I'm down with creating drama by forecasting, like it was mentioned how the WWE structures it's 'season' - Royal Rumble feeds into Wrestlemania - the time between that is the Road to. People are interested because there's a natural build. As long as we keep going forward I think people will have an interest and a stake in the action.

I also believe in everyone's characters having something to do. Random matches are boring to me if there's nothing tying them down into a storyline in some fashion.

I think an Iranian uber-heel is just what NFW needs right now.

Since forecasting is being mentioned...

Where are we drawing the lines with this? I can set up all kinds of calendar dates, but how realistic is that for us to achieve?

And how much of a bigger show should we know ahead of time, so we can set a reasonable deadline to get the bigger matches in?

Bigger shows have always taken a month just to write, let alone all the RP involved.

Really wish I could edit posts!

...anyway, now that I have thought about it. Bigger shows probably took longer than a month during our better times.

I've been able to edit posts by clicking "Go Advanced" and then doing it. Try that.

Next SUPERCRASH: President's Day Massacre.

Main Event: Joe the Plumber vs. Dorchester Stratton

It's up to Devin and Gregg if they can both make it there. :)

My question is more around the fact that someone has to write the match and probably get cracking on it way ahead of time. People showing up to RP has never really been an issue here.

As for forecasting, we can totally do a test run, and evaluate how it went, and make the decision for the general schedule based on what we think of the results.

Set up the prototype events for it and try it out.

Say, let's set up a four month cycle for our test run? What do we want to put in there?

I would say 5 televised shows (basically one per month) and 5 house shows might work best. That could lead into an April PPV or special event. SuperCrash 3, Futureshock 2, whatever you wanna call it. Is that too much? Too little?

The question is how to setup the house shows and televised shows so that there's enough time to get the TV shows done. I know a lot of guys won't even start writing matches until they know the winners. At that point, you're writing a match and possibly RPing for a house show/two. Most important is to allow for a somewhat structured writing schedule with hard, but manageable deadlines.

We will have to know planned big matches a decent amount of time before their RP thread goes up. So ideally matchwriters for a PPV have 3-4 weeks notice.

I just wanted to thank everyone for their thoughts/ideas in the thread. They were very helpful in determining where we go from here.

A new January rollcall is up and I tried to utilize some ideas in here in the sign-up for that.

I've also posted a First Quarter Schedule layout for everyone to see what we're building to. I wanted to give until April on the 'bigger' show since we're still just getting our feet wet.

As we push forward and get more consistency, more ideas may be implemented from this thread. There's a couple more ideas mentioned in the thread that will be happening, but I need to contact some important players before that happens.

THANKS AGAIN!
