Okay so everything in the house runs on wi-fi except my PS3 and my computer. All other computers, phones, etc run on WiFi. Recently one of the desktops died and we had an adapter to plug into it to pick up the signal from the modem/router combo we use. Well I never had any problems with it until it was plugged into that damn laptop. Here's what it does:

When it's plugged into the laptop (and only the laptop) it will cut the internet through the entire house making it jump on and off. I can't figure out why it's that ONE computer it does it on. The only reason the WiFi isn't enabled on the laptop and we're using the adapter is because the WiFi in the laptop went bonkers and stopped working. So I thought well maybe the laptop is still trying to pick up a wifi signal with the adapter so I turned the WiFi switch off just in case but the problem keeps happening. I've never seen anything like this before. Any ideas?
