DORCHESTER STRATTON -- Dorchester was a guy JN created that we always used as a background/jobber guy. He was originally known as DC Stratton. His backstory is that he was a backyard wrestler who ended up in the big leagues, like a Hardy Boy type.

Didn't he debut in one of yours or Schmid's experimental leagues first? He won a "tough-enough" styled contest to win a wrestling contract, as he was billed as the "NKOTB" - New King of the Backyards, DC Stratton, who was a reckless, untrained spotmachine but had lots of talent, and a bad CURE haircut.

I modeled him after Billy Kidman's size and heart with Mikey Whipwreck's "Sinister Minister" phase when he was tagging with Tajiri in ECW with Robert Smith/hair and guyliner, black fingernails. He didn't own wrestling gear but wrestled in jeanshorts (JORTS!) too-big Pop Culture shirts like Darth Mauls face on a black tee, and I guess now you could say that Suicide Kingz-era DC was modeled after Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy. Not necessarily a goth, but now more emo - a moody, emotional, angry young man. That's why his relationship with Rayne was so marvelous - their first date was at QDoba, where DC fell in love for the first time.

Now DC is a cold-eyed opportunist, with a killer wardrobe - a Pete Campbell from MAD MEN haircut, and expensive suits. He's the Brylcreem Bully, he's the Country Club Assassin, he's a piece of work!

I don't ever remember using him as a jobber, but he may have been a JTTS - just trying to get his feet planted. He uses his feet pretty well now, doesn't he?

The other thing w/ Dorchester -- and Biron really nailed it with the car accident thing -- is that he almost has split personalities.

His new look comes form Mad Men (THANKS JN!). The whole thing that sets Mad Men apart from the pack is Don Draper's dual personalities. SPOILERS -- Even though I crafted DC's backstory before I saw Mad Men, they're really similar. They were both raised on the other side of the tracks who are now trying to wear the persona of the upper class.

The base Dorchester character in the ring is essentially heel DC Stratton, if that makes sense. He's still a backyard guy whose moves are high-risk. But since he's a heel, he's now also a cheapshot artist who has to backpedal out of danger when he's in a jam. I write him like Dean Ambrose from FCW (who is set to take over the WWE in 5... 4.... 3...). He still has the chip on his shoulder DC had as a face -- like when he busted his arm to beat Blaine -- but instead of "Die Trying" it's "punch you in the nuts".

But now he has Veronica who can use her wares to trigger him to go "dark". And this is when he punts Troy in the head and mows over Jack Bryant with a car and throws bleach in people's eyes. He's not there. Stratton's a fucked up dude -- grew up poor, raised by extended family, struggled to gain traction for years, thought he was betrayed by people he considered family, etc. -- and his demons allow him to become open to manipulation, especially though Veronica's sexuality. DC always dated the Rayne types but deep down inside lusted after the cheerleaders from the rich part of town. And now that he has one, he will do anything to keep her, and that makes him go into some darkside at her behest.

As far as Veronica -- She's the rich cheerleader snob who dates someone "beneath" her so she can control him. Like, in high school, she'd date the token punk rock drummer dude and make up some shit about her ex-boyfriend the linebacker saying she was pregnant so they'd fight in front of her. And she gets off watching Dorchester destroy people at her command.

I probably put too much thought into this but I do like writing this really fucked up couple. DC and Rayne were super innocent, like DC said -- falling in love over Qdoba burritos. But now it's some twisted S&M thing.

We really should have had discussions like this long ago. I know most of this stuff, but not all of it and it's informative as hell for the newer guys. Even for me - I didn't know the full story on how the OSS got brought into NFW by Calvin. Great stuff. I'd love to see a JN write-up for guys like Blaine, Malik, DRS, etc! Even the "New School" guys like Impulse and Castor. You can never really have enough information on a character.

I'd have a LOTTTTT of write-ups. I have stories for almost every character who got hired as staff by NFW. Fiona Love is pretty interesting, too.

Blaine is pretty easy since he was birthed here. . . Malik and the DRS have been around for a while, especially the DRS who were arguably the biggest tagteam in the late 90's. Remind me to tell you about the "Hoodies w/ the Goodies" one day ;)

You're thinking of JT Tyler.

And I don't remember GG controlling him...

That's weird, I thought Gregg told me Jeff had DC first. I knew Jeff didn't bring JT Tyler to NFW, he had the Powell Bros and (I thought) DC, but I must have had it wrong. I do remember Rayne was originally Schmid's valet for Torch, who then was taken by McNichols as a Manson lackey, and finally ended up in Gregg's hands.

I created DC because I loved little flippy backyard wrestlers and no one had done that template yet. JT didn't have anything to do with him.

He brought in the Powell Bros. (originally of the FIGHTERJOCKS in UWA, where all the guys had codenames like MAGNUM, ACE, etc.)

I made Rayne too and gifted him to Schmid for Torch. I created her as a gothy Daphne from WCW type, who was a dark Courtney Love chick who wore a burned prom dress. She then went to McNic, then Gregg.

Behind whom?

In our grand NFW 1.0 "Running with the Ball" phase, I would conjure stuff up just to see what would happen. Rayne was a lot more interesting with Torch. Manson worked swimmingly with a Pagan Assistant. Etc Etc.

I still think Calvin Carlton is my favorite NFW creation.

Behind the characters. Sometimes I forget the sheer volume of dudes you and Gregg created.

AHA! But Rayne was not originally included in the Suicide Kingz angle!

Originally, they were managed by Neil Riddick and I had DC hanging out like heroin-addict Billy Kidman who had some coffee shop poet idiot girl with him. I think her name was Lady Azalea or something like that. Then JN reminded me about Rayne, whose existence I completely forgot and I brought her on board. I also dumped Neil Riddick once I started having DC and Rayne speak. They were a lot more interesting to me.

I also grew Rayne up a bit from her previous incarnations. I liked having her as competent -- she was Manson's protege and, despite god knows what went on with that relationship, he was the best in the league. So she graduated from being with some dude named Torch who didn't really go anywhere to being Manson's minion to being DC's girlfriend and a very savvy manager/mouthpiece.

She also became WildStar's niece somewhere along the way. I did that to add to the upcoming WildStar/Dorchester match we had set up. I also think that makes some sense -- she got her foot in the NFW door via WildStar's pull, but she wanted to do it on her own and her career took that route.

I also added in a little thing solely to make JN, the resident artist/teacher, laugh. During her absence from wrestling, Rayne attended the Rhode Island School of Design. She seems like she'd be a graphic/wardrobe designer type. But that's where she matured because she took a business class or two. I assume they have them there.

Right, right.

I think it's great that you never liked Neil Riddick. :p I thought his backstory made enough sense:

ANNOUNCER SOUP

Quickly, Riddicks' story is that he was the original PBP Announcer in UWA, who worked next to Anne Mystic as Heel Color. Mystic was basically my homage to Missy Hyatt, but with more of a business mind and a mean streak. After John Gilson showed up and started VEEPing with me, he created Lamont Hollywood and on the mics were Riddick, Hollywood and Mystic. Soon afterwards, Tom Adler had a 'thing' with Mystic, and she started getting power-hungry, which spun her off onto another track, and she was UWA Commissioner for a while and was solely in charge of dropping the height/weight cap and bringing in BATTLESHIP and SUBMARINE - THE ARMED FORCES, to UWA, who were in a blood feud with Craig Miles.

Anyway, when Quentin Sullivan took over UWA, he fired Neil Riddick and bought in his boy, communications major and roomate in college, Natrone Rice to add some 'flavor' to the commentary. Neil lost his job of many years and couldn't get work afterward.

He resurfaced in NFW years later (AND I ALMOST FORGOT) managing a young DC STRATTON to upend NFW and pay back Sully for taking away his life. He was now darker and a bit on the crazy side, and wanted revenge. Gregg added the demon stuff, but I think I told him he could basically be like Sinister Minister from ECW, since DC was a perfect Mikey Whipwreck. I think somewhere in the character tradeoff GG brought in Tsunami and made them the Suicide Kingz and added Rayne.

Also -

Tsunami and Wildstar in CSWA = SUICIDE SQUAD

Tusunami and DC Stratton in NFW = SUICIDE KINGZ (Suicide Surname w/ The New King of the Backyard, DC Stratton) The team that will DIE TRYING.

ALSO ALSO:

Anne Mystic was a hot commodity in the feud between Tom Adler and a young Hot Property Eddie Mayfield, who resurfaced in Schmid's AAWC with the first iteration of THE INTRUDERS (Mayfield, Mystic and Pi, Schmid's X-Pac clone). The I's were white-hot, and probably the first wrestler I did that was really, really over. My guy before that 'Fashion Plate' Marcus Price, among others was ok but Mayfield had heat on him.

Mayfield had/has a thing for Cougars and immediately fell into Mystic (Which makes Eddies fling with Katherine Windham make more sense!) and they used each other to infiltrate AAWC and Mayfield to use Adler as a stepping stone to propel his name into the stratosphere.

Arguably, Adler is in the top 5 pantheons of the *P era guys, and Eddie showed up and attacked Adler personally, with a kind of Sting/Hogan feud where they didn't really fight, (this may have been during one of Adlers Mission Impossible latex face mask stints... ugh, I don't believe I wrote that!) but it was a hot feud.

Adler had a habit of dropping belts rather than getting beat for them, and dropped the UWA World Title (During the UWA/NFW merger/collision around Ultratitle Season One) and laid down and dragged Eddie on top of him, or something like that, 'giving' Eddie the UWA belt and that's how he wound up being world champion, and he and Craig Miles feuded in and around that, leading us to the PROFESSIONAL SCREWJOB where Miles and Eddie pulled a fast one over on wrestling by making up their whole feud just because they could.

Anyway, now Anne Mystic is one of the BTS owners of UWA (Along with Avery Prosser) which is now the in-story developmental territory for NFW in Philly. Basically they're the FCW to WWE, and several guys have come from there like Jack Bryant and more recently, Teddy Alexander. The DRS will probably go back there after they're done mucking around in the tag division.

Anyway, More backstory for ya!
