MEMBER INFORMATION:

Name: (for online privacy reasons just call me Al, I get searched alot on google for career reasons and this hobby is strange sometimes.)
Email Address: aidan@w316.com
AIM: campbellren
Preferred Method of Handling: right handed with left cupped around balls (seriously: I don't have a preference, whatever works for the people I'm writing with)
Best Way to Contact you: (PM/Email/IM): IM is best for shooting the **** but if you have ideas, send em via email if you want them documented, I don't save chat transcripts.

WRESTLER INFORMATION:

Name: Aidan Campbell
Nicknames: The Wildchild, The Class A Predator, The Highlands Lion

Height: 6'2"
Weight: 230lbs
Handedness: Originally lefthanded, trained right. Not fully ambi.

Looks:

Head: Long dark red hair, usually in a single braid during interviews, usually loose during matches. Wears facial hair in a "Lemmy" style (chops, stash, missing chin. Tends towards diesel shades. Large celtic cross tattoo across his left neck and shoulder with the top point stopping just below the left ear. Interviews have documented this as the cross that marks the distance between his hands and heart.. whatever that means.

Upper body: Aidan's spent the time in a gym to transition from a purely aerial style to a more power/endurance/agility combination and it shows in the physique he brings to the ring after returning from semi-retirement. Built for show and go, his physique is comparable to what you'd find on a professional gymnast taking lessons from the HHH school of human enhancement. Aidan's on record as making full use of the approved supplements afforded him through his knee therapy and isn't bashful about using HGH as prescribed. The philosophy is preventative medicine.

Aidan sports a large scottish lion rampant tattoo across his back in red, yellow, green and black ink. This runs towards and around the celtic cross over his left shoulder. Angelic script on the forward arms of the lion (facing left) has been translated by Aidan in interviews as reading "Vivian, Chance, Gabriel and Sloane", his family. The lion represents remembering who you are and what you fight for, whatever that means.

If in the ring he will go shirtless as it plays more into the "Lion" gimmick he's carried for a few years without major commitment. Coming to the ring, there's always the old school leather biker jacket with a flaming anarchy cross superimposed on to a gothic cross. This symbol combined includes the wiccan pentacle, the nordic tyr symbol for victory, the gothic judeo-christian cross and the anarchy brand.. why Aidan did this, who knows.. he keeps his mouth shut on that one even when asked.

Lower Body:

Keeping in line with the above description it's obvious that a lot of time has been put into quad, calf and hammy work. There's a very noticeable, very large brace on his left knee as a memory of a severe automotive accident that almost took his career away in the late 90s. He'll tend toward boxer brief style wrestling pants in black with no advertisements or gimmicks of any kind. Knee to boot pads and high wrestling boots with solid joint protection are Aidan's bag. Black.. it seems he's not a very colorful guy from the waist down.

Street: 90% of the time you'll find him in one of three possible get ups.

1. The Adidas Look: Random T-Shirt with obnoxious or motivational saying, track pants, cross trainers and a huge duffle bag full of gym needs, hair tied up in a bandana. This is road and gym standard.

2. The Street Look: Leather jacket, jeans, cowboy boots, random t-shirt with obnoxious or motivational saying, hair tied back in a braid. Usually accompanied by diesel shades.. this is the public signing or general getting something to eat look.

3. The Suit Look: Birthday suit that is. This only happens on special occasions. He's not very shy and tends to walk around naked out back just because he needs to breathe and experience nature. He seems to get an occasional kick out of society's hang ups. Most owners prefer he wears a towel or keeps one with him.

Hailing From: Glenkairn, Scotland UK

Disposition:
Gimmick: The above description alludes to his gimmick. At first he was a risk-taker, the wildchild.. throwing his body to the wind and seeing where it took him. The accident changed all that and brought him closer to who he was, stripping away all the bull****.. with that came the body art and the general style he carries with him to the ring.

No nonsense, no bull****, fights the good fight and strives to be a solid friend, family man and role-model to the younger guys. Just don't bleed or the Class A Predator will eat you.

As to gimmick color: There's more of a spiritual, supernatural vibe to his personality. Each of his tats represents a part of his life and the "powers" he's reached out to to find his center. He's not quite Ultimate Warrior ****ed in the head, but he's on the ranch waiting for the kool aid to be handed out and sitting on the "powers of good, justice, and retribution bench"

Ring Attire: See above descriptions
Theme Music: Ladies and Gentlemen - Saliva
Ring Entrance:

Not a big showboat but has modelled his entrance after Bret Hart. Will allow the measure of the lyrics of his entrance theme time to sink into the audience and his opponent. Often leaves a ringside fan a piece of his wardrobe as he enters the ringside area. This started with his sunglasses, but has since expanded into whatever he's got on him, like his Tshirt or a necklace. Historically the bigger the show or the bigger the moment the better the gift at ringside.

The largest gift he's ever given was a set of keys to his BMW Z3 Roadster. The most personal was his original leather jacket. The most ridiculous was Barbara Raymond's phone number (which resulted in weeks of harassing phone calls and more than a few laughs backstage.) Aidan's take on this compulsive habit has always been. "I can't take it with me and it doesn't mean as much to me, as it does to them."

Tactics/Style:

Aidan's major strength is and always has been counter-wrestling. If you put him in a hold or work him into a position, he can almost always find a way to reverse or work it to his advantage. Early in his career due to a lack of experience, this led to him utilizing an extremely high-risk style as there wasn't much he could do to run a spot simply based on his own offensive merit. These days after some significant BJJ and striking work he can hold his own without the big spots. If he's got a style, it's UFC style shoot fighting, significant skill at making others look really good, and the occasional big insane jumping spot. (Taking care not to blow out his knee again.)

Strengths: (3 strength marks see him as possessing)

1. Strong, original gimmick and look. He's believable even when being a total jackass or a solid face.

2. Entertaining: When you think you have him figured out, he'll crack you up or impress you with something you hadn't seen before in the way it was done before. He seems willing to work with anyone and help anyone look good.

3. Fearless: More guts than brains and has been known to jump off of stuff that no one has any right to jump off just for the thrill of hearing chants. Also tends to pick fights with monster heels and ownership if he's been screwed with.

Weaknesses: (See Above)

1. He's been injury prone: When he's on, he's on. When he's off, it's a major let down. You want to get behind him every time you see him. But at the same time you know that you better take photos cause if you don't snap that shutter quick, you may never get an opportunity to again.

2. It's well known that he's got a hot wife who may or may not be more successful and visible than he is. This sometimes takes away from the gimmick or storyline he may be portraying and may add to the amount of time away from the lights and ring.

3. He's never won one when it counted. Aidan's never held the big strap for a major federation over the tenure of his career. Because of this no matter how good he is, it's hard to see him in a major leading championship way. He was once voted "The best wrestler that will never hold a major championship" by PWI and that's followed him around place to place, booker to booker. It's frustrating to be his fan over a long term.

MATCHWRITING GUIDE:

More than anything else, Aidan's moveset plays off of whomever his opponent is in any given match. However, some moves have become staples or "default safety moves".

- If found prone underneath an opponent or straddled he will attempt in order:

1. Keeping his head as close to his opponent's chest as possible to get inside the reach.
2. Attempting to trap one of his opponent's arms close to his torso and reversing the mount.
3. Triangle choke to break the concentration and reversing the mount.

- If an opponent comes off the ropes at him in a running manner he will attempt one of these:
1. Dropkick to knees
2. Sweeping the legs, dropping into some sort of reverse submission.
3. Removing self from the ring if it's possible. Only does this at the start of matches or when it doesn't hurt match flow.

Aidan has also been known to purposefully reverse an irish whip in close proximity to the ropes and then fall/pull on the top rope, sending his opponent to the floor.

In terms of finishing moves and setups. Due to injuries, Aidan's finishers have changed over the years. Moves that have been used as finishers include:

1. The "Slamdance" superkick. This is very rarely used at this point due to the knee injury and should only be used or treated as a last resort, pull out the stops move. He will pay for it in some way. The brace will reinforce the knee so it won't tear again, it just won't be very comfy. (Of course that assumes someone didn't rip it off.)

2. The influences of Wildstar. There was a period of AC's history where when feuding with Wildstar he would use a frog splash or a shooting star press variant. These are still capable of being used in the right circumstances. He isn't opposed. That stated, he will respect the people he's working with. If he's wrestling someone with that move as a finisher, he will not use it unless it's a grudge match as a way of getting some heat.

3. The "Lion Rampant" Time in Japan brought him into contact with the move known as the "shining wizard". This by far is the most common move he uses when working in the asian rim. He's not used it thus far in the Americas and realizes that he can only apply it with his non braced knee, otherwise the risk of real injury is too high for his opponent.

4. The "Lion Tamer" Not to be confused with the move of the same name popularized by Chris Jericho, this is Aidan's ankle lock submission that can be applied in a variety of ways. Popularly this gets entered from a reclining position or out of some small package rolling combination. Most often used in the Americas since the retiring of the superkick.

Tendencies:

1. He will not taunt his opponents. He prefers to intimidate or frustrate with counter wrestling.

2. He will not break rules until his opponent does. Once that happens it'll be a one-upsmanship contest until the match is over. It does not take a ring bell to the face or other finishing type rule breaking attempt to get him to throw the rules out. (He got into a lot of barfights growing up. It's comfortable to him.)

3. He will work well in teams. Over time he does tire of associations and stables and is usually the first person to leave such arrangements when someone steps out of line.

4. Extreme power moves are completely out of the ordinary for him. He can and will do the basics taught in wrestling school for the protection of others, body slam, suplexes etc. He is not the type of guy to build up to a big power move. He will build up to a big air move or a submission attempt.

5. Weapons of choice are: baseball bat, ladders, ringpost (especially in combination with a figure four if pushed over the edge). Chairs are useful if thrown into an opponent prior to a dropkick.

More as time progresses..

CHARACTER BIOGRAPHY:

Born 28 May 1973 to a working class family in Glenkairn, Scotland UK, Aidan's education in strong labor and blue collar ethics began early. By 13 he had a part-time job working in stone quarries when he wasn't schooling. Growing up in a rough and tumble environment took well on him and by 16, he was living the dream.

"Wake up, hit the quarries, work for 4, hit the bar, work for 4 hit the bar.. sleep."

Somewhere in there eat, **** and **** happened, and in some cases often. As often happens, oddities of fate occasionally ruin the best laid plans and a badly timed bar visit in his 18th year would have him at the center of a scuffle with some very large rowdies working with a local wrestling show.

"Hey kid, you took being thrown through that set o' bar mirrors really well.. wanna make some quid? Jester here took quite the shot from the bar stool you cracked him with.."

"Jester" was having his nose packed with bar napkins.. tonight wasn't his night. Considering how quickly his face was becoming an eggplant, tomorrow wasn't going to be his night either.

"First.. **** you.. second.. quid?"

more coming soon..
