act one: back to basics
Dominic Pericolo: Well hell, at least we'll get to go out with a bang, huh Chris?
Looking up, Chris forces a smile and chuckles, nodding his head.
Chris Champion: Yeah... one hell of a fuckin' bang, Percolator.
Dominic Pericolo: Let's do this, Champ... you ready?
Chris Champion: We both have been waiting for this for a long time, Dom... you're damn right I'm ready.
Dominic Pericolo: Alright then... I guess I'll see you there, Champ.
Chris Champion: Alright, Dom... let's do this then.
Pericolo pivots backwards after the kick as Champion swings himself out from inside the closet and throws a fast punch at the still-adjusting Pericolo, who only barely has the time to throw his arm up and deflect the shot. Champion swings his right leg around and tries to catch Pericolo in the side of his ribs, but Dominic quickly lifts his own leg up to deflect that as well. Both fighters take a step back and glance at each other, the both of them already breathing heavily from the adrenaline coursing through their veins.
Dominic Pericolo: God damn, Chris... you're a tricky little bastard.
Chris Champion: Not tricky enough, apparently.
AJ: OH MY GOD! Pericolo just got buried alive underneath a stack of computers!!
With a brief nod of the head, Champion picks up Pericolo and hits him with a pile driver!
AJ: OH MY GOD!!
BT: A pile driver on the stairs! Holy shit!
BT: They are doing everything here, Aaron... I don't think any of us expected this. Broken noses-- hell, broken bodies... blood everywhere... these two may be friends and rivals, but my God, I don't think we've ever seen two more vicious fighters square off. And Champion...
AJ: I think Champion's the first man I've ever seen rival Dominic's uncanny ability to withstand punishment. This... this is nuts, Bryan.
BT: There's got to be a winner, Aaron... they just won't settle for anything less.
Champion rolls off of Pericolo as soon as they hit the ground and pushes himself up to a knee, his blood-covered hand reaching out to push the handle to the exit of the school... but Dominic lets out another scream as he lunges forward from his down position, landing a hard punch into the side of Chris' stomach. Chris hunches over, letting out a wheeze as blood splatters against the glass on the door, Champion hacking as the blood forces its way past his lips.
Champion sends his free leg out as hard as he can, smashing his foot into Dominic's face and forcing Dominic to break the grip on his ankle, collapsing to the ground. Champion doesn't waste time looking back, ignoring his bodies pleading for rest as he fights to his feet and throws his body against the door, swinging it open as he falls to the ground outside the school, the referee finally calling an end to the match!!
BT: HE DID IT! HE DID IT, OH MY GOD!!! CHRIS CHAMPION HAS DEFEATED DOMINIC PERICOLO!!!!
AJ: CHAMPION WINS! CHAMPION IS THE NEW NLCW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION! OH MY GOD!!!
The meds begin to cart both men off but, incredibly, both Dominic and Chris weakly turn their heads to each other, staring each other down from the stretchers. The meds stop in shock at the both of their movements, and the two reach out to each other, their fists clenched. They touch fists in respect, and the cameras catch the grins on both their faces through the pain and their masks of blood. They're both quickly seperated as the meds look to load them both into their respective ambulances, but neither of them lose their grins on their faces the whole way, an almost chilling yet fitting end to the whole ordeal...
"DO-MO-NIC! DO-MO-NIC!"
"CHAMP-EE-ON! CHAMP-EE-ON!"

On that day... I received my closure.
Despite this-- and I don't know why, but-- for some reason... my story wasn't over.

There was still an epilogue to be written.
