Defiance Application Form

Fill this form out and post it on the Application board.

When it's finished, the Defiance roster will vote on whether to accept you. Getting accepted to the fed requires a net total of +4. So if you have one 'no', you'd need 5 'yes' to balance it out.

eWrestling Experience: Over 8 years of experience, I started in 1999 when I was about 12 years old in Middle School with friends from my school, that branched out into many feds. The bigger named feds I was envolved with were PWA (Class Champion), left PWA before I could finish for LOW (Lights Out Wrestling), there I became the Realm, X-Treme and World Champion. I had a small stint in PRIME as a female character for about 3 months.

Writing Sample

My dream had ended approximately 8 years ago. I could picture my old self. Young. Reckless. Simply not taking life for granted. 8 years later I am a much more polished man. Dedicated father. Loving husband. An icon in my own eyes. The past was the past and I had to realize that. I left the wrestling business for a reason. Family. Friends. It was a decision that had changed my life. Have I forgot about it? Sure I have. Have I missed it? Most definitely. Not one day passes by where I don't think of how great it was to be, well... ME. Jason Ortiz. Crackhead. The persona of a self proclaimed crackhead who got high off the business. People claimed that I was destined for greatness. They claimed that I had all the skills to make it to the top. I tried my hardest over those years to make it to the top. I wasn't successful. I walked away in my prime to become a father and greater husband. But here I was, at the cross roads of my life. They called it a mid life crisis. A 33 year old man with something left to prove. It shall begin.

Location: Tacoma Washington (Hells Henchmen Club)
Time: 2:39 P.M PST

Inside of the ring I had portrayed myself as someone I never wanted to be outside of the ring. When I had left wrestling in the past, I changed my life dramatically. Here I was, over 3000 miles from my home in Miami Florida. I still could smell the warm ocean breeze from that far away. I missed it. I wasn't going to life. My family and my crew left in a matter of days. Not looking back. We had started over. From scratch. The club was reunited. A couple new faces added to our crew, but the majority of the originals were still here. Steven Scott, my best friend. The most loyal son of a bitch a guy could ask for. Every person in the world has this kind of friend. Someone who had your back no matter what the situation. We had found ourselves in a similar situation as in Miami. I was in debt. They had me by the fucking testicles.

"You know those fucks are charging 30% interest over this!" I yelled, slamming my fist on the club table. My glass of ice old Rainer beer spilled. I didn't care.

Across from me sat my best friend. My vice president.

"I can't believe they really think you are going to bend over backwards for them," Steven continued, but not before taking a sip off his Jack Daniels."A couple months ago those fucks were in the same boat, only we were making the demands."

Over the past couple of months the Hells Henchman Club had changed for the better. Our former president had retired. Living the life up in Arizona now. I had taken over. There wasn't much respect coming from the rest of the members as they sought that I was going to drive this club into abyss. That wasn't the truth. I wanted to change for the better. I wanted to make us more respected here in Washington. You could say I had visions of the Hells Henchman being the Mexican Cartel of Washington. We weren't into running drugs. Well we did do that, but that's besides the point. Our philosophy has remained the same. Help others who have helped you.

I stood up and walked my way over to the bar. I reached across the counter top and grabbed another Rainer beer from the cabinet. The fridge was out back, rotting in the cold winter's night. Fuck that thing. Broken pile of complete shit. Which had reminded me that our prospect Eric was suppose to fix it. Fucking kid.

"Will get through this Steven, and if it comes around on us, well.." I grinned at my good friend.

"Shit is going to get serious."

Steven laughed. Taking another sip of that delicious Jack Daniels. "When have we ever had anything go right for us in the first place Jason? Look at what happened in Miami. That shit can't happen like it did there."

"Errrrrrrrr...."

I had already knew what Steven was thinking about. Down in Miami when things were looking up for the club one of our own had turned on us. Stole from us then disappeared. We had no clue where that mother fucker David Wilder was. We had long thought that he might be up here in Washington with some distant relatives, that was not the case. Over a year later we had no leads and it sounds like he might be down in Peru.

"Don't even think about it Steven," I interrupted. "Let's focus on the future. Let's focus on this little situation that we have going on right now."

The large torso of Steven Scott arose from the table. A man that is over six feet seven inches can't possibly sit for that long.

"You're right Jason.."

"Right about what?" I stated, pointing over at the pool table.

Steven walked towards it, grabbing the cue ball and slamming it the rest of the balls on the table.

"Bro, what the fuck did you just say? You said let's focus on the future. On the situation. I was simply agreeing with you. Leave it at that. Time for you to get stomped again? Twenty on this game?"

He reached in his back pocket, slapping a crisp new twenty dollar bill on the table. I picked my favorite pool stick from the rack. I had my secrets on which sticks were the best, and had marked them individually with certain colors. Steven was getting ready to rack up, I walked towards him, nearly feeling like a midget in his shadows.

"One thing’s for certain," I said, putting a consoling hand on Steven's shoulder. "You can't win them all Steven, you simple can't. That twenty dollar bill should have left that dirty ass pair of jeans and went straight into mine. You don't even have a chance."

I could hear his distinct laugh from a mile away.

"....HaHaHa"

*KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK*

In the far distant we both had heard that. I dropped my stick. Reaching for my Glock 17 in my back pocket. Steven did the same. We both stared at each other for a couple seconds.

We really didn't have time to think. We both headed for the door. Steven reached his ginormous hands out and slowly began opening the door. I reached up and held it shut for a second.

"Think that is really them?" I asked coldly. My hands began to clam up.

He didn't even give me an answer. Steven ripped open the door which almost knocked me on my fucking ass.

There wasn't a soul outside. We both looked around, and at this point both of us had drawn our guns up. Nothing. Absolutely fucking nothing.

"Wait. Look." Steven reached up and grabbed the note that was plastered on the Club House door. I couldn't read it, since he took it upon himself to turn his body in a 90 degree angle.

"Steven!" I grabbed his shoulder while reaching up for the note. He pulled away.

"...What the fuck does it say!" I demanded. My heart was about the explode at this point.

He took a couple steps back.

"Monday, February 24th."

"Two weeks," I continued. "Two fucking weeks is all that they are giving us..."

"We are fucked."

Wrestler(s) Information

Please take note of a couple things. It is highly likely that a few roster members will critique your moveset. Please don't be offended. We take that shit seriously here - we don't want a moveset full of finishers and a finisher so ludicrously over-elaborate that it couldn't be done in real life. This goes double if you're applying as a female wrestler. We also check to make sure your finisher(s) and theme song aren't currently being used. It's first come first serve when it comes to those.

And if you're one of those handlers who hates doing movesets, just say so and Jeff will do it for you.

2 things.

1. We're an angle fed now, so RPs won't be a major, major concern for the foreseeable future, but here in DEF we have a tendency to lean more towards the trash talk style of RP that directly references anything to do with wrestling as opposed to the lesbian vampire mafia styles the Old PTC Feds.

Dont get me wrong, I'm not shitting on your writing sample, I started in FUSE/SCCW before they joined the PTC. But that writing sample could have been from anywhere or anyone (not trying to imply anything, but I've seen it done before). Maybe a slightly more personalised sample, promoing on DEF or trying to get a contract might go over better in this circle.

Typically we like to keep things real around here, and walking around with a gun killing people in your promos isn't going to fly. We like wrestling, and that's not wrestling.

2. For a high flyer, the move set is very ground based. Where are the spinning heel kicks? The cross bodies? The hurricanranas? The tornado DDTs? The springboards? Not one of your trademark moves suggests the character is a high flyer.

Also, a face using a low blow as a trademark move? We're not fans of 'this guy is a dick, but he's so cool the fans cheer for him anyway'. If your character is a dick or does heelish things then he's a heel. Simple as.

I'm not voting yes right now, but I'm not voting no either. I'd just like to see a slightly more relevant writing sample, and either see the move set tweaked or the description of his wrestling style changed.

Hey Jason! I know Ortiz from back in the day. He was acutely part of and old fed of mine for a bit. He is a good guy and a good player, I am sure he can adapt to the Defiance way if he want's to.

Hey Damien, thanks for the feedback. I have no problem with doing the angle fed as to be honest right now that might actually suit me better. In the past I was all about simply character building but I have always wanted to focus on my grass roots of strictly wrestling. Believe me that writing sample was definitely mine, although a lot has changed since about 10 years ago when I stopped. I will try and repost something more as a wrestler, and see what you think of that. Been a long time since I was doing the oldschool trashtalk wrestling style, but it was one of my favorites. I will rewrite something and post it here after I get off work later today. I will also tweak the moveset, as I tried using moves I remembered from 10 years ago lol.

Also whats up Bubba you were from GW right? I believe my good ole buddy Jesse Jamester brought me over there after LOW.

I updated the move set and a couple little things. Here is a better sample that I think would work here in Defiance. I switched from my Novel Script, and went back to the grass roots. Enjoy. Thanks for allowing me to submit an application.

[On this cloudy, rainy, depressing day in Washington we find ourselves in the home of our all time favorite Crackhead, none other than Jason Ortiz. With his legs crossed and a bottle of Jack Daniels on the filthy computer table we find him browsing the site of Monster.com. His unemployment was about to run out and being back from Rehab was starting to drive him crazy. All these household choirs that his wife was making him do wanted to make him go back to that dreadful Rehabilitation Center.]

Jason Ortiz: Yah know ... I wish their was a half decent job in this shit hole town.

[On the other side of the well known former professional wrestler we find his side kick, and of course his best friend Steven Scott. The skin head bastard had pretty much welcomed himself in the Ortiz household these past couple weeks. Like Jason, he too was unemployed. Unlike Jason, he had many other skills in the workforce that had landed him several interviews this week.]

Jason Ortiz: I pretty much want to give up Steven.

[Steven reached over and put his arm on Jason's shoulder. He grunted.]

Steven Scott: Well there is one option...

Jason Ortiz: What's that fuckface?

[Both friends had many different nick names for each other. Fuckface was just the start.]

Steven Scott; Micky D's my brotha from anotha motha.

Jason Ortiz: You can't be fucking serious.

Steven Scott: Serious as a heart attack. Why not? Minimum Wage. Free food. Hell I just heard they are trying to raise the minimum wage here in Washington to over 15$ an hour.

Jason Ortiz: 15$ an hour? What the fuck is up with this world. Socialist fucking state. Next thing we know it, a god damn Big Mac meal going to cost us a twenty spot.

[A small but faint chuckle came out of Steven's mouth. He reached over and grabbed the bottle off the table. Cracked the lid off and took a healthy sip.]

Jason Ortiz: Forget it dude. You forget I have some form of a criminal record. A drug problem, and some fucking dignity. I would rather suck dick on the corner for 15$ an hour. Seriously.

Steven Scott: Well I hate to break it to you buddy, you just can't be picky.

Jason Ortiz: I aint being picky mang. I am trying to find a suitable career. Something that I can use to support my family. I have a wife. A child. Need to put some food on the table.

[Steven reached over and pushed Jason away from the computer and started to scroll down on the Monster.com site. He had about the same results as Jason. Nothing. Except one job. One job that he knew Jason could be good at. He had down it roughly 9 years ago.]

Steven Scott: Right here.

[Jason's jaw damn near hit the floor. It came back up though.]

Jason Ortiz: Really? It's been over 9 years man. I walked away from that when I was in my prime. I walked away for the better. Not a day goes by where I don't miss it. I left to start my family. My son was born and that was more important to me.

Steven Scott: Think about it broski. You have a lot left in you. You're young. You're hung. You're ready for a return.

[Across the computer screen read an ad for a wresting promotion called Defiance. Was Jason Ortiz really serious about this? When he was in his prime he was just about to reach the top of the food chain. He was hungry. He was a beast. Champion. Entertainer.]

Jason Ortiz: A lot has changed in 9 years. Do I think I can still do it? Do you think I have some fuel left in the tank for this?

Steven Scott: I think you have more than what you think. Give it a shot. The pay might be decent. Hell, What else do you have? You could always fall back on the old lifestyle.

[The lifestyle that Steven was talking about was Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll. Actually, that was complete bullshit. The drug part was probably the only true thing. When Jason had left wrestling he turned to drugs for the same high that he got in the ring. Hearing his name was his drug. Those fans. Those fucking fans gave him such a high it was insane.]

Jason Ortiz: Once I do this I am all in. Like I was in the past. Giving it one hundred percent. Wrestling was my life. It was my job. My passion. I was great at it. Becoming one of the best. The youthful kid inside me was making me better and better each week. Do you realize that people said I was destined for greatness. They really did say that. They said, "Look at that Jason Ortiz guy, he has all the skills, but if he wasn't such a fucking idiot he would be much better." I can't deny the idiot part because I quite possibly could be the stupidest, smartest fucking guy around. If I do this, I will be at the bottom again. A fucking bottom feeder. Like those worthless algae fish at the bottom of the tank sucking up all the shit. Yup that will be me. But you know that could be a good thing. Start training again. Get back in shape. This could work. It could work my friend.

[Steven Scott gave Jason a big smile. He nodded his head.]

Steven Scott: Better than before. Back to finish what you had started.

Jason Ortiz: Back in the business. Back in the game. Here I come. Jason Ortiz, everyone's favorite crackhead. But one little thing Steven ...

Steven Scott: What's that?

Jason Ortiz: You do realize how pissed Jessica is going to be?

Steven Scott: Fuck her. It's time for you to think about the future. This is it.

Jason Ortiz: Future huh...

[Jason grabbed his head with one arm]

Jason Ortiz: Fuck.

[He reached down and started to click on the enter resume button]

Jason Ortiz: My.

[He had second thoughts. No turning back.]

Jason Ortiz: Life.

Resume Sent.

I vote yes.

The fact that you've happily taken my words and actually done something other than go on the defensive is all I need to know.

Simple but effective character and I liked the revised segment work. Also, the fact that you're open to any critiquing and use it to improve is a plus.

Yes from me.

By chance are you adept at writing matches? Because this is a huge requirement in DEFIANCE. You don't necessarily have to write whole matches yourself if you tag team them with a partner, but it's an unavoidable task around here.

I'm looking for more actually. You have potential.

I think we should change the whole rp requirement to segment requirement. I want to see you do two things with the character. Write two segments. If you do them, I will herald your coming and trumpet you, the whole nine yards:

1. You're a face, I want to see you cut a segment with you talking to Lance Warner, our interview guy. I want you to herald your arrival in DEFIANCE. This is going to be the FIRST time we will see you on the show. I'd like to see a small segment telling us who you are, why you're here in DEFIANCE. That's the first segment.

2. You've just been absolutely busted open by Bronson Boxer. DEFIANCE(s) resident badass heel. He's the self proclaimed "Original DEFIANT". He's like an Irish/Scottish? version of Steve Austin in his prime before going face. Bronson is bald, with a great mustache. He left Jason Ortiz bleeding in a puddle of his own blood in his hometown. We're talking in the middle of the ring, his own mother was there, screaming/crying out in terror while DEFIANCE security was holding her back and carried him off to the back on a stretcher. That's literally what the show ended with. Bronson Box fucking you up, shaming you in front of everyone. I want to see how your face reacts to that. This is the *FIRST* night he's been cleared. What *does* he do?

I agree with Anty that the app should be modified to fit today's Defiance. Great idea, dood.

Oh, and the applicant has my vote. I wouldn't mind seeing a seg though. The sample rp was nice.

I appreciate everyone's feedback, and I will try and post those two segments for you guys tomorrow sometime. I am willing to do some match writing, as I have done it in the past. It might take me a bit to get back in the game as I stated I really stopped doing this almost 10 years ago. Like anything you forget the little stuff. Will have some more goodies up for you guys tomorrow. Peace.

Alright, cool.

You already have enough YAYS to get it in like Captain Kirk, but here's one more.

YAY.

Talk to Justin or Jeff about getting your backstage info setup.
