Potential Expansion of the Tournament/Other ideas

I've noted that the slots in the tournament seem to filling up at a rather rapid pace - and had two ideas on how to deal with a 96 person tournament should the need arise.

Potential Expansion

1. First round triple threat matches - This would give use 32 triple threat matches - which could then be used to narrow the field to 64 (one person eliminated - other two move on) or to 32 (elimination style - winner stays on). I personally like the first one, but either or.

2. 3 Brackets of 32 - Triple Threat final - self-explanatory - 3 brackets of 32 wrestlers plays out - with a triple threat finale for the winners of each individual bracket.

Bracket Pool

Another idea, I had which could/could not involve a prize - is a NCAA style bracket pool - where you collect points for each match pick correctly (with each round being worth double the points). I think this would make it fun maybe for someone that can't find the time to RP for the tourney or someone who maybe gets knocked out early.

Seeding

This would run kind of contrary to the Bracket Pool idea (although you could implement the Pool after round 64). As I understood it from the podcast is that there would be some type of scoring/grading template for the roleplays. Here, my idea is to re-seed the tournament after the first round based upon first round grades.

Theoretically, you could also grade our entry-level RPs and then seed according to that. I think seeding makes it fun - will add an element/storyline for everyone (underdogs v. favorites, no respect, etc.).

Just a few things I figured I'd throw out to improve the experience.

All great ideas, thanks! I'm working on some options for the "Bracket Pool" idea, but we'll see if I can pull it off.

If we get past 64 participants it'll be a great problem to have. I've asked folks to hold off on entering any "second" characters for a few days until we know where we are numbers-wise.

$10 entrance fee. Winner rakes in a cool thousand. Second place gets $280. Third place gets the card printed, laminated, and delivered to their front door by Chad wearing a purple Hornets jump-suit.

How about, take applications until you stop getting them.

Then decide if there needs to be a play-in tournament, seeds, wild-cards, or what.

This is how it should go, derp.

To ensure dedication from participants, how about have each of them write a 'qualifying match' against a pre-generated wrestler, and have the match quality (not necessarily length) determine the tournament seeds.

How about if I skip that **** entirely?

I didn't join this tournament to write matches, I joined it to start a legacy.

AN E-WRESTLING LEGACY!

AGAIN!

FOR THE THIRD TIME!

Or more.

Whatever, I'm gonna win no matter what, so you guys just let me know when and where to post.

Motion to focus on one bracket at a time, especially during the early rounds of the tournament where a single bracket might involve as many as 16 handlers RPing against each other. There's going to be plenty of quality RPs and I'd appreciate if everyone would have their time in the sun; besides, if you judge 64 handlers all at once the judges are bound to be tired and be affected by the sheer mass of roleplays.

You guys have plenty of time to do this anyhow; don't put more than 16 handlers on the spot at once.

The schedule pretty much breaks down by bracket - with only a day or two of overlap here and there - should be fine.
