Another holiday, another note.
In this case, however, the holiday is a special one. March 17 is not just St. Patrick's Day (as our resident LUSH Zieba knows all too well), but also marks the traditional anniversary of the CSWA. Steve and I can't remember the exact date, but it was over spring break in 1988.
Of course that means... TWENTY YEARS.
Granted, the last couple haven't been consistent by any means, but they've still provided some moments: GOLD RUSH and Dan Ryan's o-fish-al ascension as UNIFIED Champ, the CRUISE and some special moments with our friendly neighborhood Hacker, Troy Windham's resurrection and reign at the top.
On a personal note, the last eight weeks or so since my last 'backstage' note have been tied up working on the largest deal I've ever landed at work. It's been a challenge, obviously. I'm traveling there one more time this week, then expect to have at least a little more control over my schedule for a while.
So what does that mean? It means that for the CSWA to get to the point where it can celebrate its 20th anniversary, I need significant help. As part of that, Pete Russo has agreed to step up once again and become Co-President, a role that has been empty since Tard (God rest his soul) was unceremoniously fired and put on a rigged plane. Pete will not only be keeping me in line as necessary, but will also have full booking authority and the ability to run the site (post cards, etc.) in the event that I'm not available due to work.
The plan to move things along has been modified and shortened a bit. More information will be posted in the Members' Discussion forum, but you should look for the next card to come on March 17th. Yes, that holiday I mentioned earlier.
If you're reading this and you're a long-time CSWA handler, please join us backstage and your two cents for the card (it'll be easy, I promise). If you're a CSWA fan or simply wandering past this note and want to be involved in things, simply post a note here and we'll tell you how.
Thanks all.
