As someone who is still on the mailing list and receiving show thread links that ask for feedback I'll respond!

My comment was directed at the idea that Impulse has no program and may be forced to kick his heels until one develops as if there wasn't a good option. So my vote was for the Deville/Impulse feud to reemerge.

I agree Impulse winning proves he overcame. And usually faces don't go around picking too many fights. So, all the "impulse and JJ should happen, the #1 face and heel..." comments were meant for all parties that are capable of making that happen. Pete, Gregg, whoever is on the booking team. Impulse shouldn't be a minor player on any card as the World Champ and certainly not because a suitable program isn't on the radar.

I can't speak to the champions seemingly being handled like upper mid-card guys. Those who have already said that would know that much better than I, but to me the champion should be the featured player. And Impulse right now should be what drives NFW. And in that manner where are the heels ready to have their shot?

I like Pulse as a face. That he won't break his rules. Who's ready to test that will power? To me a face is like a straight man in a comedy team. He's got the harder job, but how well he/she works will be determined by the other half of the duo. Impulse needs to be tested. He needs to be driven to his breaking point.

If Castor is gone right now, JJ/Impulse should happen. Why does the HFC exist if not to make life a living hell for the new face champion?

Just my thoughts.

Sorry it took me a bit to get with everyone.

Anyways, my thoughts as to JJ/Impulse are as follows:

1) I need to communicate this better. But JJ's initial motivation in joining NFW was to obtain power by any means necessary. First, he was the loyal soldier for The Windham Clan and their "ace in the hole." But then the power grew to his head and he would rather win matches by power plays and chickanery (i.e., screwing Jack over). But then he and Troy had a few chats that I RP'd where Troy was proud of JJ's rise up the food chain (since Troy was into power plays himself) but told JJ no one gave a shit about him changing around direct deposit accounts and the like. He had to earn true power by proving himself in the ring. And Troy's last speech to JJ before the Randalls/Troy match was a passing of the torch -- Troy told JJ that JJ was his equal in the ring, something Troy has never said to anyone else. JJ of course than pulled one last power play (forming the HFC) but now knows that what he has to do is prove it in the ring.

2) Castor's come after JJ and the HFC. JJ pinned Castor in the 5 on 5 match. He was the last person to pin Castor -- Impulse didn't do that in their match, which was a scaffold match. Castor went on one of the biggest tears of all-time (the huge NFW reign, Ultratitle, etc.) and now JJ wants to prove that wasn't a fluke. I really need to get with that a bit more but used my RP time to get the Rook Black into HFC stuff going (w/ JJ).

3) Eddie Mayfield just put out a cigarette on JJ's neck. JJ's a very petty person. That's not going to fly. There's something going on with that.

4) JJ already pinned Impulse and, in his mind, has completely discredited him in doing so. JJ, in short, doesn't really recognize Impulse as the champion. He has also started calling Rook Black "The Real World's Champion" and that's a great feud brewing. Impulse has the title but JJ already beat him and has other fish to fry -- just as Impulse thinks he rose about JJ, JJ thinks he's light years above Impulse.

On top of Pete's explanation --

1) I think Impulse making JJ jump through hoops is a good thing AND it is exactly what JJ would do to him. (Or, more accurately, what JJ would have done to him. But in the HFC-era JJ, who knows? Not that JJ is above cheating -- certainly not -- but he knows he has to get respect in the ring to get more than just token office power that everyone has come to ignore.)

2) But if that happens, there has to be a negative reaction to that. Those people that cheered Impulse when he didn't hit JJ with a chair? Now they're seeing the same character who has been a fighting spirit sort of face use the same methods the heels he's acted above use. But those people who booed Impulse (or, more accurately, went on blogs about it) would now like Impulse for being edgy.

I think Impulse would work best in that fashion. He's been cast a a "black-or-white" character who makes decisions based on that but often finds himself in these uncomfortable shades of grey -- and they're of his own doing. That's the most interesting thing about the character.

As far as the World Title being the main match -- yeah, I'm a belt mark, so I agree with that. But look at WrestleMania the past XXX years -- the most interesting match has always been The Undertaker's streak. And Ric Flair's retirement match vs. Shawn Michaels. I can't even remember any of the past Wrestlemania title matches.

Since I'm sort of on the booking committee, I can definitely say that Katz and JN and myself all want the World Title to be the most important thing in the league. But there will sometimes be better feuds and stories. There's a lot of really good RPers and characters and sometimes there's just a lot of magic in the mid-card whereas the upper card doesn't have that WOW thing.

But I completely think that will be rectified. Pete's dude has the title -- when hasn't Pete done cool stuff w/ his characters? A really good challenger will pop up soon. It just won't be any of my dudes for the time being because of other plans.

Like I said:

1) JJ has the Castor thing (Billy and I have never had a feud somehow). Billy's my main man and I want that to be incredibly epic in its arc.

2) Legion's been stepping up in a BIG way with the Blaine stuff and we/I need to work with that. It'd be a total crime on my part as the HFC's handler to not run with him and get him up the card after doing really awesome work. Legion and his crew are really interesting and getting them REALLY interesting is dependent on them being in a hot feud which I have to step up with.

3) I've also got some other plans w/ Dorchester that I want to do post-Jack.

Just more of my thoughts.
