White Mantis

Real Name:

Height: 5'9" Weight:198lbs

Hometown: Bismarck, North Dakota

Enterance Music: "Traveling" - Utada Hikaru

Alignment: Neutral

Background Information:
APPEARANCE:
- Even for a cruiserweight, White Mantis is built lightly. He's slender and lean, with long, strong legs that give him unbelievable agility and great kicking power. He's bald save for a chestnut scalp-lock that hangs just below his shoulder blades. His face is narrow but fierce, with strong brows, a large chin and nose, and thin cheekbones. WM's eyes are a very pale shade of grey - almost white, but not quite.
- His ring attire consists of a pair of full-length white tights emblazoned with intertwining crescents of lime green outlined thinly in black; the outlines of knee pads can be seen beneath them. He wears white wrestling boots with black laces, and his wrists are taped.

PERSONALITY:
- White Mantis doesn't talk very much. In fact, he doesn't talk at all if he can help it. As a purist, he'd rather put his energy towards ruling the ring rather than cutting funny little promos. Despite the fact that he doesn't talk, it's evident that White Mantis isn't a very pleasant person. He's grumpy and bitter and vindictive and hates anyone whom he percieves to make a joke out of pro wrestling. In short, the White Mantis is an incredibly focused wrestling machine, so intent on wrestling that he doesn't even bother with speech.

BACKGROUND:
- There isn't actually much known about the past of White Mantis. Even his real name is hidden, apparently by his own refusal to divulge personal details and his belief that in the wrong hands, a name can be a weapon. The details that ARE known come from the mouth of his agent, Steve St. Laurent, so take this with a grain of salt.

As the story goes, White Mantis was born in Bismarck, North Dakota somewhere between twenty and thirty years ago. He was a wrestling fan from a young age before picking up some puroresu tapes in his early teens. From that point onward, he was obsessed with the stuff, watching puro religiously and ordering tapes by the bushel. He eventually entered an American wrestling school, only to immediately head to Japan upon his graduation to seek training there. He was accepted by an unnamed master and trained alongside former GXW superstar Dragon Assassin, but dropped out after a couple years, intent on blazing his own path.

As time passed, White Mantis cruised from indy to indy, taking what he'd learned in America and the Orient and adding his own flair to those styles. The result was a rather unique style for a cruiserweight - not high-flying, but rather a combination of martial-arts and submission maneuvers, not to mention several moves built off of this or that variety of DDT. Eventually, however, he grew frustrated with other wrestlers on the American circuit and took another trip to Japan, where he made an impact and opened a lot of eyes. Among the eyes opened were those of sports agent Stephen Harrison St. Laurent, who immediately approached White Mantis and offered to manage him. The two sat down and worked out a deal.

With the deal between White Mantis and Steve St. Laurent set in stone, the two migrated back to America in order to capitalize on an offer from a promotion known as GXW - an offer which would make both men a lot of money and offer them the chance to take on some of the best cruiserweight wrestlers in the world. White Mantis' goals at this point are mostly unknown.

Manager Name: "Slick" Steve St. Laurent

Description of Manager: HEIGHT: 5'5"
WEIGHT: 267lbs

APPEARANCE:
- Steve St. Laurent looks a lot like Paul Heyman in some ways. He's pretty portly and has a round face, with a somewhat bulbous-looking nose and large eyes. He wears his black hair down to his shoulders, usually half-hidden beneath an Oakland A's baseball cap. His attire is rounded off by a chestnut suitcoat and pants over a pale tan dress shirt and a black tie. His black leather shoes are of Italian make.

PERSONALITY:
- If you hate people with big mouths, you'll DESPISE Slick St. Laurent. He's a loudmouth and a braggart, given to shilling his client's abilities massively and mocking his opponents - face and heel alike. However, without White Mantis around to back him up, St. Laurent tends to be rather cowardly and will flee from a fight or weasel himself into a position where his client can protect him.
