IWL Talent Initiative Pulls Through
When it was announced on EWZine and several other news publications that IWL was launching a talent initiative, many in the industry sighed and moaned loudly. "Oh great they're pulling a WWE move," they said. Well that is the case here, BUT in many aspects it's not so much the same. IWL doesn't have a farm fed or a developmental territory to go to when it's needs talent. When the IWL roster needs some fresh blood, they go to the source... the wrestlers themselves. IWL scouts and talent agents went across the United States and even into some parts of other countries and universes to try and get people to complete the void in the IWL roster. After much work and struggle, and problems with translators of all kinds, the IWL talent relations department is proud to announce it's recent set of additions to the IWL roster, and backstage crew. (Editor's Note: Didn't see that last one coming did ya?)
Firstly there's Marcus Gratton, the son of professional wrestling legend Eddie LeClair. Marcus has worked up a name for himself in other organizations up to this point in his wrestling career. Will he be able to recover his hot streak after taking such an assault in his later promotion?
Next, there's 'The San Francisco Treat' Michael Platt. Michael Platt worked his way up through several different promotions out in the West (or so at least he hopes), he makes his way into the IWL trying to make a name for himself here.
Thirdly, welcome TBone Walls into the IWL. TBone is a former state trooper for Charlotte, North Carolina who got into wrestling for all the fame, fortune, and championship gold there.
Next, we welcome Jones O'Laughlin to the IWL. Jones had traveled from promotion to promotion under the training of IWL World Television Champ The Nightmare. After a brief hiatus, Jones follows his mentor and tutor for several years right into the IWL.
Next welcome 'The Iceman' Dean Jones, not to be confused with IWL Hall of Famer 'The Icemann' Luis Malave. Another who has worked for several promotions earning championship gold. This Australian born wrestler looks to gain a lot more, in the IWL.
And finally, on the roster side of things, welcome Chris Childs. After working for the big guys up in the northeast, Chris Childs takes things back to the basics when he signs up and wrestles, for the IWL.
Please welcome all six of these great athletes into the Internet Wrestling League and the IWL roster of wrestlers.
BUT WAIT, there's more! In addition to signing six potentially great talents to the Internet Wrestling League via the Talent Initiative, the Talent Initiative also scored one backstage interviewer for the IWL OverDrive and Pay-Per-View events in Britney Leigh. Britney worked for several promotions earning several world championships and various honors including GCW's "Woman of the Year" and "Manager of the Year". Bringing both attitude and sexiness to whatever she does, posing for FHM and Stuff magazines and several movie credits to her name, the question isn't is she ready for the IWL, the question is the IWL ready for Britney Leigh? Only time will tell.
Look for these wrestlers, and interviewer, to make their debut in the OverDrive's to come. The question now is with the IWL Talent Initiative in full swing, who will the IWL sign (or re-sign) next?
