The show has been posted, and you may read it by clicking on this link.

PLEASE leave feedback.

No segment made it in for this show, which is disappointing. But, hopefully the action in the matches made up for it.

Again, let me know what you think.

Enjoy.

- Dave, EPW Owner

EDIT: Three segments added in.

The circle is now complete. When last we met, I was but the learner. NOW.. I am...

Oh.

Tangent. Sorry.

Match of the Night
Well, I’m sure the First and Sean Stevens are tired of taking home this award for what seems like the hundredth time since they started going at it... but I, for one, am not in the slightest bit tired of this feud. This match, with the First finally scoring a win over Stevens, only opens the doors for new possibilities. I’m glad it went to somebody else, because I could honestly not do the justice this match was given. Great, great main event.

Face of the Night
Enough First love for a minute... I’m giving this one to Anarky. The character’s made a very pronounced transformation lately, and he held his ground over the Heirs of Wrestling. This is kind of relieving to see, as EPW seems more and more like a haven for trash-talking bad guys. We need more bright and shining glimmers of hope in the federation, and ones that don’t automatically fit the archetype of underdog or boyscout.

Heel of the Night
I think attacking four people on separate occasion – two of them being ALLIES – really constitutes Stalker as the honorary Asshole of the Evening. It’s going to be really interesting to discover his motives behind the attacks. Was it just a jealous response to his own defeat, or is there an actual agenda behind it all? He’s got a mind nobody can truly grasp, and that’s what makes him scary.

Line of the Night
“Don’t say Hornet. There are legalities involved.” – Mike Neely

Segment of the Night
The bit between Copycat and Omega was the only segmentage we had, but it was still pretty good. Moved the story along rather nicely, and both characters kept to their regular form. Copycat only appearing through letters seemed rather fitting. It was good to see these two characters still involved with the show, even if they weren’t involved in their matches.

Surprise of the Night
For me, personally, it was seeing Stalker betray his friend and ally in the Dopesmoker by attacking him after his victory. Didn’t see that one coming. Another big surprise was the First’s title win. I had a feeling that if the First would walk away with any kind of win over Stevens, it would be by the skin of his teeth, and only by escaping the cage. See the title change hands on live TV though... that was something totally unexpected.

Moment of the Night
I don’t really think you can argue anything other than the First’s title win. It reminded me of when guys like JA and Rocko got their own wins – that “SOMEBODY FINALLY BEAT SEAN STEVENS” moment of glory and greatness, where the clouds part and light shines down from the heavens, and all is well in the world of professional wrestling... until the next show, when Stevens starts superkicking *****es left and right like he gets paid per chin.

Final Thoughts
This was a truly great overall show... but I felt like two elements were noticeably missing without explanation – Lindsay Troy and Cameron Cruise. Hopefully we can get an update on these two by the next show. Meanwhile, how about this tournament? Three high-flyers, and a skull-faced badass. Can’t wait until the next show. MATCH OF THE NIGHT

First/Stevens, I loved that First showed doubt...I really enjoyed him thinking about the escape and then refusing it and being almost resigned to his fate of having to keep fighting this unbeatable opponent. Being conflicted about wanting a win over Stevens and the belt was a moment that was very honest to the character. The whole match told a story and I thought it was very well done. I'd rate Anarky/HoW second, I liked it, but it was kinda hurt by Stalker directly affecting the outcomee.

WRESTLER OF THE NIGHT

I'll go PRIME Style and do a top 3

3. Michael Bastard

Big win, rebounded from his loss to Winters to get a title shot, wins over Shawn Hart are few and far between.

2. Anarky

A win in a highly competitive match with the HoW, Anarky was close to the limelight before but was derailed by Westscott/Miles/Ice Tre...KotC may finally be his coming out party...I just kinda hope(HOPE?) it doesn't come at the expense of.

1. The First

He won the EPW World Title, so I can't think I'm to bias giving it to my guy.

OMNIPRESENT FORCE OF EVIL OF THE NIGHT

Stalker, just totally disrupted the whole company. It's funny in a way since he mostly attacked winners who are stuck in KotC and can't really get at him, but he does have Stevens who's free to seek his pound of flesh, it'll be interesting what comes of that.

SURPRISE OF THE NIGHT

Black stealing a win over Winters. For all the First/Stevens matches, Black/Winters had met twice and this time Black finally got his win. I did enjoy that the Zanegate finally was a plot device in a match. Then bonus shock when Stalker killed his fellow Fallen mate.

WHAT STRAW SAID

I thought we'd have a Dangle Brothers reunion or something after the stuff Cruise posts in the Stevens/First Rp thread, so for Cruise to go MIA was weird, and the lack of Lindsay Troy was odd too, since she came back for the epic King Vs Queen battle, and now it seems like Stevens has issues with Stalker, and likely want his belt back from First also.

FINAL THOUGHTS

EPW to me was always a big league, it felt big, I couldn't just walk in and main event, spending a year holding the tag belts with Felix Red was something I needed to develop The First and also it gave me a place and standing in this company where the Lindsay Troys, Joey Meltons, Triple X's, JA's and Rocko Daymon's were dominating. Even when First finally got a crack at the title and lost at Aggression 42, it took till Aggression 50 for the re-match, and I'm not saying this in a "This is BS! I want my belt!" way, I'm saying this as in 'this league just had so much stuff going on, you have to wade through it and come out the other side' way...That long delay is why HOPE was formed, and I got to write all those segments with folks. (The segment to end Agg 50 is one of my favorite pieces of writing I've ever been a part of in E-Fedding.)

Not even since Doc Silver won his first AAWC World Title (Which was won via awfulness, as Kevin Schmid had been handed the company right after he finally won the belt off Tom Adler and couldn't keep the belt on his own guy, lest he be thought of as corrupt, so Battleship had to job the belt to Doc.) have I worked so hard to win a title in a league, for everyone who's dealt with me, I'm sorry I put you all through so much crap. All I really can say is thanks to everyone.

I'm gonna go, on the write-up side, for the opening tag team match. Wasn't a hotly RPd for match but really told the story of the newcomers to EPW against the old-guard champions and I loved the psychology. The main event was great too, but I enjoyed the opener more.

Face of the Night
First.

Heel of the Night
Stalker.

Line of the Night
I agree with Nick... I mean, Ryan. "Don't say Hornet, there are legalities involved."

Surprise of the Night
For me it was Anarky getting shoved off the top of the cage. I didn't think we'd see the same type of mega spot on two successive shows, but this was very well done. And very much safer than High Flyer going straight to the floor. I still cringe over that one...

Moment of the Night/Segment of the Night
I'm going to go with the segment where the senior referee actually got character development. For me that was a "woah!" moment as it's really rare to see and added a very nice dramatic touch to the show

Guys & gal,

I'm in the process of moving, so I won't have internet access until Saturday, but I just wanted to say congratulations to Stanton on the win. Good job, and I'm happy that you got to accomplish your goal. Enjoy it, this is your moment.

Holzerman, lol... after reading your statement, I kinda felt bad. ;) Needless to say, I never really fed into the hype & believe wholeheartedly that ANY of the last few challengers for the EPW World could've been given the nod. But, thanks for making me feel kinda, well, awesome.

As for the card, I didn't get a chance to read it yet but I will on the subway ride home so that I can give more feedback.

Match of the Night: Honestly, this is a tough pick. Stevens/First IV was understandably awesome. Well-written and really pulled the drama forward without going over the top. But I also really enjoyed the opening tag match, which was very well-written, and Winters/Black, which had, perhaps, the most well-written backstory and history built into the match that really helped push it forward. It's hard to pick one. I'd have to say First/Stevens just for the history of it, but honestly, there wasn't a bad match on the card.

Wrestler of the Night: I'd say it's a tie between First and Erik Black. Obviously First winning the Title was huge, but he's been in the Main Event and been so maddeningly close that I don't know that it's so shocking. Seeing Black get this far into the KOTC, though, has been awesome, and it's great to see someone who has really kinda coasted along start to push themselves and move forward. I really look forward to First/Black. First gets the nod, but just barely. Michael Bastard also deserves a nod here for annihilating Shawn Hart and building some solid momentum moving forward.

Face of the Night: The First finally pulls it off. What can ya say?

Heel of the Night: Tie between Stalker and Copycat. Two different ways to influence the outcome of events. I enjoyed Stalker just running all over the place and causing all kinds of havoc. But i also enjoyed the subtlety and character development we've seen from Copycat lately. I can't pick just one.

Line of the Night: "Quicker than a hiccup? Damn you’re old." -- exactly what I was thinking

Segment of the Night: I really enjoyed the Copycat/Omega/Ref stuff.

Surprise of the Night: First wins! First wins! First wins! Also, Erik Black.

Added Thoughts: Just when you think you have a grip on Brunk's booking, he starts throwing curveballs that lock you up at the knees and next thing you know you're back in the dugout. This show had all kinds of swerves on it and I don't think anybody can say, for sure, what's going to happen next. Where does Stevens go from here? Can First hold on through the rest of the KOTC? What is Copycat's next move? Does Stalker even have a plan or is he just utterly insane? Can Shawn Hart stave off Michael Bastard? A ton of good stuff all around, and I think almost everyone contributed to this one.

Well done to everybody and can't wait for the next show.

You want your payment in check, money order or attache case with small, unmarked bills?

In all seriousness, you have what, like three losses all told in your tenure? You deserve the respect.

Anarky vs. Heir of Wrestling. Very solid commentary throughout, good action and psychology, and a fantastic finish. I also like that the "Mick Foley gets thrown off the cage" spot has only been used this one time, as opposed to every match. It retains it's effect when used only once. :) I wrote the main event, so I'll avoid sucking my own dick as much as possible. However, I will say that I'm proud of it and the finish (which was Brunk's idea) was very innovative. Justin, I hope my commentary did Stalker justice.

Face of the Night
I would say The First is "wrestler of the night" but as for who got the most face heat and/or sympathy, probably Anarky. He's been heel for so long, and his run through this tournament has had a physical story to it that would definitely win the fans over. In the main event, I wanted to get across the point that The First is desperate, chasing the belt like it's the One Ring. He kind of straddled the line between sympathetic challenger and greedy fly. Thankfully Stalker and Stevens both did a bunch of heel sh*t that allowed First to retain sympathy, but without a doubt Anarky earned more sympathy and respect tonight.

Heel of the Night
Being that he attacked everybody under the sun and cost Stevens the belt...Stalker. By far, Stalker has the most heat in EPW.

Line of the Night
"Jones: I have no idea! He's taking summer classes at college, so he isn't living at home with his mother and me."

It's the little things like this that make me laugh. I dunno, Siegel was bragging about the 'A' he got in class, so this reminded me of him.

Segment of the Night
The final segment, where Pat Jones' son was being carried off. Both Omega/Copycat segments were good. I'm a stickler for teleplay format on shows, so I wasn't a huge fan of the Omega narrative. I also think Copycat could be a little less longwinded and get to the point quicker; his dialogue can be hard to follow at times.

Surprise of the Night
Losing. :) Nah, I had a feeling Black was going to beat Winters- Straw worked hard and deserved the win. What did surprise me, in a good way, was how he won, i.e. Winters clotheslining him out of the broken cage door. If I had to lose, this was the best way for it to go down. Winters is already a bitter man, losing makes it worse, and losing in this fashion is going to drive him nuts. I live to torture my characters, haha.

Moment of the Night
The First winning the EPW World Heavyweight Title. Well deserved, a long time coming. Congrats man.

Final Thoughts
Solid show. Everything had a purpose, and it sets up a lot of storyline drama going forward. If we stay at this pace, the PPV is going to have some of the best buildup of any major show in a long time.
