, all the while reminding those very same opponents that they had no hope at all of defeating him.

It was because Dominic never held back that he knew his opponents hadn't a hope in the world... and one particularly stubborn opponent took a good three tries to finally drill the point home to. A roaring lion was finally silenced by the NLCW's hero... and, because of the would-be lion's betrayel of the company in the face of adversity, Dominic grew a newfound sense of determination to protect the company he holds so dearly.

Yet, in the end... Christopher Champion felt the need to make his grand return to do the same, believing Dominic to be nothing more than a dancing marionette of the real hero the NLCW needed. In the end... despite all the things that had happened to Champion, despite everything he'd gone through... he'd learned nothing at all.

And he forced Dominic Pericolo to watch on as he, the best friend of the man, began to systematically tear himself down before the entire world. Filled with confidence and overflowing with bravado, Champion saw himself as the one true savior for the NLCW... the one who was needed to bring the company back on its feet. And so the man known as the Golden Boy of the NLCW made his triumphant return... and he did so in the middle of his body withering away.

Beyond anything else, the primary concern Dominic holds isn't holding onto the title for the sake of being the champion... it's to hold onto the title to ensure it never enters the hands of Christopher Champion. His primary concern is to protect his best friend... because, in the end, he cares more for his safety than the safety of the company they both hold so dear.

He is 6'4". He is 270 pounds. He is in better shape now than he'd been in his prime... a man who's fought to make the realization that, as the old line says... every end is the start of a new beginning.

Dominic Pericolo has pulled himself from the path of a fading story, and he has set about proving his epilogue to be just as grand an adventure as the one that came before it.

He fights to save the life of his friend, and to save the dream of a future he'd held dear not all too long ago. To ensure that he not have to watch a part of his dream of the future wither away and die.

He fights for his own selfish reasons, just as Champion... but he does so out of concern and care, rather than desperation for glory.

He is all the same as he has ever been.
