Background Information:
Deacon entered the CSWA during the infusion of new talent of 1998. When the CSWA went global, Deacon was one of the rookies to take them there. During these early days, the classic battle of words between Eddy Love and Deacon began. Both men used this heat to drive them forward in the eyes of the fans. It worked, and both men became CSWA superstars, Eddy riding the wave to the CSWA World title.

Deacon's first real challenge in the ring took place in the first round of the CSWA World tournament. The "original" Eliminator returned, and dropping the gimmick name, Eli Flair reignited his CSWA career. In a battle of wills, these two men battled for the first time with a shot at the world title at stake. This would not be the last time they fought with a title in the balance.

Deacon continued battling in the tourney until he faced Mark Vizzack, yet another future CSWA World champion. Vizzy won the match, and a short time later, Deacon left for a world tour.

He returned and began teaming with "The Preacher" to form the Moral Majority. This tag team was shortlived, but loved by many CSWA fans for their inability to get along.

From there, Deacon pushed toward grabbing the CSWA World title. It was during this period that Damien Xeno, Deacon's "supposed" father, entered the fray. Deacon survived this onslaught on his faith, and entered the Ironman of Champions. Again, Deacon fell short, this time to Eli Flair.

Eli made his run and then he ran into Deacon. Their battle set the tone of the CSWA's future during a period where the "hero" had changed. In the Thanksgiving Weekend Spectacular, Deacon faced Eli Flair with the world title on the line, this time for the 3rd time. They split their first two battles, and Deacon took this one along with the CSWA World title.

Deacon held the title through 2 Pay Per Views defeating Blade & Steve Radder in a three way at INDY2K. His title reign was one where he pushed the guys through the "supposed" glass ceiling, giving many their first shot at main event status. He then went into the next PPV, and one of the most controversial moments in CSWA history.

Anniversary 2K hit and Randalls vs. Deacon was the main event. Leading into the match, Deacon had been troubled by mysterious pain and numbness in his shoulder. He fought one of the CSWA's toughest men in Randalls and they had what many consider one of the greatest matches of all time. The match ended when Eli Flair and Hornet hit the ring. In that moment, Deacon, the CSWA's top "hero", was triple teamed. The 3 formed an alliance with the Deacon as their sacrificial lamb. They got heat, and in a few weeks, the world would get the truth behind Deacon's physical problems.

Deacon had MS. He fought one final match against Kevin Powers, and then he left the CSWA, vacating the CSWA World title.

Deacon had Multiple Sclerosis.

Wrestler's Entrance Description:
Deacon's entrances are classic. Utilizing sleight of hand that any illusionist would be thrilled over, Deacon makes a point to wow the crowd from well before the first move is completed. His Soloman match entrance is well known, as is the entrance where he came back after a short stint off due to injury, leaving Apocalypse the wary receiver of his illusions. To see a Deacon entrance, is to truly witness Sports Entertainment to its fullest.

For a basic one, however...:

The lights go out and the crowd responds in full. They know what is happening, and their suspicions are verified by the first, haunting sounds of the Gregorian Chant. Deacon is coming. A single spotlight shines through where the curtain was. In front of it, forming a silhoutte, is the man called Deacon. His hands are raised to the heavens, made evident by the silhoutte doing the same thing on the ceiling over the ring. Deacon lowers his hands and walks down the ramp to the ring. He steps through the ropes and walks to the center of the ring. He crosses himself reverently, and as he completes the action, he thrusts his arms out in the form of a cross. Simultaneously, sparks fly 15 feet into the air behind him in the ring. The robe is at his feet, and he turns to speak to the referee.
