Matt Kurtis in action at Pure Dynamite

Matthew Kurtis defeated "Bad Boy" Joey Malone at our last event, but after the match he found himself upended by Joey's friends Esteban, Big Mitch, Mr. Slick's Double, and Chris Kamikaze! Now, an incensed Matthew Kurtis has told Terry Brandon that he wants a piece of them --- all of them at that! Well, Matt gets his wish. He will wrestle the team of Chris Kamikaze, 400 pound BIG MITCH and the latino sensation Esteban in a handicap match. It's almost a fair fight. Maybe if Gary was in the match too.
One thing is for sure, Matt has been on a rampage since 2008 started. Will the lovable losers be able to hold their own or are they just prime candidates for a bluegrass ass-kicking?

Astros suspended, fined, more

Commissioner Terry Brandon has released details of Donovan Astros' punishment to the wrestling media. Astros is in serious hot water after a vicious, unprovoked locker room attack hospitalized Intern Pete (as a result of a vertebreaker on the concrete floor). It turns out that Intern Pete is very lucky, suffering no permanent or altogether serious injuries, and should be out of the hospital within a week or two. He will be out of reporting action for sometime, however. Astros is reportedly desperate to remain in NAPW and has agreed to the following terms. The terms of Astros' punishment are as follows.

-Donovan Astros is off Sole Survivor and the April NAPW/REBEL supershow. However, Astros WILL still compete at Pure Dynamite at the request of the man Astros injured, Intern Pete! Pete apparently begged NAPW management to let Astros competed in this contest, where he locked inside the Steel Cage against THE BEAST until one man says "I Quit."

-Astros' contractually obligated title rematch has been stripped of him. That, combined with his disqualification from entering Sole Survivor will keep Astros out of the world title picture for a long time.

-On top of heavy fines totally up to two months salary, Astros has been required to donate a percentage of all future earnings from NAPW to the "Intern Pete Health & Education Fund," a benefit to help Intern Pete as he continues his post-secondary education and help pay for any bills he may be otherwise unable to pay while he is out of work due to injury.

-Finally, Astros is under strict probation with regards to all NAPW employees. Astros will be summarily terminated from his contract if he touches any non-wrestling NAPW employees, without hesitation.

This is without a doubt one of the most severe set of reprecussions issued in NAPW history. It will be interesting to see how Donovan Astros reacts over the coming months.

NAPW-online wishes Intern Pete a speedy recovery. Any well-wishes can be directed to GetWellPete@napw-online.com.

Dogs of Evil

A message was posted on the NAPW-online.com forums today. We can confirm it is legitimate based on information coming out of the NAPW offices. Teddy Davis and David Gage are now known as the "Dogs of Evil," managed by somebody unfamiliar to us named Valentina Evans. You can read the message here
In light of this official announcement, NAPW has booked the Dogs of Evil in a tag team match-up. They will make their tag debut ... against NAPW's hottest tag team, the #1 contenders to the tag titles, MYSTIC EXPOSITION!!!

Major news out of Canada Cup

The 2008 Canada Cup has come and gone. Last night's show was one of surprises, betrayals and perhaps controversies. It was also a night of emotion and happiness. NAPW fans are blown away that Krenshov is now NAPW World Champion, despite everything against him going into this contest. This serves as a reminder that truly, anything can happen in NAPW.
-In perhaps the biggest piece of news, Donovan Astros is in serious trouble from NAPW management after his brutal attack hospitalized Intern Pete. Astros has snapped after losing his title. No word yet on just what his punishment will be, but rumour is that Astros will be suspended, even if that wrecks the scheduled Astros/Beast Steel Cage "I Quit" finale. Keep it locked on NAPW-online.com for the latest on this situation, and we hope Intern Pete has a speedy recovery. Get well letters can be sent to the Calgary General Hospital.

-The Heritage Title controversy may be cleared up at our next event, March 18th back in Calgary. It is official: Stone Zellor will defend the title against Dez Carter, Jacob Venar and Trent Daniels in a first-fall four-corners match! Stone has held onto that title by hook or by crook. Now, it comes back to haunt him as three men he screwed out of the title get their shots at him in one match. Can Stone find a way to hold onto his precious gold?

-We have received word that Teddy Davis and David Gage, who viciously attacked "LDK" Lloyd Rees last night, will be sending a video message into NAPW-online.com shortly. We do not know if Davis will explain his actions, only that it will "contain our message." We can confirm that they are NOT connected to Mr. John Salton's separate vendetta against LDK. Rees wants answers from both men. Will he get them? Rumour has it that Salton has a surprise for LDK at "Pure Dynamite."

-In huge news, NAPW officials have negotiated a title rematch between Sexy Adorable Drunks and Mystic Exposition! At Sole Survivor III, these teams will compete in a special 2/3 falls contest. The first fall will be contested under normal rules. The second fall will be SUPERSTAR rules. The third fall, if needed, will be a LADDER MATCH! This will be the final encounter between SAD and Mystic Exposition for the belts --- there will be NO REMATCH for the losers. Ian Smith is said to be very unhappy with the situation, but NAPW officials demanded a suitable close to this very personal issue.

-In related news, Ian Smith has finally wrangled a "main event" level match for his client "The Show" Chad Kurtis. At "Pure Dynamite" it will be Kurtis taking on the 2008 Canada Cup winner, "The Ego Buster" Dan Ryan! A win over Ryan one week before he challenges Krenshov for the World Title would rocket Kurtis back into major title contention.

-NAPW-online has been unable to reach Matthew Kurtis for comment following his defeat of Joey Malone and embarrassment at the hands of Joey's friends.

-The initial entrants into SOLE SURVIVOR have been announced. There are currently six open spots. Of course all information is subject to change. The only active NAPW wrestlers who will not be in Sole Survivor will be the World Champion and Canada Cup winner!
