New Signing, and other news

It has been reported that burning river wrestling, the new promotion based out of Cleveland, OH has signed MMA star Bryce Silva. Silva was a rising star fighting out of the Brazilian Top Team Gym in Las Vegas and compiled an impressive 12-3 record in MMA competition before mysteriously dropping out of the scene a little over a year ago.

BRW Director of Talent Relations Stern Shamrock had this to say,

Via burning-river.net:

"This is a great signing for burning river wrestling, while Silva is relatively young and is very raw in terms of experience in a traditional pro-wrestling environment; burning river is anything but traditional. Silva is just the kind of competitor that fits the burning river mold perfectly, a hard-hitting young stud with a Jiu-Jitsu background. We can't wait to watch Silva make the transition into the world of professional wrestling, and we are very pleased that he has decided to do so inside the Asylum with burning river.

In other burning river news, while speaking during a conference call earlier today, a reporter made mention of the recent announcement by Niccoli Burbank, co-owner of the WCWA about the promotions decision to suspend operation.

“It’s a shame to see WCWA close its doors, while it has seen some hard time as of late, losing the rights to its territorial location to Wrestlecoast:Cascadia, the WCWA was a great promotion and an integral part of the World Wrestling Alliance. I’ve said before that we have made no movements in attempting to acquire the services of WCWA talent, but seeing that, at least for the time being, WCWA is on hiatus, if any WCWA competitor would like a chance to step into the Asylum and trade the squared circle for the Hexagon, they are more then welcome to come. As a matter of fact I will go on to say that I hope they seriously consider joining the burning river family.”
