Suplex the elder gods: Spooky Doom!

Spooky Doom is the nephew to a certain 6' 10" supernatural undead zombie pro-wrestler; or so the story goes. When he was but a child, Spooky saw his uncle locked inside of an airtight coffin with no possibility of escape before reappearing on video screen from inside his own coffin. Needless to say, young Spooky was traumatised. He vowed vengeance on the evil doers who'd murdered his uncle and the fact that his uncle returned to (un)life a few months later thanks to help from the late Leslie Nielsen changes nothing. Spooky Doom had made a vow.

Today, Spooky Doom scours the realm of professional wrestling for modern day monsters to send to the grave. By whatever twist of fate, the kid actually managed to land a job as some manner of Grim Reaper-like thingy and, in his own words, hunts for the souls of those who have none. Nobody is entirely too clear about how a Spooky Doom works, except for the fact that he does and he's pretty gosh darn good when he enters the ring.

Speaking of which, lucha libre. How does it work? Well it's pretty close to American wrestling where it counts: over-the-top heroes taking on demonic villains, everyone wearing crazy costumes, the larger-than-life personalities hidden beneath the thin fabric of a mask... The main difference is in how much older lucha libre is. We're talking traditions with roots far more ancient than anything seen in America. Spooky Doom adapted to the lucha lifestyle quite early on in his career, taking to the high flying action like fish to water; but during his spare time he could be found digging through the history of the sport, seeking out much of its forbidden secrets.

"That is not dead which can eternal lie. And with strange aeons even death may die."
- "The Nameless City" by H.P. Lovecraft, 1921.

Curious to a fault, Spooky Doom researched the more eldritch mysteries of lucha libre in the vast libraries of the Angelopolis. He threw himself into those dusty tomes with the same energy with which he'd throw himself into opponents during matches! Long forgotten texts spoke of DOOM, but the young luchador-in-training remained undeterred. Help came from foreign scholars who were similarly enticed by the terrible powers spoken only in whispers by the elders of the ring. Fear may be a powerful force but money has it's own way of forcing through secrets; an advantage in having a frequently dead uncle is that one receives multiple inheritances as a result, perfect for financing archeological expeditions.

Since professional wrestlers are both travelers and fighters by nature, Spooky never missed out on an opportunity to explore the Mexican countryside. After all, even secluded villagers need their wrestling. Debuting luchadors can be expected to work two venues per day, seven days a week; the lil' Phenom was kept busy throughout his apprenticeship but managed to parcel much of the country in his quest to discover lost artifacts. He would be rewarded for his patience upon finding the sinister grimoire known as the Hurricanecronomicon, the luchador's book of the dead.

"Ours is not a perfect world, and therefore the old must die in order that the young, that which is more perfect or at any rate capable of greater perfection, may live. Thus death becomes a thing necessary and useful in the evolution of the whole; the destruction of one celestial body contributes to the progress of the rest of the universe."
- "The End of the World" by Max Wilhem Meyer, 1908.

Spooky Doom emerged from his journey a new man. Or at least a new kid, as we are still far from the time where Spooky would gain fame in the better known American companies: SWAT wrestling, the ICWF, Shootfire Pro, Hardkore Japan and now... the IWF right here amongst the FWrestling leages. Spooky Doom innovates wrestling techniques with frightening ease, capturing the attention of the rapt audience with his unearthly skill and supernatural high flying talent. Cursed with shortness (this killer of wrestling careers), Spooky Doom spends most of his days at the gym trying to find new ways to bulk up and add size to his body; which means that at 195 pounds for a mere 5' 7" inch frame, Spooky is a little bundle of muscle that hits opponents like dense super-concentrated dark matter off of every accurate dive. And he kicks like a mule, too.

Now he's here, wrestling for the biggest prize in the land, the ULTRATITLE. Immediately recognizable in his low V-cut sleeveless skintight hoodie and by his dark horseshoe-shaped green flame etched mask, Spooky Doom is certainly one of the more colorful entries in the tournament. He's the Ghost Warrior, the Undead Superstar, the Grim Avenger of Lucha Libre... a world champion-level luchador who's not shy about his accomplishments. Many doubt whether Carl Brigsby will make for a viable opponent when he meets Spooky in their first round match. Few know of any accomplishments associated to Brigsby's name and give him little chance of escaping the lil' Grim Reaper thingy with his soul intact. These are things that happen in the world of professional wrestling.

For this is the tale of a young boy who accepted everything that pro-wrestling was about. The good, the bad, the strange, the eerily wonderful; Spooky Doom adopts it all and turns it into a part of himself. He carries forth a hard-earned lesson from his travels: that as big as an individual may be, the sport of wrestling is that much bigger. It's ancient and terrible and possibly filled with dark elder gods; but whatever wrestling throws at you, you must be big enough to accept it. Therein lies the true strength of Spooky Doom.

Many of the competitors will claim they need the ULTRATITLE to validate their existance, how their extensive work in this business makes them the only ones worthy of the prize. Spooky Doom knows it doesn't work that way. It isn't about what you need, but what you give. It's not about the destination, but the road getting there. This story has now entered a new chapter, about Spooky's quest to initiate everyone around him to the wonderful world of lucha as he knows it. It's exciting, glamorous and more than a little bit scary; but unless you're willing to take wrestling up in its entirety then you won't survive the Spooky Doom once the fateful hour arrives.

Spooky Doom: "Hey there, apologies for the lateness but those lousy 2$ alarm clocks just can't be trusted. It's your old pal Spooky Doom, here at the ULTRATITLE tournament to show you the time of your life... and as some manner of lil' Grim Reaper thingy, I'll even stick by you when that ends! Just wanted to drop a warning: don't let the size fool you, there isn't anyone else in the world who hits as hard as I do. With my words, with my blows; I've defeated seven foot tall giants because their punches couldn't match the size of my dropkicks. It's a parable: I win on account of putting everything I am into what I do. When I strike, whether it's in the ring or on the mic, I hold nothing back. Unstoppable resolve is the eldritch secret of my success. If you know me, you know this already, if you don't, dumbass will learn. Regardless of where you fit, get ready to hear my name."

SPOO-KY DOOM!

"Awwwwwwwwwwwww yeah!"
