Do people really think that we are our characters?

According to the roleplay I just read, the answer to that is yes.

I'm not sure what else to add to this.

I realize that this is much later, but I wanted to speak to this once I knew you were referring to my first one.

Whealdon's handler sent me the following not eon EWZine a coupel of days prior to RPing being open for the match...

PRIVATE MESSAGE REMOVED BY ADMIN

So when I got that....I didn't know exactly how to RP at first. So I wrote one that started in a memorial day theme and then transitioned it to address the idea that Whealdon isn't happy. And that lack of motivation will make it easy to win.

I wasn't shooting OOC per se.....but it did hit close.

And no, I don't confuse people with their characters.....well most of them anyway....one particular bike riding Canadian makes it difficult at times....

However when I receive that note, effectively saying he isn't challenging me....apologizing for not giving me a contest....what am I to do?

Luckily, I think Aaron got motivated by that RP and seems to be trying....but I don't know for sure. So I keep writing as normal.

It is crazy to think that I could be in a legit match with someone who told me he was not competing. I'm still waiting fo rhis Korean outburst though.....that would be funny.

Note to self: leak confidential information purposely by sending private messages to The Hopper.

Already knew all of that.

As Aaron's fedhead, I was on him pretty hard about not giving up. Same with Jeff.

I am proud and elated to say that both of them have found their workrate boots.

Wasn't trying to stir up anything....just pointing out the reasons why I wrote a flash that seemed to spawn an entire thread. LOL

And I'm glad he showed up.....I wrote him asking if that first RP was why he decided to not write Korean, but he never has told me. LOL

Chris.

I think you're a solid dude. But you just blew ANY chance of us ever doing any work together, ever. While I kind of outlined my feelings before hand. Posting a private message, more than a little low grade. While I'm not sure you were trying to stir anything up with your first roleplay.

Here you are.

The reason I haven't answered your pm's, which you keep sending me by the by. Is because I don't really have the time to. If I wrote a roleplay in Korean, Binary(again), hexidecimal, post modern, what have you. That's my business. The fact is, I had a low moment during this tournament, I got through it. and I decided to let you know how I was feeling at the moment. Had you done the same thing, I'd have kept it close to the vest.

While, I appreciate WHY exactly you're trying to dredge this up. It's still pretty lame, and bush league.

Note to self: do not continually send Aaron private messages. Even if I really, really want to know his honest opinion of how attractive he finds me on a scale of 1-10.

In all fairness, the kid was being called out on his roleplay (ironically enough by someone who gets extremely sensitive if it is done to him) and he chose to explain himself.

While posting a "private message" isn't necessarily the best route to take in such a situation, it wasn't as if he posted information that you hadn't already made public knowledge.

The amount of sensitivity at this point is a little overboard and ultimately you need to take this game for what its worth, having fun, while not stewing over little petty things.
