Background Information:
J. Bishop's involvement in wrestling began at birth. Born Joshua Bishop Knight, he is the son of former <> X-Change manager (and a former wrestler in his own right) Dr. Thomas Knight and the brother of former AAWC World Tag Team Champion, Jason Knight (The Untouchables).

Fans of the defunct UWA will remember Bishop from a documentary done on Tom Adler's first tenure at the University Of Pittsburgh. Knight was a freshman who had come from high school as one of the most highly sought after collegic prospects in wrestling. An impromptu match with Adler seemingly changed all that. Though Knight won the match, he felt humiliated when the coach made mention that he had far more trouble with the then 14 year old Adler than he should have.

Knight's history after that is cloudy, though it's known that he grew to resent his father's interrest in Adler as a professional wrestler.

Knight entered *Professional wrestling in a revamped version of the UWA that put forth the slogan "No Legends Allowed" with <> X-Change manger JR Steele in the background guiding his career. He took the name J. Bishop, determined to make a spot for himself without relying on the Knight family name. So bitter over his father's involvement with Adler was Bishop that he nearly crippled his father and brother when they made an appearance on UWA TV. Despite direction differences with management, Knight seemed determined to make a go of it in the UWA until one event halted everything.

Knight was scheduled for a series of matches with independent superstar Wildstar when a pre-match incident where Wildstar would throw a fireball in his face would nearly end his career. Knight was replaced by Steele with Steve "The Ring" Masters who thrived in the federation during Knight's recovery.

Though most of Knight's injuries healed (save the scars on his face that he continues to refuse cosmetic surgery for), his attitude clearly hadn't. Maxwell Diamond approached Knight with an opportunity he thought would help both the <>X and Knight. Diamond had long wanted to break into the Japanese market and he thought Knight had the talent to make it work.

Knight's history in Japan is as cloudy as most of his past. He has wrestled under several names... each donning a different mask. Charting his success is virtually impossible, but rumors persist through out Japan that he was heavily trained by such Japanese legends as Kensuke Sasake and Tatsumi Fujinami. Whatever his name, Knight is widely regarded as a suplex and submission specialist... capable of using leverage to attack even the largest opponents.

Knight returned to the states, once again as J. Bishop in the CSWA, coming to Eric Wright's aid during an altercation with referee Manuel Juarez and later Nathan Storm.

A week later, following a parking lot attack on Mark Windham, Bishop and Storm were introduced as the newest incarnation of the <> Cutters, along side Tom Adler and led by Eric Wright as a revamped <> X-Change.

Bishop has not made any public statements to date, and Eric Wright has yet to address questions about the relationship between he and Adler, though spokespeople for Thomas Knight have suggested that he and his son made amends while he was in Japan and that Bishop and Adler have since gotten past their differences.

One thing is clear, however. Bishop has NOT forgotten who put the mask on him.
