A1 Entertainment Up For Sale?
September 29th, 2007
MINNEAPOLIS, MN (AP) - The world of professional wrestling has seen its fair share of companies swap hands, most notably the WWE purchase of long time rival WCW. The ownership of Message Board Entertainment has often been in a state of turmoil. Empire Pro Wrestling started off its history with a major swerve regarding the ownership of its company.
Is another wrestling federation on the selling block?
Rumor has it that A1 Entertainment, also known as A1E, is the next organization to be sold. Due to the influx of wrestlers from the FW circuit, the successful Tag Team Tournament run in recent months, along with dramatic television and capped off with last night's presentation of their flagship Pay-Per-View offering, Golden Dreams, which is expected to shatter all kinds of PPV records, most industry experts feel that now is the right time for the company to be sold, if an offer is indeed on the table.
The rumors swirling around at this point indicate two options. One, a cable television network is looking at the company in order to beef up it's male programming. It will be interesting to see how this plays out, as A1E and ESPN 8, The Ocho, have a fantastic working relationship. Option two is a single wealthy individual may be looking at acquiring the company without making any changes, as A1E is successful on it's own, and this individual would be looking for the profits.
All that is for sure at this point is that the A1E Board of Directors has received an introductory letter, but company officials did not comment on the situation.
Industry insiders are all over this new development, and there will be updates as things progress.
