UNCUT 14: DACKFED

EVENING PAPERWORK
Words I live my life by; “Here, better to be drunk than let them see you sweat.”

Good segment. Always dig anything built more through dialogue than exposition. Especially given the match this builds, neither competitor (or those referenced) feature in the segment. Just shop talk between two non-wrestlers, who know what they are talking about.

Bronson still looks like a beast. A little afraid for Cayle but that seems like his wheelhouse. Underdogging it. Good natural feeling dialogue that walked the line of being information heavy and conversational. And I just gleaned my new creato from it. Win, win.

DAVINE INTERVENTION
Wrote it.
Noticed though, I should have put more of an emphasis on "Gamble IS an asshole"
Hindsight.

SCRATCHING THE SURFACE
Had some input.

DRUNKBROS
Fun segment with a quick back and forth dialogue. I imagine it being cut like The West Wing or some other Aaron Sorkin or even Amy Sherman Palladino show.

Definitely gets the point across the “good guys” aren’t done yet. Things are clearly in the making.

Lot of fun to see Angus outside of the Wrestleplex and getting screwed with incessantly. And I’m a sucker from screwing with people's names.

NEW ORDERS
More steller Reaper work from Reapy Justin.

DRUNKBROS II: LIVE BRO OR DIE DRUNK
Back to the Bar. “the Superbeast rabbithole” that clearly has to be the title to Jack Hunter's self published ghostwritten autobiography. Someone give Jack - Pete’s number, I hear tell he wrote a book. Also one of the oddest things I’ve read here in DEF but incredibly entertaining!

I've only heard of L. Bruises spoken of in hushed whispers in my time here, so I can't wait to see what is next.

Love the campyness, dun dun squirrel included, of the ending. Screams 80's B rate horror movie. Perfect for October.

OVERALL
Some what short uncut, or maybe it just felt that way since I had already read mine and Jerald's. Entertaining none the less and a fun start to a new arc.

Re: MAXIMUM DEFIANCE ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv 69 IS LIVE! FEED THE BACKS!

EVENING PAPERWORK
This really sells the whole Scottish Civil War story and does it in an extremely subtle way. Paired with the backstory already built between the Murray’s and Box, this style of third party storytelling is super effective. No one ever believes the guy who says he is bad ass, even if he is. It’s only when you hear it from someone else.

DAVINE INTERVENTION

Stuff with Brian. Previewed this.

SCRATCHING THE SURFACE

Stuff with Jerald. Previewed this.

DRUNKBROS
The Good Guys ALWAYS win in the END! And the end may be nigh, but it’s not here yet! Angus takes it almost as well as he dishes it out. NACHOBROS!

Great segment and given what went down at DEFMAX, this is the springboard to the good guys taking the win that is already theirs. Atleast Impulse over Mikey, anyway.

NEW ORDERS
Stuff from me.

DRUNKBROS II
NACHOBROS II! Superbeast is amazing!

Great way to end an UNCUT! Especially after a PPV, light and transitional.
Not to mention, the return of L. Bruises!

OVERALL

The UNCUT did feel light, would have loved to see a segment from Penn, considering he just won the DEF*MAX tournament and is positioned to go for the FIST this upcoming ARC. Where is SEG? A lot of stuff went down at the PPV but it seemed like there was a lack of fall out.

Re: MAXIMUM DEFIANCE ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv 69 IS LIVE! FEED THE BACKS!

Feedback for UNCUT 14.
EVENING PAPERWORK

I’m still playing a little bit of catch up on backstory and who is who but this really gets
across the fact that Bronson Box ain’t the one to play with! Apparently Andy already got
fucked up and Cayle is next! No clue what the deal with Box’s chick bouncing for Penn. That
seems like some snake shit and I’m sure she’ll get hers!

DAVINE INTERVENTION & SCRATCHING THE SURFACE
Wrote with Brian and Justin on these so I assume no need to comment.

DRUNKBROS
Come on man, you gonna interrupt a man enjoying a few beverages after a long night of
talking quality shit.. Then you just gonna but you hands all over my man’s nachos? Lol
Pretty cavalier attitude from the good guys who by and large took a L at DEFMAX. Makes
things interesting though.

NEW ORDERS
Working with Justin so, next!

DRUNKBROS II
No clue why Angus would go sit with the cats when he openly trashes them on TV and more
importantly they just strong armed his nachos! Well, I guess if they are buying, cool.
Both this and the orginal above had some funny spots. I can definitely get into a segment
with some levity. I understood what was being put over in the first but this one I was
honestly lost, unless beyond the fistbump (which I hear is VERY over) I thought maybe this
butt touching game was next on the docket.
Then it happened. So I ask, what the hell is a L. Bruises!?

He was drunk. Also he loves Cally for some reason. And he doesn't really trash Impulse and the Murray boys on TV, he just finds their good guy schtick to be annoying. Plus, they were facing off against Mikey Unlikely, Bronson Box, and Curtis Penn, respectively, at the PPV - and they are at least two of his least favorite people in the universe. Remember, he's not a straight up face or heel, he's shades of gray with consistent opinions.

Also, L. Bruises may or may not be Jack Hunter, and he is the Superbest.

Re: MAXIMUM DEFIANCE ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv 69 IS LIVE! FEED THE BACKS!

Alright, so UNCUT 14.

Evan just kind of threw the Jane/Kelly thing together without warning, which I really dig. Think this was a good way of building on the PPV and furthering a story without the protagonists even needing to appear. It made me even more excited to work the feud, which is nice.

Aside from the Drunkbros, the new guys really took this show over, which I'm into. I thought Douglas' concussion well sold. I felt concussed reading the damn thing, so there you go. Sterling job. Chortles on the "Gamble" is an asshole stuff, and I liked the little tease that there may be some history between Douglas and MDK. Looking forward to seeing where this goes.

MDK segment was weird as fuck but in a good way. In him and Reaper, we've got a couple of guys with some real mystery about them. "Scott's Place." WHAT DOES IT MEAN?! Intrigued.

Coming out of the PPV, Reaper's reaction was probably the one that I was most looking forward to. He took a hard L and followed-up with a snappy segment - good to see another here. In typical Reaper fashion, the segment is vague without being too vague. Pretty much exactly what I expected with the slithers of information. Wonder who the next target is?

Fun little UNCUT all-round.

Re: MAXIMUM DEFIANCE ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv 69 IS LIVE! FEED THE BACKS!

Loving the shorter matches.

New guys (and people coming off a program who need a buffer), don't hesitate to use enhancement guys or BRAZEN guys - just ask a road agent for some details to make the match. Or just beat up Jack Hunter the way Midori did.

This was a really good repositioning show - opens the next chapter of the SoHER belt, deals with the fallout of Cayle getting screwed out of the DEFMAX, Penn winning the thing, and the new FIST - and a highly entertaining main event. I dug the little detail of the fans walking out en masse because fuck the PCP.

Conspicuous by his absence was Asian Daniel Ryan... where does he SUREly go from here?

Re: MAXIMUM DEFIANCE ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv 69 IS LIVE! FEED THE BACKS!

It’s great to have the summarised matches back. This show was 50 pages in PDF format, whereas the last DEFtv was 74.

That chops roughly a third of your reading time, and makes the show a far less daunting prospect as a whole. Furthermore, it takes about 20-30 minutes to write a decent summarised match. Yes, they’ll seem a little powder puff by comparison, but it’s all about preventing burnout from both reading and writing.
The matches on this show were absolutely fine. I think it definitely works best to frame them with a couple of lines of announcer dialogue at the start, and some at the end too. Nothing much: just a quick exchange. This would’ve been particularly nice in the main event as it kinda felt like the show went off the air cold. Also check your formatting on three counts, fellas: it’s all in the guide docs.Anyway, screwing with the formula a little bit here.

I’ll try going feud-by-feud, see if it’s easier to do.

PENN & FISTSAY TROY
Low-key first week, but it fits. Of course Penn’s going to be incredulous at having to wait such a long time for his shot, because he’s Curtis Penn: a piece of shit. I’m kinda glad there wasn’t a big, overblown title celebration too, because those can be hella dumb. It’s a decent segment to get things rolling, though Penn’s dialogue didn’t quite feel as sharp as usual.

MDK/DOUGLAS/REAPER
Fun little squash with MDK running through Jacky H. Him pulling-off Scott Douglas’ move was a nice sly dig: I always love that spot.

I love that Brutal Attack Force were given some screentime on this show. Always enjoy it when people go the extra mile to give our BRAZEN geeks some personality, so nice work. The attack segment was interesting. I’m nowhere near familiar enough with MDK to fully understand his motivations, which is why it works. Some snappy dialogue lines in there and of course that creepy prick Reaper hanging in the background.
Nice seeing a rare TKO finish in the Grendel/Douglas match. Good babyface fodder in Scott’s disappointment at the lack of challenge, too.Literally no idea what’s going on in the second segment. Lights cutting, dudes vanishing, Scott Douglas just standing there like “dafuq?”. Colour me intrigued, gentlemen. Good continuation of the grey themes established on UNCUT.

MICHAEL AND RANDY
Keebs and Angus’ reaction to Cally’s costume was funny. The bum-touching stuff is funny, but I don’t really get it. Am I supposed to get it? Why am I asking questions in feedback? What is love?

Anyway. Impulse’s promo was pretty good. I appreciate that he started off by pointing out that Navarro technically made the right call at the PPV, as displeasing as it may seem. Interesting little wrinkle. I think Impulse has a niche. He’s not a super-fiery “lemme at ‘em” Dusty Rhodes/Sting type babyface: he’s a little calmer, a little more composed. Wouldn’t make much sense for him to come out like “MIKEY UNLIKELY PUT HARD TIMES ON IMPULSE, DADDEH.”

Mikey sports entertained me as usual. The line Impulse used to anger Mikey didn’t really hit for me, though. I get that he was going for Mikey’s pride, but it didn’t feel like the kind of mic drop-worthy line that’d just make a guy flip. Mikey throwing Kendrix at him is a nice compromise, however, and simple, logical storytelling.

SEG STUFF
Was gonna skip feedbacking this segment as it has some stuff that indirectly impacts one of my feuds and I’ve already told Steven I liked it, but I’m getting some subtle SEG-related tension in this one. The PCPs seem to irritate the Bruvs through oblivious stupidity, and they don’t have a clue what the hell’s going on when Mikey and Kendrix get pissy about it. A very well-played interaction.

PERFECTION BEING A DICK
Love the Mark Shields storyline. We’ve got our own Lil’ Naitch running around the place, and it’s something I’ve legitimately never seen done in the hobby before. Perfection is such a manipulative shitbag, and him knowing the result of the Shields investigation before Kelly can “reveal” ‘em really disarms her. The fuckery extended well into the main event, with Reaper just knocking him the eff out to effectively set up the match’s fucky finish. Nice way to end the show.

Re: MAXIMUM DEFIANCE ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv 69 IS LIVE! FEED THE BACKS!

DEFtv 73

RUNDOWN
Good quick opening. Touched on DEFMAX and previewed the card, well. I'm glad to see Midori Sour catching on.

A LONG TIME COMING
Cayle taking the super high road here. Almost the super hero high road. Good interview segment, keeps Cayle from looking weak coming off the loss, albeit a cheating loss. Shows character and maturity from the younger Murray and makes it clear this situation with Box is long from over and has plenty of heat.

MAKE A MATCH, DENY A SHOT

Good start to what will end up at the PPV. Simple enough but draws the heel/face lines in the sand with a bulldozer. Troy gets to acknowledge the title win without having some top of the show - in ring - overdone celebration; which allows Penn to want just that. Again, bulldozer. Plus the huge personality differences give this a little heat which I’m sure will be built upon moving forward.

MIDORIKAWA VS. JACK HUNTER

Helped with this one.

HOLLYWOOD ENDING

I always like Impulse's reactions to things. Very low to no (outside of the bar) nonsense and very zen, or calculated would probably describe it better. Being a strict rule follower this served to his character well; pointing out that the ref did the right thing and accepting that outcome. And rather demanding what he is owed by wrestling "logics", asks what he needs to happen to get that shot. Where are these level headed sensible people in real life? Also I enjoyed the humor in this with the butt touching and costuming and Angustus.

And the flip side to that coin … Mikey does exactly what a heel should. Be delusional as hell! Refuse the shot. Check. Mock the face. Check. Losing his shit plays here but as I read I was hoping he’d remain calm and combat the ‘that’s not wrestling ability’ with the claim of it being strategy, self preservation, move star this and that kinda stuff. Which still would have played well into the having to defeat Kendrix and jump through hoops before getting the shot. With that being said it still works just fine, as is. Good segment.

JUST ONE NIGHT
Good segment, Jimmy being Jimmy. Dickish. Evans in the past has seemed to kowtow to him a little more than in this segment, so I’m glad to she her invoking some authority. I’d have to assume Shield Gate isn’t over with yet.

CAYLE MURRAY VS. DANNY DIGGS
I didn’t see Cayle’s segment as anger at all, as mentioned here in the commentary. I definitely read it as annoyed, angry and upset (as mentioned) with the DEFMAX outcome but I read it as on top of all that... he was rising above and focusing on moving forward. I’ll have to revisit that. I do see the intent though as the match progresses and it makes sense for that to have been the case. But I still like the two together as I originally took it because it makes the build to end of this match very subtle, except it being pointed out at the top. The “Master Thief” and his trickery give Cayle a great opponent following DEFMAX as well, a few moments where the outcomes could have been on par with one another. Cayle seems like he may be on a story thread that will eventually leave him unhinged. The Box situation probably being the final tipping point. But then again what the hell do I know, I misread the opening segment. Format wise this does make me wonder, did I do it wrong?

SCOTTISH CIVIL WAR: REDUX

Ok, I read something right! Adding the extra emphasis on the parallels that could be loosely drawn between the Penn deal and Diggs is a nice touch. This segment had a great feel, going from the ring directly into the back. Nice back and forth with Natas, as highlighted above. Via the title you had to assume Box would show up and when he did… the dialogue in this segment was perfect. Everything from Cayle and Natas were the perfect reactions but Box’s dialogue really builds the tension and makes you wonder whether this will end peacefully or all hell is about to break loose. Either way this match up has an immense amount of heat on it.

BRUTAL ATTACK, FORCE (PART ONE)
SCOTT DOUGLAS VS. SOLOMON GRENDEL
SORA NO SHŌRI

Involved.

FANNY
Great setup segment for these two. Much like Troy and Penn, well and Impulse Mikey, the two personality types could NOT be more different. I like that Perfection leaves feeling like he has gotten the upperhand conversely, but I’d imagine his eventual reckoning won’t have anything to do with words. The mention on the Utah history is a nice touch and just helps flesh out the whole “conversation,” but the real heat seems to be and rightfully so, coming from the two being diametrically opposed. Always wanted to use that somewhere.

DOC: JASON NATAS (C) VS. HARRY ROSE
Not a lot to say here, two big bastards running roughshod on one another. With the division weak this is great idea to keep it a float and have some brutal matches that in turn can also showcase some BRAZEN talent. Love the whole BRAZEN idea, so anything supporting that while also keeping a title alive seems like a good idea.

SHINY
“It’s pretty much just been people wrestling each all night?” Great line amongst mainy. “Isn’t it?!” Always entertaining when the SEG is involved. The tensions showcased in this segment seemed to have been building for quite some time but very low key. This could get very interesting if Impulse can’t get the SoHER away from Mikey and it ends up JFK/Mikey. Oh, can we please get a SEG: Hollywood vs SEG: K-Pack??

THE PATH
Reaper reaping. This is right on par with the rest of Justin’s Reaper stuffs. It addresses things that have past and things that are still to come, and gets super confusing in the middle, all the while telling you nearly nothing! Which I dig, keeps you wondering and you’re forced to try to decipher between his actions pre and post and what he said as well. I like to think of Terry and Reaper as Magnum PI and Higgins. If Magnum PI was a black clad demon eyed crazy person.

PERFECTION & CODENAME: REAPER VS. POP CULTURE PHENOMS
The opening few lines between Angus and DDK confused the shit out of me. I read them three or four times and unless Angus knows something the rest of us don’t and Terry Anderson is a secret animatronics master… I’m lost.

Crazy main event. Didn’t really think this one would ever go to a conclusion honestly. Didn’t think there would be that much action either. The fans fleeing a PCP main event was a nice touch effectively saying they only sit through PCP to see whats next. I think everyone wanted to see Mark Shields get his due and logically Klein would attempt to officiate but much like before I think Carla should have come out sooner and it would have cleaned up that whole spot. Though I do like Mikey ringing the bell, especially if it was simply out of annoyance, never looks up from his phone just here's calls for the bell and nonchalantly reaches over and does it. After the stir up backstage I thought JFK would do something more than what we saw. But end all be all Mark Shields got his comeuppance and Reaper cracked Jimmy a handful of times. So good outcome. I think the summary format does hurt a match of this type a little in that you don’t have the commentators selling as much for you, but the generalized mentions of what they are saying does help.

OVERALL
Good card and seems to be a good start to an arc. A lot of moving parts here and it’ll be fun to see how they all come together.

Re: MAXIMUM DEFIANCE ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv 69 IS LIVE! FEED THE BACKS!

I'm going to keep my feedback pretty much short and hopefully sweet.

Really good start to the new arc. As always, appreciate the rundown at the start of the show regarding DEFMAX. First show since the PPV and I'm a big fan of the summarized matches.

Mikey and Impulse keeps going on, and I mean this in a good way. Sometimes things can go stale but these two are bringing it right now. Same with Box and the Murray's.

Line of the night for me was easily "fanny".

Loving the Codename Reaper stuff. I have no idea what's going on with this guy, but it works. The whole MDK/Scott Douglas thing, absolutely no idea what's happening here but has my attention (I have a short attention span, so this is good).

Seg of the night for me was Penn/Troy/Evans. Penn's such an awesome whiny heel! Good to see Evans putting her foot down between the two. Great to see the DEFMAX winner get a shot at the title. Didn't realise this was a new thing so thumbs up from me.

Good effort peeps!

Re: MAXIMUM DEFIANCE ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv 69 IS LIVE! FEED THE BACKS!

Going to do feed back a little bit different from my normal flow. Shorter yes, and i'm sorry about that because you guys are awesome and deserve much more.

MATCH OF THE NIGHT:

It is lame to pick my own match as match of the night yes, but I thought it was well executed, fun to read and left us all wanting more. The real question is, will there be any fall out from this match? At the end of the night it looked like Reaper vs. The SEG. What will happen next... if anything?

FACE OF THE NIGHT:
Definitely Impulse.

HEEL OF THE NIGHT:
Definitely Unlikely. Between these two that segment Hollywood Ending gave me everything I wanted. I can't wait to see their interactions in this ARC.

SURPRISE OF THE NIGHT:
Honestly my surprise of the night was the set up for Penn and Troy. Not so much their segment, I just was not expecting Penn to by vying for the belt this ARC. Hopefully it will be a pleasure to see. And I think they might have some surprises in store. *fingers crossed*

LINE OF THE NIGHT:
Gotta jump on the Perfection bandwagon:
'See, Mark. All talk, no action. Now, if you’ll excuse me, The Most Honest Referee in DEFIANCE and I have a match to attend.'

Nothing fancy or extremely funny about the line above, but it gives me the opportunity to shill the shit Jay is selling in his writing. I can't wait to see how this angle continues to play out through this ARC and if it continues after. Most Honest Referee my ass.

ACTS OF DEFIANCE OVERALL ARC predictions:

I don't think Penn will win the championship which sucks, because I love the character overall. Lindsay Troy will look extremely strong through the ARC which she should considering the win she is coming off of.

Impulse will win against Unlikely at the pay per view. That's my guess, but it looks to be the perfect situation.

Jason Natas will continue to be a beast.

I think Cayle Murray is going to do something Andy could not, beat Bronson. I am excited to see that ARC. Also extremely excited for Bronson vs. Reaper the card before the PPV.

There is a feeling in me that Perfection is not going to be pinned/submitted in a singles match for a very long time including this entire ARC.

Douglas vs. MDK vs. Reaper is hopefully interesting for you all to read. I will do my best.

Re: MAXIMUM DEFIANCE ARC DISCUSSION THREAD - DEFtv 69 IS LIVE! FEED THE BACKS!

UNCUT 15

ONLY I CALL HIM THAT
Slow build that ratchets up quick! Going into it and based on the title, I thought it would be SEG fall out. With the PCP's K- this and K- thats ... and tension seemingly building between them... AND I fell for the pull out. Granted, I am a bit drunk at the moment.

This turned into a hell of a segment though. The tension was thick and the dialogue was impeccable. I really dig the phonetic spelling Evan has employed for Box and Troy is on point as ever here. The Mobey Dick line especially.

This certainly makes the reader wonder how this is going to effect the overall arc; given that it's clear that Troy and Box have gone at it before and obvs ... Troy sides with the Murrays.

TOUCHING BUTTUS INTERRUPTUS
Fun segment. Good humor. So far since I've been here anything Cally centric has been entertaining. Butt touching is about to be as over as ... whatever is super over in wrestling these days... Jericho? I don't know.

The other three segments I either wrote or they are apart of the arc I'm working in so; hope everyone enjoyed them and took from them ... what we intended.

Re: ACTS OF DEFIANCE Arc Discussion/Feedback Thread: DEFtv 74 is live! FEED THE BACKS

UNCUT 15.

Lindsay Troy and Bronson Box was a flawless segment. Well put together, obviously, but it touched in pretty much everything that’s happened between the duo in the past, everything that’s going on with them at the moment, and what may happen in the future. A little light on Dan Ryan stuff, but if you work that in then you’re looking at a gigronkus segment. I knew what it was going to be about from the moment I read the title, too. That’s a talent.

Dug Terry/Scott’s alternate universe Drunkbros shenanigans. Great way to let a set of characters interact in a way that wouldn’t be possible on DEFtv. Didn’t like “undercard” getting dropped in there, though. Never a huge fan of insider terms making it onto TV, UNCUT or not.

Touchbutt… I don’t get it. It’s not funny to me, and I don’t find it charming either. I don’t buy the explanation that it’s lightening the mood backstage either: it’s just creepy and weird to me.Sorry bruv.

Textbook Reaper seg. INTRIGUE~! Reap’s definitely one of the best guys in the fed when it comes to using UNCUT for development, so props. Enjoyed it as usual, and I now want to see him murderise the SEG.

MDK’s promo was strong too. Outlaw metaphor works well. This made me worried for Scott Douglas’ health and had me thinking MDK is a lunatic: can’t ask for much more than that.

Sorry Im late!!!!!

UNCUT 14 BEEF (2 weeks ago)

Uncut 14
Evening Paperwork.
I’m starting to think DEFIANCE relies far too heavily on the past. I feel like every Uncut is a history lesson, and every segment is telling me things that a) are barely relevant, and b) not much more interesting than the previous week. Lets get some Hot angles going with no history behind them. This seg is well written, but i just feel like i’ve read it before…

Davine Intervention/Scratching the Surface
Nice follow up to DEFMAX. Great way to get the medical staff involved, and the angle rolling. I always enjoy “fallout” segs following a big show, and this is a great example of that. Scott Douglas is upset, a little hurt, and ready to get revenge. Good stuff. Second part was a good quick seg, but not much too it, we will see how this develops moving forward.

DrunkBros: This seg was just to seg. No real point other than a quick recap of MaxDEF and some facey stuff. Again well written, but didn't grab my attention. Didn’t feel the NEED for it.

New Orders: The reaper Perfection angle continues. I like Reaper, the character has come out of his shell a bit from the big dark scary dude he was the first few weeks. He’s talking more, and really finding his voice. This promo was a good example of that.

DrunkBros II. Repeat of my first remarks, + Jack Hunter Cameo. I liked Drunk Bros, but at this point has it run its course? Bored by this.

Re: ACTS OF DEFIANCE Arc Discussion/Feedback Thread: DEFtv 74 is live! FEED THE BACKS

DEFtv73

A Long Time Coming
Textboook Murrrphisto. Great facey seg, I was hoping for an Andy Murray vs Curtis Penn feud but I guess we will have to wait to see what happens with the fist! Now Cayle and bronson!? That’s something I can sink my teeth into. Good stuff, keep it rolling. “Can’t rest on my laurels” Fuck you Murrray, brag a bit, yea!?

Make A Match/Deny A Shot
Great continuity on this one from Penn/Troy bringing up the previous seg and the Cayla speech. Loved this bit, very good reporte, and very good building of the feud. Curtis Penn feels OWED a title match, Lindsay Troy is happy to have the strap and doesnt want to give it up anytime soon. Kelly Evans still playing The BAWS.

Midorikawa vs Jack Hunter
Nice first win by MDK, I like the character and what hes done this far, and between he and Scott Douglas they have come in and set this place on fire. Throw Reaper Justin in that convo too. This was a quick but effective match. The debutant got over, and jack hunter got superbested! Good stuff, did the trick. The match itself was a little short but it did what it was intended to do.

Hollywood Ending
Wrote this with Pete, i hope you enjoyed.

Just one night.
Nice quick segment with Perfection and Courtney Paz. I really liked the way Perfection exits the scene and doesn't come back :p Good stuff, Perfections confidence level is through the roof, it's entertaining.

Cayle Murray vs Danny Diggs.
Nice match here from murrrphisto, Diggs got a lot of offense in, but ultimately comes up just short, This was very believable, Is Cayle Murray in a slump!? A SLUMP WHERE HE WINS!? IDK but i know this was a fun read, I like the DIggs character, Might have to bring him back in at some point to work more jobs.

Scottish Civil War: Redux
I envisioned the Arthur Meme when Cayle Murray clenched both his fists and turns to face BB. Laughed out loud too. This was fantastic, My favorite thing on the show thus far for sure. Great promo back and forth, really felt emotional. All the SJWs would be very pleased with Murrrs skills. Honestly tho, this is going to be a great feud as was AM and BB. Continuation with a twist, I like it.

Brutal Attack, Force (Part 1)
Good set up for the attack, great execution, I enjoyed this thoroughly. Well thought out longer seg. I never lost interest and i wasn’t too confused. Wait are the Brutal attack force on the main roster now!? Not yet… But they wanna fight for it! AND teach Scott Douglas a lesson! WHat do you know, that match is up next! Nice use of multiple characters.

Scott Douglas vs Solomon Grendal
Loved this! Very different! Very Smooth transition from the last seg right into this match! Scott Douglas makes quick work of Grendal but thats because the guy took a HELLACIOUS beating backstage! Interesting to see this one keep developing.

Fanny:
Yusssssss nice heat between Perfection and Andy Murray, Was surprised to see AM make the show after MAX DEF. but that said this was a great way to kick off what should be a great arc, Looking forward to this if Jay is still around. Loving the Mark Shields gimmick too.

Jason natas vs Harry Rose
I thought this was a terrific matchup, the only suggestion or remark I have is that their were too many pin falls. While reading it towards the end it felt like boom boom boom pin, boom boom boom pin, boom boom boom pin, etc. etc. Great feel for the DOC division, brutal blows, Love how you brought up the last title mtch from the PPV and working in some of the same spots. Too many Brazen guys on this show this week. You can tell whos going to win. That said i didnt have a match so what can I say!? Great work Murrr, less pin falls.

Shiny
I was half out of it when this was written, think I may have contributed 15-20 words. Otherwise this was all Ford, Billy, and Stevie. I enjoyed it very much. Love writing with the SEG. Everyone in S.E.G. has titles but JFK! Even Klein has the paper mache titles! Just planting seeds in this one.

The Path
SO MUCH INTRIGUE!!!! Yes I love stuff like this that makes me want moe RIGHT AWAY. like finishing a bad ass chapter of a book right before bed. You put the book down, but your mind keeps racing until your like “FUCK IT!” (Clicks lamp back on, and reads 2 more chapters!) Thats the feeling I got from this. Loving the Reaper character and his contributions lately. Terry! My man!

Perfection/Reaper vs PCP!
LOVED THIS MATCH~! Read like a great main event, loved the crowd leaving,l Loved the beef between perfection and Reaper, Loved the Mikey stuff, (I was privy to him being ringside but none of the shenanigans!) LOVED THIS !!!! I could see Justin going far here, Same with Ford and Billy. Would love to eventually see a singles run from them, but no time soon because SEG is awesome. Great work guys!

Re: ACTS OF DEFIANCE Arc Discussion/Feedback Thread: DEFtv 74 is live! FEED THE BACKS

Uncut 15 Maaaaaaafffffs

Only I Call Him That
Bronson Box and lindsay Troy conversing backstage after DEFtv about their own personal feuds. NINJA STARZ! Good heated seg, both characters had a clear message to get across. This was a very good seg, I enjoyed it.

The Holy Ground
It seems the DEFIANCE roster has a bit of a drinking problem. Between DrunkBros, this seg, and Frappe’s it's pretty serious out here in NOLA. Loving the hate-hate relationship between Scott and Doug, now were learning some of the histoy behind SubPop! Good stuff.

Touching buttes Interuptus.
A seg about sexual abuse in the workplace and butt touching. Nice little facey face piece by pete, doesn't advance anything, just here for character development. Good schtuff.

It isn’t Over
Segment between Reaper and Terry Anderson! Nice continuation of the earlier seg, and plays of of it well. Reaper touches on the mysterious “task” that needs done, he touches on what happened at DEFtv and then addresses the SEG quickly. All around well done. Reaper is finally feeling a bit human, but not in a bad way.

Outlaw
Quick seg by MDK in the direction of Scott Douglas. Love the work these guys are doing since coming into DEF, a self contained angle is a great way to get your foot wet and integrate into the roster. LOoking forward to whats next.

Deafteevee seventyfour

Unknown Sender:
No rundown this week! That is odd! Quick Segment from MDK, he bumps into Terry, but heads for his locker room instead of starting trouble so early in the show, only to find someone left a message for him in the style of an 80’s Batman villain. I love it.

Scott Douglas vs Petey Garrett
Angus:
A past and myriad of masked murders glaring at him constantly!

I popped for this line. Loved the setup and the Brutal Attack Force being extra cautious prematch from last week. Awesome, nice little non match here, Loving the angle of MDK aggravating Scott Douglas by taking care of his opponents for him. Great stuff.

Make DEFIANCE Great Again!
I wrote this with Stevie, Ford, and Billy. Hope you enjoyed.

HOT SKOOPZ
Lynsanity has a mystery opponent tonight, this seg sets up the match that is to come, NOICE! Lance Wanker hasnt been seen in awhile! THE TITLE IS ON THE LINE!

Kendrix vs Impulse.
Very good match, I think this was a little longer than the summary style calls for but it was very close and competitive. Two of my favorite “wrestlers” to read in DEF, this was going to be good. Had no idea ss to the finish, but it did not dissapoint. Good stuff Petey and Stevie! Helps move the angle along, and JFK picks up the win, OBVS!

The Coming Storm
HYPE VIGNETTE! I love Hype vignettes! I used to do them all the time!

Down With That Sort of Thing
FUCK! I got Ron Hall’d! Quick seg to set up next weeks match :)

Jason Natas vs Massive Cowboy
I liked the match, I love reading Murrrs DOC matches, so brutal. This was the perfect length for a summary, I was reading and before i knew it, it was over, not too much at all. Strikefest. The DOC is staying in the spotlight a little more now that it is on Jason Natas, which is terrific, happy to see it done that way after its huge introduction, then it disappeared for a few weeks.

Cooler Heads
Curtis Penn is going nuts, presumably because someone else is getting a title shot nao, and thats what he asked for. I would be pretty pissed too. Nice way to set the emotion for penn throughout this. I feel like this has potential to be a great feud.

The Wall:
I wrote this with Stevie, Ford, and Billy. Hope you enjoyed. Just some 4th wall Trump fun.

Curtis Penn vs Andy Murray
Haha, Angus correcting himself. Enjoyed Penns tactics in this match he was very strike and dodge, like a boxer. Not only mentioning the issues with the referee but actually reemphasising a number of times in the match “Andy Murray glances sideways at him while getting to his feet” brilliant. Makes me feel constantly cautious instead of just a bit weary. ANNNNNNND SHADY FUCKING FINISH! Brilliant, loved this! Match of the night so far.

This is a Test
Nice segment for the Cayle Murray and Boxer feud. I loved the “black and white, security footage” a different way to see something rather than just another regular seg. Little bits of creativity go a long way in a hobby where we read a lot of repetitive shit. I dont know about anyone else, but I heard Tests Theme song, throughout this segment as I read it.

Codename:Reaper vs MDK
More intrigue, more mystery, more fun! Loving this bit, keep it going fellas. I said this before to Justin but maybe the MDK character just needs a TAD more detail. Whats he wearing? Whats he look like? What kinda reaction does he have? OK that last part you did a little bit. Im enjoying it very much, just a tad more detail might help me picture it easier. Great match, better ending, and very good commentary afterwords, you set the match up, had a hell of a fight, brought the angle into it at the end, and explained what happened and whats probably to come. TEXTBOOK!

So Many Skoopz!
HAHAHAHAHAHAH yes FIAAAAAAAAA. Good stuff here from MURRRRPHISTO SR. The elder Murray is looking for the man who cost him his match and surprise, they have all left. Enjoying this angle.

Don’t You Hate When That Happens!?
Best SEG ive read in some time! Better than my shit! Better than most peoples shit! This was awesome, the verbial reparte that took place here was epic. Every burn was worse than the last, every line cut a little deeper. Brilliant! LETS MAKE THIS A THING OK!? Natas vs JFK for the DOC should be AMAZING. I cant wait to watch two of my best buds go at it! This is the stuff I read for. I laughed so hard, I marked out, and I gave an “OOOOOOHHHHH SHIT!!!” Then I laughed again at the end and I heard about Oreo FrappichinO’clock. HAHAHAHAHAHAH

Cayle Murray vs Lindsay Troy
Cayle Murray is the mystery star, I wouldn't say it's a huge surprise. I mean on one hand I didnt expect them to face one another, on the other hand it had to be someone that makes sense, or deserves a title shot. Although not “shocking” it certainly works very well. Very competitive and evenly faught match, Curtis Penn comes out and lets people know that he doesnt think MUrray deserves the match, so he goes ahead and ends it for him! Loving this feud so far, No offense to anyone involved but has HUGE potential to top the last FIST feud.

Great show! Loved it! ANDDDDD Im all caught up!

Re: ACTS OF DEFIANCE Arc Discussion/Feedback Thread: DEFtv 74 is live! FEED THE BACKS

Caveat of the Night:
I will, again, have to beg for some lee-way here as I am admittedly still putting all the pieces together. You guys ’n gals may not fully recognize or appreciate all the nuances and little things you’ve built here. I’m waiting for a nickname/reference glossary to be included in the DEFdoc list! (Not really. I’m a masochist and dig the pain of figuring it out myself, yo.)

Moment of the Night:
Cally gooses Angus. Tangent; Angus is one of those characters who I am most eager to naturally understand. May sound silly. I’ve read the forum post on him - but feel like that confused me more than clarified in a way. I’m enjoying the journey.

Line(s) of the Night:
Kendrix:
Woah, woah, hold up for a second there champ. JFK’s not here for a fight. JFK has a proposition for you…
Natas loosens-up, but only a little.
Jason Natas:
30 seconds. Then, I start taking teeth for my time.

Segment of the Night:
This Is A Test. Man. Bronson is maybe the scariest monster I have ever seen in FW. Scratch that. LIKELY the. Executed any differently, this segment might have suffered from the psychological similarity of the opening MDK-mindgames-segment. But, shit… so, so good.

Match of the Night:
Impulse/Kendrix. Well written battle that ended incredibly abruptly in a way I certainly didn’t expect. Oh, Mikey. You scamp.

Face of the Night:
Impulse. Dude continues to be robbed. So the guy you HAVE to root for. Was nice to see the office acknowledge the skull-fuckery that has transpired. So well done.

Let me say this with minimal ball-swabbing intended, but completely unavoidable:

I’ve always been a fan of Pete’s stuff. I’ve always been an Eli Flair guy. But, man, Impulse is clicking up.

Heel of the Night:
Curtis Penn. That match intro, my lads. That screw job, my lasses. Cold. Ice cold. That run-in. STONE. COLD.

Surprise of the Night:
Cayle vs Troy - not sure what I expected, and maybe I am naive, but I expected a heel opponent. Maybe one of the SEG? Pleasant surprise of the night. I love a good face/face match and this was a great one. Until…

fun times!
