The Ego Check :Episode One

Hello ECWA Fans, and welcome to the first edition of the “Ego Check”. Brought to you by the best damn wrestler in this business “Mr. Showtime” Allister Crowley.

I, Allister Crowley, the next ECWA Pristine champion, a title that I will win at DOA will bring you this column every week. Reporting on all the ins and outs of the talent, as well as reporting on any injuries and giving my views on the latest rumors around the 'net.

I'll start with the major outgoings.

We saw a sad day last week at Anarchy when autumn had to vacate the Extreme Diva title. No talent likes top just forfeit a title. I anticipate her getting in the ring again real soon to compete for that title. That being said Oni and Niunia will be exciting. And with Steffi still getting here shot, the diva division is still red hot. My only thought is doesn’t Oni remind you of Nicole Bass? Or is it just me?

Mike Miracle also left the company recently. As always, it was under mysterious circumstances, as it always is with him. He told me that he was going back to wrestle where he can catch a break. Maybe the DWF can give him a shot. I hear they are starting up their ninth era. They are calling it Dead in the Water.

DDL disappeared last week and no one knows why but after the repeated headshots one wonders could we have seen the last of DDL? And the shocking news this time was that it could be for good.. No doubt he will pop up on our screens sometime soon, but for now we can consider him shelved.

Although not technically outgoings... yet, the booking team are talking of a bit of a cull to clear the dead weight on the roster. A lot of talent has been slacking off recently. Some of them don't even bother turning up. Not even a phone call. The bookers are going to release these wrestlers sooner rather than later. This gives us the opportunity to sign more talent, which will hopefully be able to perform a little better.

That’s it for the outgoings. Here are some of the major incomings we've had recently.

BP6 was a great event, and we'll get to that later. But the talent put on one heck of a show.. That Allister Crowley guy is one of the most popular guys backstage. Despite his on screen persona being a little arrogant, Crowley is well respected and brilliantly funny. It's good times on the road when he's around.

Ryan Justice too has made a mini comeback. Although not gone for long, he had other things on in his life and lost his focus. He is back and promises to make more of an impact. I hope he succeeds, as his efforts are second to none.

We have a promising batch of talent here right now. I've been watching them in the gym, and they all want it. We'll see what they are made of and if they have what it takes to push the established stars.

Oni continues to maintain she can go it alone against the longest reigning Tag Champs in history Roman and Vincent. Is it a suicide mission or has she no fear? The ECWA Tag Champs. I watched them in action, and you can see just why they are so good, and so well regarded in the ECWA. The competitions is fierce, but win or lose, they are putting forward their best efforts. The match takes place in the coming weeks.

Zack and Hellpunk are a ... Interesting team. Look fairly solid and would certainly add to the tag division.

Let me offer my thoughts on BP6.

BP6 was certainly a very solid event. Although some long-term storylines had to get rushed and compressed to fit in , I think it got pulled off relatively well and the ratings were one of the best ever for a ECWA PPV.

There were some great showings from some members. The obvious one being Zack. Clearly the breakout star of the night. The young man went home with it all. He has impressed EVERYONE. However, other organizations have pushed youngsters too fast too soon. Although I have no doubt Zack can take it, we need to keep him on a high.

Mike Vincent also performed fantastically. Despite losing his match, he has been really, really sharp in the ring. He is certainly on his way back to the very pinnacle, and I can certainly see him adding a World Title Reign in the next year.

All the other matches were solid, with no real threatening injuries that I can think of.

Other thoughts:

As you may or may not know, the booking team has been completely revamped. We have some additional staff and writers in a bid to streamline production and spread the load. I have been doing this for many years and seen many bookers, but I am already very impressed with their work so far. This could be the best era of the ECWA Yet.

One of the things I love is the Double Jeopardy idea. 3 of the best battling it out to determine who really is the best. It will give my Pristine title prestige and honor, and there can be no disputing that the winner doesn't deserve it. And Anthony I will pin Zack and become a five time Pristine champ. Book it…Dano…..

And finally a hearty congrats to 2 departments in the ECWA. The Web Development team, who have done a cracking job to produce the best Website we have ever had, and the Promotions department for working night and day to get everyone's promotional photographs done.

I'll see you next week

Allister Crowley
