DEFtv 101
OLD FRIENDS
Wrote it. Fences are mended, but all manly like.
RUNDOWN
Wrote it with Ford.
DEMAND TO FLEX
Solid segment. Harmon is has to take the bald walk of shame before he can demand Elise?s head ? as the Faithful make fun of his. PCP coming out the Flex is different but it worked well between the reading of the note and the whispering in the ear. Some funny lines in here as well, which is pretty normal when it comes to anything Billy and Ford. This set up the next match as well let us know, Harmon isn?t done with Elise, not my a long shot.
Jack Harmen vs. Flex Krueger
The first joined in progress match I?ve seen in DEF! Certainly not something we want to overuse but with the match being a foregone conclusion at the end of the last segment, it?s perfect. Quick TV match, Alliterate Alliteration punchlines that you wouldn?t get if you were the set up, loved it. Harmen pulls the classic heel walk out and furthers the story between Jack and Elise. Good stuff.
Angel Trinidad vs. Reinhardt Hoffman
Angel striking out as a singles and makes quite the statement taking out Hoffman, one of BRAZEN?s best and at least in recent months the most seen on DEFtv. Hell, he was a part of WAR GAMES. Solid match, perfect for TV length and clearly this is a building block to something larger.
TOO THE MAXX
Sawyers here and in everything I?ve ever read, he is extremely annoying. So of course he?d be the perfect mouthpiece for this new heel team. Given the gimmick you can almost assume they can?t talk. This was a solid introduction to the team and I can?t wait to see more. Atomicdropcast.com
Scott Douglas v. Scott Stevens /UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Wrote it, with Stevens and Will.
BREATH OF THE WILD
Great Fuse Bro?s segment Perfect way to pull their story/direction out of the tailspin that was the closing. Roland always writes these too extremely entertaining and I?m glad to see them with the straps in what I?m foreseeing as a strong tag div. I kept waiting for the to drop a ?open world? reference directly but maybe that was better left not directly on the nose. What I assume is a nod to what happens when Mario Brothers starts over, was great - and the Princess deal was a good laugh. Good stuff.
Brutal Force Attack Vs Toybox
Second tag team debut of the night, in action this time rather than an interview. BAF hasn?t had the nicest ride since getting up to the main show, and coming out of the FUSE segment - the already in the ring (and you know what that means ? atomicdropcast.com) was a nice touch right off the bat. So far this show has a great feel continuity wise, feels like a real show. Solid debut from Toybox. I like that this wasn?t a complete squash and the debuting team still goes over - and give who they went against - no one was thinking any different. But this is the pro rassle graps and so this was a solid way to debut Toybox. Again, this Tag Div is looking strong!
Good Luck? Champ
Great segment, Stevens looks to be on his way out but can?t help but to be a prick while he does it. He sheds some UTA dead weight on his way out in the name of prickishness ? and the every so loveable Burns has bigger and better things on his mind. If this becomes something, perfect initial (re)contact and if it isn?t - it?s still little piece of world building that hypes the main event AND ties in to the continuity of Douglas/Stevens as well as the Rundown. Great work.
NOTHING TO PROVE

FIST: Cayle v. Oscar
Fantastic match. Given circumstances, it had almost no build but I think the surprise of the match met with the ?surprise? of the finish worked perfectly. Hell of a match and especially for a TV main event at the start of an arc, I think they made this one feel big. Needless to say, no one wants to see Murr go but Cayle goes out looking like every bit of the champion he was and passes the torch to Burns (see what I did there.) This is the perfect jump start to a new era of DEF as it?s been called. After such a stellar title run as Cayle had Bruns has big shoes to fill but I have all the confidence in the world when it comes to Seth and his writing. And hopefully Murr will be back sooner than later. Great job, guys.
OVERALL
Successful show. I think commercials were a plus in aiding continuity and flow, all Tom's idea by the way! Matches were good TV length and no match felt like it was completely for nothing. My goal was ?100 percent ?? ? getting back to stability and business as usual and this was the step in that direction. Everyone came in hot and didn?t miss a step. We had very few late things and notice on most - show still went up a night earlier than normal. So, end all be all ? there is that. We had very few formatting issues, probably the biggest one is the centering of themes, which I know centering is long been an issue with the Backstage script, so no big beef there, but everyone try to be mindful of that. That being said, hopefully this continues and everyone does the beefs (it is important)! But yeah, great job, everyone. Let?s keep it rolling!
