(CUE UP: “Mind the Drift” by Big Business.)

(The shot opens up on an ordinary fibrous cord sitting by itself along a black background. Off camera, we hear something a match being struck... and a small flame is soon carried into the frame by a disembodied hand. As it touches the cord, a sparkling and fast-burning orb of flame forms and works its way down the length of the thread. In the next shot, as the fire passes by, it reveals a set of words hanging overhead...)

International Wrestling Federation Presents...

THE FUSE

(We cut to a studio. The camera slowly tracks in on two silhouetted figures sitting behind a broadcast table. The music fades out as the studio lights come up, AARON CREED and TERRY “THE IDOL” ANDERSON are seated before the viewing screen.)

Aaron Creed
Hello once again, wrestling fans! I’m Aaron Creed...

Terry “The Idol” Anderson
And the freakin’ STALLION seated right next to him is none other than Terry “THE IDOL” Anderson!!

Aaron Creed
...and welcome to our second episode of International Wrestling Federation’s THE FUSE! We’re broadcasting live from our home city of Seattle.

Terry “The Idol” Anderson
Via the INTERWEBZ!!

Aaron Creed
Late night, Terry?

Terry “The Idol” Anderson
What makes you say that, Creedster?

Aaron Creed
You smell like an open six-pack of PBR...

(Terry shrugs and lets out a pealing belch that makes his partner recoil in disgust.)

Terry “The Idol” Anderson
What can I say, man? You caught me red-handed...

Aaron Creed
Let’s just begin the program... beginning with a quick recap of Chain Reaction Oh-One!

Terry “The Idol” Anderson
GROOVY!!

(Creed hits a button the table, and the viewing screen behind them begins playing through highlights of the show. First, Perfection forces Dol-FAN to submit with the Picture Perfect hold.)

Aaron Creed
International Wrestling Federation’s first broadcast show since its resurrection certainly lived up to its expectations! We saw a total of four debut matches... beginning with PERFECTION pulling out a solid victory by submission over Dol-FAN.

Terry “The Idol” Anderson
Absolutely PERFECT way to make a splash!

(The next sequence shows “Sub Pop” Scott Douglas drilling “The Fallen Angel” Stephen Waltz head-first into the mat.)

Aaron Creed
Following that, Seattle’s own “SUB POP” SCOTT DOUGLAS had an impressive win over Terry’s own student, Stephen Waltz...

Terry “The Idol” Anderson
Complete and utter horsefeathers! The ref was PAID OFF to look the other way!

(The following sequence shows Kerry Kuroyama standing tall in the ring, his arm raised by the referee in victory.)

Aaron Creed
Another Seattle native, KERRY KUROYAMA, also walked away a winner over David “The Bird” Gilbride in a rather one-sided battle...

Terry “The Idol” Anderson
ANYBODY looks great when they throw a vegetable like Gilbride in the ring!

(In the next sequence, Mary-Lynn Mayweather forces Colt-FAN to tap out with the Locked in Legalese STF hold.)

Aaron Creed
And in the final match, everyone’s favorite wrestling attorney MARY-LYNN MAYWEATHER stood victorious over Colt-FAN...

(Terry’s eyes almost bug out of his head as he looks at the screen.)

Terry “The Idol” Anderson
MAN, she’s agile! That just gives me so much to think about...

Aaron Creed
Ahem...

(The final sequence shows all four competitors standing in the ring with Art Mori. As Mori awards the briefcase of 10 large over Mayweather, Perfection lashes out and attacks her, running off with the cash in hand.)

Aaron Creed
Every victor of the night earned a qualifying spot in the Emerald City Title Tournament, which will continue at the next show. After the event, however, Perfection reacted in a quite controversial manner after the $10,000 prize for Top Performer of the Night went to Mary-Lynn Mayweather.

Terry “The Idol” Anderson
I mean, she’s a good lookin’ piece of ass, but she in NO WAY deserved to named Top Performer over a man whose EVERY performance is nothing short of PERFECT, each and every time!

Aaron Creed
How can you say that, Terry? You’ve only seen Perfection in ONE MATCH!

Terry “The Idol” Anderson
Sometimes, one match is all it takes in order to convince a veteran that he’s looking at the FUTURE of professional wrestling!

Aaron Creed
Oh, whatever... in any case, in the weeks that followed, International Wrestling Federation saw a two more additions to its growing roster!

(Creed hits the button, cueing up a picture of a grinning Dusty Rodgers.)

Aaron Creed
All the way from West Texas, where the spirit of professional wrestling still runs deep, comes DUSTY RODGERS!

Terry “The Idol” Anderson
From what I hear, this guy is as old-school as it gets!

Aaron Creed
Rumor has it, he’ll be appearing at Chain Reaction #2 to go head to head with ERIK MATEO, who unfortunately missed out at the prior event. We’ll see what Dusty can do in the ring when that time comes... but right now, let’s look at our next newcomer...

(He hits the button again, and the stern, calculated face of Vizier ta Seti appears on the screen.)

Aaron Creed
Egyptian-born VIZIER TA SETI comes to us in swathed in a layer of mystery. Even so, it didn’t take this stranger long to make some opening statements to the federation days after his signing. Let’s have a look...

(A punch of the button on the desk cues up an edited segment of Seti’s introductory promo on the screen.)

Vizier ta Seti
The key to building anything is to start with a strong foundation. I have no interest in these multimillion dollar companies that had no interest in me. My foundation will begin with Stephen Waltz, and will continue through the whole of the International Wrestling Federation. Every journey has a first step. Every legend has a first chapter. The pages of my past life are in tatters on the ground, around me. Behind me. They shaped me into who I was, but they have no bearing on who I will become.

(The screen goes to the IWF logo, and Terry immediately makes a mock-fearful face and twiddles his fingers through the air.)

Terry “The Idol” Anderson
WOO~!! Scary sandman, coming to take all our souls away! I’m so scared!

Aaron Creed
Can’t deny the determination in that man’s eyes, Terry...

Terry “The Idol” Anderson
Bah! The only thing HE’S determined to do is to make an ASS out of himself! At Chain Reaction #2, my boy Stephen will make mop the FLOOR with that big-talking street rat!

Aaron Creed
Your confidence in your student never dwindles, Terry... but all the same, you really think Waltz can bounce back after a tough loss against Scott Douglas and pull out a win on the newcomer?

Terry “The Idol” Anderson
Put money on the table, Creedster... RIGHT NOW! Chain Reaction Numero DOS, my boy Stephen Waltz over Vision-Tea-Sofa! I don’t just THINK it... I GUARANTEE IT!

Aaron Creed
If you say so...

(Creed just hits the button to bring up the next screen, showing head-to-head portraits: Kuroyama next to Douglas, Mayweather next to Perfection.)

Aaron Creed
Also scheduled to appear at the next Chain Reaction are the winners from our last episode, moving into the first series of matches for the Emerald City Title Tournament. Mary-Lynn Mayweather will get her chance at revenge against Perfection in one match... and both natives of Seattle will face off in the other. Would you like to make any predictions with your “veteran” opinion, Terry?

Terry “The Idol” Anderson
Perfection over Mayweather, easy as that! Sure, she’s got the bazongas to keep the ref distraction, but Perfection can think above that! On top of that, he’s not afraid to rough up a woman who’s out of line! He’s ALL man!

Aaron Creed
Right... and as we all “know” from YOU, it takes a hell of a “man” to rough up a woman. No wonder Gail has a restraining order out on you...

Terry “The Idol” Anderson
Gail, baby, if you’re listening, DADDY WANTS YOU BACK!!

Aaron Creed
What about Kuroyama and Douglas?

Terry “The Idol” Anderson
Ehh... don’t care? I’ll give the edge to Douglas, I guess. Chump must have SOME talent to best my boy Steph-O...

Aaron Creed
There you have it, fans... the expert predictions of one of this industry’s self-proclaimed “great legends of wrestling.” We’re out of time right now, but we’ll see you again at the Moss Bay Event Center for the next episode of Chain Reaction!

Terry “The Idol” Anderson
OPEN BAR, DUDE!!

Aaron Creed
Once again, with Terry “The Idol” Anderson, I’m Aaron Creed... and thank you for joining us here on THE FUSE!

(The outtro to “Mind the Drift” begins playing again as the studio lights come down and the camera tracks backwards. Soon after, we fade to black.)
