Handler Information

Name: Sam
Email Address: theman75@hotmail.com
Preferred Method of Handling: (Don't Care)
Best Way to Contact You: (Forum, Email)
eWrestling Experience:
(What have you done? Where?)
--Handled in the WfWA for a few years as Sam Horrey in the EWC, OCW (2x), SWF, and AWA. Also in other efeds like the GWA, FTW and OCWF where I got my first start

How did you find Defiance? My Good Buddy James threatened to eat my family if I didn't join, I was still on the fence, though and Justin talked me in.

Writing Sample

Here's the thing. What we want here in Defiance is for you to sell us on you as a handler. How you do that is up to you. Link us to an old RP. Write a new one. Link to a match you wrote. Just convince us that you want to be here and that you're worth having here.

This is the most important part of your application. I'm serious about that.

He finally had a moment to himself. Whether the Sao Paolo media had finally ran out of questions, or saw the exhaustion in his eyes is up for debate. The only thing Sam Johnson knows for sure is that his locker room is quiet, his teammates have gone...

...and he is alone.

Of course, she wasn't going to let it remain that way.

"Do I sound like I'm playing?! You put him on the cover now! I don't care if you have to feed your firstborn to Carlos de Sousa himself!" Jeanie thundered. "The World's best fighter, your Campeon de Campeones just fought in his last fight. That warrants coverage, like no other. Cover, and a top ten article of his best fights do you understand me?!"

Meet Jeanie Davis, Sam's everything. She functions as his agent, his lawyer, his chef, his priest, his stylist, his cheerleader, his critic, his interior decorator, his publicist and sometime lover.

His everything--literally.

"So Manuel just so we're straight if we--and by we I mean, me--are not happy, rest assured I will fly back down here and stick my size 5 so far up your ass, my heel will play the xylophone on your ribs. Plus you'll owe me a new pair of Prada's..."

Charming, isn't she?

"C'mon Jeanie, cut Manny a break. His wife just had their kid what, 2 days ago?" Sam mumbled from the bench. His eyes were barely opened.

"I know, I know. Cute kid too." Jeanie nodded. "I just didn't want him to think I'd gone soft."

Jeanie in her coffee-colored power suit, walked to Sam who was still in his gear. She put a towel across his lap and sat down.

He wrapped his brawny arms around her. "I'm really lookin' forward to Defiance. Couldn't have done this without you."

"Aww, you big teddy bear." She hugged him tight. "Don't forget you couldn't have gotten the signing bonus without me either. Or your new hi-rise in Manhattan, or your car, or..."

"...Really?" Sam interrupted.

"I'm just kiddin' babe. I couldn't possibly list everything you owe me thanks for." She kissed his forehead.
"Case in point, the wrestling trainer we're gonna meet with when we get back home."

Sam raised a quizzical eyebrow.

"Pound-for-Pound the best fighter in the world, and now I gotta learn how to wrestle?" Sam's eyes were now wide open. "Already did that in high school and college."

"Yeah, but that was ameteur. The wrestling in Defiance...vastly different. Trust me, you're gonna need all your skill and thensome to thrive there." Jeanie nodded.

"We'll see." Sam patted her bottom, she gets off his lap in return. "I'm gonna hit the showers, we'll talk more on the way back to the hotel, mama."

She returned a hard slap to Sam's bottom. "Stick with me you dangerous lump of clay, and I'll mold you into the greatest pro-wrestler I have ever seen!"

He chucked his towel at her.

"And that mama, frightens me."

Wrestler(s) Information

Please take note of a couple things. It is highly likely that a few roster members will critique your moveset. Please don't be offended. We take that shit seriously here - we don't want a moveset full of finishers and a finisher so ludicrously over-elaborate that it couldn't be done in real life. This goes double if you're applying as a female wrestler. We also check to make sure your finisher(s) and theme song aren't currently being used. It's first come first serve when it comes to those.

And if you're one of those handlers who hates doing movesets, just say so and Jeff will do it for you.

Ring Name: "The H.N.I.C." Sam Johnson
Height: 6'1
Weight: 236 lbs.
Entrance Song: "Ambitionz as a Killa" Cam'ron --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NaMf-a8HthU

Hailing From: The East Elmhurst section of Queens, New York.

Alignment: Face

Gimmick: He's a newbie to the business of professional wrestling. Loves the competition aspect of it, but completely clueless as to how it all works. Jeanie is a bit more knowledgeable about the business aspect. She's driven by her own demons to make it work for the both of them. She's the professional; he's the wrestler. And Sam is totally comfortable with that.

Wrestling Style: Psychology is something he's fine tuning as he goes on. Generally he likes to wear down his opponents with Punches, knees, elbows, and hard roundhouse kicks. Suplexes are used frequently also. Joint submissions like the straight armbar, or kneebar are used as wear downs also. Choke submissions are a sign he's ready to end the match. He's raw and green, rough around the edges, not exactly polished.

Three Weaknesses:

1. Psychology isn't something he's mastered. Sam can be vulnerable during a match trying to figure out what move he should do next.
2. Aerial artists have a distinct advantage over him. He doesn't get high flyers; doesn't understand why somebody would put themselves in such a vulnerable postion. If Sam is prone on the mat, he'd move out the way if somebody were going to crash down on to him. If Sam is standing however, he gets a deer-in-the-headlights look whenever an aerial artist flies at him, so they're like 90% effective against him.
3. Power Wrestlers--Big Power Wrestlers. Sam has faced 7 ft monsters before, but never an opponent over 280 pounds or 300 pounds. At 236 pounds, Sam's not exactly the biggest guy. He's not used to being in the ring against someone who could rag doll him. He'll likely eschew everything he's taught with regards to pro wrestling, and go with what he knows, which could either work for Sam, or get him disqualified.

Three Strengths:

1. Striking game is stiff, crisp. They do a ton of damage.
2. Grappling game is even more so. His torque on his submissions is dangerous. His leverage and grip strength make it possible for him to suplex just about anybody.
3. Conditioning. Sam is very durable. Won a fight that lasted 50 min with no rounds.

MOVESET

Ten regular moveset moves:

1) Punches
2) Roundhouse kicks to the body, and to the leg (head too--rarely, only when he's desperate)
3) German Suplex
4) Clothesline
5) Armbar-->

6) Kneebar--> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyNbnBEh0nk
7) Belly to Belly suplex Overhead
8) T-Bone Suplex
9) Heel Hook-->

10) Omoplata--> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KaHAWCDcc64

2-5 trademark moves:

1) Ground and Pound-->
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LKADggv018
2) Triangle Choke--> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UiR9R7VlOME
3) Muay Thai clinch w/ knees--> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LazyoSzuGWU
4) Deadlift Gutwrench Suplex--> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDe7qHVSRms (only big matches)
5) Anaconda Choke-->
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JHu4x2y4EU (sparingly, big matches tertiary finisher)

1 Finishing Move: Black Magic--Sam explodes at an opponent, springing off them for extra leverage, to bash his opponent senseless with a flying Muay Thai style knee. Could be done while opponent is standing or kneeling. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0XpcrGQ3_c for reference)

Murderdeathkill Finishing Move
(Optional) Execution-Style Roundhouse Kick: The most lethal version of the Roundhouse kick in Sam's arsenal. With an opponent on one or both knees, Sam delivers a brutal roundhouse kick to his opponent's head. Complete shin on head force, that with Sam's kicking power and expertise knocks his opponent's out. Sam can miss the kick, or it can be parried, or countered; but if it connects: game over.--> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tR_7FQrVgNI (Affects opponents like Orton's Punt kick where they don't know their head from their ass afterward) Has that 'crack' sound to it a la Tajiri, that the announcers sell hard.

Sure, welcome aboard, but I do have a question.

This character, is he "the same as Sam Horrey but starting over without all the continuity" or a completely different character?
