Honestly, the "poor clock management" was actually "You're in Bracket 3 which means you have two days to RP, then you're going to be on vacation and not coming back until the last day of RPing" and I knew for a fact that I was not going to want to post when I got home, so I had to roll the dice. I think it would've been a lot more decisive (in either direction - I don't want to take anything away from Vagabond) if we'd been able to do a proper back and forth.

Eli Manning has better clock management than you.

To UserPoets and TH -

Thank you very much for your feedback.

As mentioned in various conversations with others, this is a new circle for me in e-wrestling, and I am trying to find my niche. I personally like the whole idea of doing a blog, as it kind of a stream of consciousness thing - and we do want to know what the person is thinking, right?

While it takes talent to set a scene, the fact that you are in a picturesque landscape doesn't necessarily sell the story you are trying to sell. It always falls back to what is said. But at the same time, a traditional roleplay can tell a story through actions.

So going forward you will probably see a variety of both styles - leaning towards whatever I feel is more important to say at the time.

Thanks Again,
Scumsucker

Gotta admit that I'm a little butthurt over a jobber moving on.

As the person "benefitting" from a 2nd round jobber match, I'll let you know that Chad & I spoke about this. It wasn't what I wanted, and I feel really wasn't what Chad wanted, but it was what he'd said at the beginning on a podcast. At that point, no one said anything, likely for the same reason Chad or anyone else would - we never imagined someone would bother to do what was required to apply for the tournament and then not bother to even put one stinking roleplay up, especially when guaranteed to move on.

When Chad & I talked, after realizing Cash's handler didn't show up, I said that I would be fine w/ another lucky loser. Chad, true to his word, said that he wouldn't do it because of what he'd previously said. It's no more fun for me, really. Sure, I get a 3rd round ticket as long as I type -

Chris Shepherd stands in front of the UT banner. Chris smiles.
CHRIS: Bonecrusher, the Deacon will get in the ring before a 10 count. The only question for this match is - how many times does he have to hit you until you forget how to count to 3.

See, right now if I cut/paste that into my bracket, I win. What's worse, if Lane Cash's handler would've done the same, he would've won. That sucks. But having a jobber move on in the case of a handler not doing his part is what we all agreed to. Now, I'm going to go write a roleplay that few will bother to read and then look forward to round 3.

(after I write a bazillion matches for round 2 - call it my penance )

Or...

What if one of the handlers who would have been considered for another Lucky Loser spot is given the opportunity to put up an RP as Bonecrusher?

Or...

OR

We put all of the jobbers into a battle royal, the winner gets to be the Unlucky Unloser, and we put Brunk behind the hood and let him handle the jobber.

Or we let Eugene Dewey have the spot.

OR

OR

We let Chad do his thing.

Because that's more than likely how it's gonna work, derp.

Just let Deacon go over a jobber. Yeah it sucks, but that's the nature of a tournament: sometimes it's a battle of attrition. People are going to no-show, for whatever reason, and somebody has to benefit. That's why I'm against the whole idea of a "lucky loser" in the first place because it's not in the spirit of what a tournament is supposed to be. However, this is a community event, not the NFL, so I get why it's being done and all that jive.

Enjoy your jobber, Deac! :)

I vote we let Bonecrusher win the whole tournament.Everyone against him gets banned from the forums while the RP period is open, thus sending him sailing through to the finals and the ULTRATITLE.

Damn. I was hoping for a Spartacus moment.

"No...I am Bonecrusher!"

(I'm imagining a world like in "Being John Malkovich" where everyone is Bonecrusher.)

Warren, you'd need to post for Bonecrusher twice since Bracket 4 has a two RP MINIMUM for round 2.

All of the complaints against jobbers going forward in the tournament or some lesser handler winning over a better handler that no showed are not thinking of the tournament, but only themselves. I mean, sure it sucks that you put forth an effort and lost but someone else coasted through the same round... but that's kinda the deal in tournaments. Some people show up to play and some don't. That's a given in all competitive tournaments, regardless of seeding. A tournament is built so that the person at the END deserves to be there. They showed up the entire tournament.

Lets make 25 unlucky losers for every no show to take place of jobbers. I think it's more of a kick in the teeth to the tourney to lose and be sent through (no offense to Triple X, as I am a huge fan and had him in my final four) than it is to advance a jobber or some lesser handler.

Hi! I'm new here...and maybe people don't know me well enough to know how to take the things I say.

(On top of that, I've got no particular dog in this hunt--I'm not in the Ultratitle Challenge...I'm merely following it as a fan.)

When I suggested that someone take on the task of roleplaying for Bonecrusher, I did so because the handler of the character facing Bonecrusher in Round Two was bemoaning the fact and that he isn't as happy as you might think to get a free pass to round three. I thought my reply was funny in a "be careful what you wish for" sort of way.

And because I want to live in a world where EVERYONE, potentially, is a Bonecrusher.
