<i>(We fade in on a scene presumably filmed at Unleashed with – judging by the jittery image – a handheld camera. Indistinct shouting can be heard, none of it audible enough to pull out. At first, it is difficult to see what the camera shows, thanks to a consistent bustle of people in the shot and the unreliable nature of the camera. But as the camera steadies, it quickly becomes clear that what we are seeing is Sean Stevens being stretchered through the arena backstage en route to an ambulance, EMTs surrounding the stretcher. The camera begins to move in closer and closer to the stretcher until one of the EMTs turns and looks directly at it)</i>

<b>EMT:</b> Get the hell out of here! You’ve done enough!

<i>(The holder of the camera backs off wordlessly, allowing the EMTs to continue down the hallway)</i>

<i>(The image quickly cuts to one of Aaron Jones staring directly into the camera. The room in which he sits is darkened, but the silhouettes of lockers in the background and a partly visible poster on a wall indicate that we are probably still backstage at Unleashed. After taking a second to rub his jaw, presumably still smarting from the X-Factor he took, Jones addresses the camera)</i>

<b>Aaron Jones:</b> Sean Stevens was promised that if he refused to see the folly of his ways, he would be made to suffer. Sean Stevens was promised that if he continued to harm this business with his self-absorption, he would be broken.

It was a promise He kept. He fulfilled His bargain with Sean Stevens to the letter.

Whether Sean Stevens willingly took on the mantle of EPW’s white knight or whether it was thrust upon him, there can be no argument that at the end of the battle, the white knight fell before his greater foe. He took Sean Stevens and broke him, just as He promised He would – psychologically, emotionally, physically. After all the atrocities Stevens has come back from, he will not be back from this one. He has made Sean Stevens an example – a preview of the fate that awaits any who stubbornly refuse to acknowledge the harm they are doing.

That He could defeat Sean Stevens was never in doubt. It was a feat that few have managed to accomplish in EPW – the man who defeated him for the EPW World Heavyweight Title, for instance, needed four tries to pull it off – but whether He could overcome Stevens in the ring was never a concern.

His victory was about more than just a pinfall, though. His victory was a statement that the status quo in EPW must not stand, and that those who would seek to maintain that status quo will fall before Him, one by one.

Dan Ryan hand-selected Sean Stevens as EPW’s best defense against Him. The man who runs EPW, who has staked his livelihood on fending off His attempts to drag it back from the brink of the abyss, chose the only man he thought could stand up to His righteous cleansing. He convinced Sean Stevens that Stevens, and only Stevens, could prevent Him from breaking EPW down and building it back up, as needed.

And He crushed Dan Ryan’s champion.

Who will stand up for the status quo now? Who will voluntarily put himself between Him and the salvation of this business? Who will be willing to submit himself to the same destruction that has befallen Sean Stevens?

EPW’s new World Heavyweight Champion? EPW’s most recent World Heavyweight Champion? One of EPW’s other stalwart defenders?

As long as EPW’s competitors – and management – continue to demonstrate their willingness to destroy the future of this business for their own selfish ends, He will continue to destroy them, as He destroyed the best of them.

If the rumors are to be believed, Dan Ryan’s next pathetic attempt to maintain his relevance will be to rehash the King of the Cage tournament in a tag team format. And there can be no doubt he will find a way to involve Him – presumably in as disadvantageous a manner as possible.

It won’t work.

Whoever His opponents should be, they had best come to that ring prepared.

Prepared to be utterly destroyed.

Or prepared to see what He sees.

Both paths will be difficult. But only one leads to salvation.

The end of the other path?

You’ve just witnessed it.

<i>(Jones continues to stare directly into the camera. His eyes flick upward for just a fraction of a second, after which a hand comes down over the camera and we quickly cut to black)</i>

(FADEIN to an almost entirely empty bar, where Anarky sits, drinking a Hooker Ale, watching old clips of Copycat and himself fighting in WWL, and then later in WFW and again in EPW. The clips show them getting the best of each other on several occasions. He sighs and turns off the TV.)

ANARKY: “Y’know, it’s funny… if you’d told me a year ago that Copycat and I would, once again, be arguing about the future of EPW, and whether it should be burned to the ground and rebuilt in the vision of in an insane madman.. I’d have shrugged.

“If you told me that madman was Copycat and it would be me protecting Empire Pro Wrestling, well… I’d have wanted some of whatever it is you’re smokin’.”

(He chuckles and lights up a cigarette, using an empty bottle near him as an ashtray.)

ANARKY: “I know the feeling well. Surrounded by selfish, egomaniacal brats… there is a desire to tear it all down. A desire to annihilate all those around you. That hate… it can suffocate you if you let it. I know. Believe me, I know.

“But Copycat… I assure you… the new God is the same as the Old God… you are no better a leader than I am… we are all f*cked…

“Today’s tyrant was yesterday’s righteous revolutionary. Every oppressor started out as a rebel.

“I see now… that we cannot change the system itself. Because it is… alive. It lives and breathes, through us. Through our decisions… through our consequences.

“It took me a long time to accept that.

“Today, Copycat… as you destroy those you see as righteous enemies… as you rage holy war against EPW… I know you won’t be talked out of it. Know you can’t be talked out of it. You’ve taken disciplies. Hell, you don’t even speak for yourself anymore.

“But I didn’t come all this way to lie down to you, or your vision, or anybody else’s vision of EPW.

“At Aggression, we’ll be on the same team. But I know I can’t trust you. I fully expect to be betrayed by you. I know better than to try to control you.

“But if EPW is our home… if I am its standard bearer.. .than I can no longer sit idly by and allow you to pretend to be above it, something more than it…

“For now, though.. you are just a teammate.

“And on the other side, we have another vision… Stalker and Steven Shane. One, a twisted psychopath hellbent on personally deciding who moves on and who doesn’t.. a man who believes he has a hand in every decision, every champion, every pinfall… it is his birthright, after all.

“Such is the name… Stalker.

“You meddled in my business, Stalker. And through sheer luck and bizarre coincidence, you managed to fail to cost me the EPW Heavyweight Title. For that… for your own incompetence… I suppose, in a way, I owe you.

“But the truth is… you buried that steel chair in my back. You left me half for dead in that ring. And if things had gone differently, I’d be right back down where I began… because of you. Because you can’t stand to not be the center of attention. Because you HAVE to make yourself relevant by interjecting yourself in things you shouldn’t.

“At Aggression… you will know that actions have consequences. That I am not a man who forgives or forgets easily. And I do not hide from my enemies. I am an easy man to find, and a hard man to silence.

“Congratulations, Stalker.. you wanted to be relevant.. so relevant you shall be.

“Just like your partner, Steven Shane… a man I know suspiciously little about. Which, of course, concerns me, as always. An unknown opponent can’t be scouted…

“I know you’ve been around awhile, Steven, so let’s not even pretend like you just fell off the turnip truck. But if you think you’re going to walk into that ring and stop me and Copycat, I fear you have another thing coming…

“I didn’t come to EPW to single handedly win every title… I didn’t come for its salvation.. I didn’t even come to prove something to myself in the face of adversity…

“I am but a man… an aging man who knows that his time is limited… that his chances won’t last forever.

“But today… today I come to you as a man who knows that tomorrow isn’t promised… that everything I’ve done can be undone in one second… that I can lose it all… if I make just… one… mistake.

“So at Aggression, you will not find a Proud Champion. You will not find a Confident Superstar.

“You will find a man who will claw desperately to keep his legacy intact… who will do anything… to build this Empire… into something greater…

“… this legacy is not yet fully written.”

<i>(We fade in on a shot of a darkened, largely nondescript room. In the dim light, we can see edges and silhouettes of various pieces of furniture in the room, but the only thing illuminated enough to stand out is a large whiteboard. From its diagonal positioning in the room, we can probably infer that it is one of the mobile, rolling types. Aaron Jones stands center stage, looking directly into the camera)</i>

<b>Aaron Jones:</b> You can be sure, Anarky, that the new contrast between you and Him is not lost on Him.

He, too, is inclined to marvel at the fact that you have discovered newfound reason and pragmatism, while He has taken to crushing His opponents as the only way to accomplish His goals. The circumstances could not be more different from the way they were just a few years ago, when pragmatism was one of His greatest skills and violence was one of yours.

But the two of you have not done a complete switch, and He knows you are just as aware of this as He is. For all the changes you have undergone, He knows you are unlikely to ever think the way He did things was the right way – just as He is not doing things precisely as you used to do them. The casual observer might note that He has adopted some methods revered by the Anarky of, say, 2005. But those who bother to look beyond the surface will see the differences.

To illustrate this point, one need only look at your certainty that He will betray you at Aggression 56.

A casual observer might make that assumption. And He would understand that person’s line of thinking. But that leap of logic does a disservice to the importance of His mission.

I won’t try to convince you that you should not be worried about betrayal. There are good, solid reasons for you to be cautious – related both to your well-documented history with Him and to the decisions you have made as a member of the EPW roster. But every step He has taken, every goal He has set, every bit of pain He has wrought upon those who staunchly continue their gradual poisoning of this business has been for a purpose. The question you should be asking is not whether He will betray you – but why He might choose to do so.

Rest assured, if He perceives you to be a threat to the future of this business, and if you refuse to see His vision of a future where this business can once again thrive, your time will come. But an out-of-hand betrayal of you would accomplish nothing. A betrayal would need to further His goals. And an attempt to pad His score in the game of one-upsmanship the two of you have built over the last decade would not further those goals. It would be an act of selfishness. He would be assigning a higher priority to His career than to His efforts to drag this business from the black maw that threatens to consume it. And have no doubt about this, Anarky: He will not stray.

He is not interested in chaos. He is not interested in hate. He is only interested in preserving the future of this business, protecting it from those who would destroy it for their own personal gain. He has no interest in ruling over it, and He has made it clear that He wants it to be able to survive on its own. He is more than willing to raze what is left of this business to the ground and rebuild it in His own incorruptible image – but that is the last resort. He truly hopes it does not come to that.

At Aggression 56, He has more to care about than just you, Anarky. He has to care about Steven Shane, a man new to EPW but with an established track record of in-ring success. He has to care about Stalker, a man obsessed with his own relevance and his failed attempts to attain it. And He has to care about the continued efforts of EPW and its owner to bring an end to His crusade, to stop Him before He can render them as irrelevant as they deserve to be. And it may be the case that He is better off focusing his attentions on those others, rather than upon you, who, at least in some small way, can benefit from His survival. For now.

So know that He has concerns beyond you going into Aggression 56. Know that He may benefit more, at least for the time being, from your survival than from your destruction. Know that His betrayal, while possible, is not guaranteed.

But also know this.

If your goals are exactly as you state them – to preserve your legacy, above all else – then you lack the crucial vision He has. And if you continue to pursue only your own continued relevance, without any concern for those who will come after you in this business, then you will eventually be His target.

And He will not be inclined toward forgiveness forever.

<i>(Jones continues to stare straight into the camera. Off-camera to his right, the whiteboard is wheeled aside. As it rolls, Copycat can briefly be glimpsed standing in an area the whiteboard once concealed. A second later, we cut to black)</i>

GOD DAMMMMNITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Crash!)

That f*cking piece of trash, couldn't even pull off a victory with all that help he received. He should be put down like a god damn rabid dog. He is WORTHLESS to me now. You hear? WORTHLESS!!!

(We fade in, to Stalker trashing what looks to be an EPW backstage locker room. There is no one else in the room, so it's hard to understand who exactly he is speaking to.)

Stalker: And to top all of this garbage off, I get put into another King of the Cage tournament, it's like i'm being baited into causing the same chaos that I did during the last tournament. Only this time it's tag teams... ohhhhhh! As if I should be afraid of destroying two men in that ring instead of one. What the -f*ck- ever.

(He pauses a moment to take a breath, he runs his hand through his long messy looking hair that is starting to show lots of signs of grey hair.)

Stalker: You know Anarky, you are right I did interject myself into just about everything I wished, didn't I? But you were wrong on your other assumption of claiming I do not belong. Don't know what horse you think you are riding on but, -b*tch-, mine is bigger. I hate having to repeat myself, but it's clear to me that to get the point across sometimes you just gotta pretend that you are talking to a bunch of god damn brick walls.

I

DECIDE

WHO

IS

CHAMPION!

(Picking up a folded up chair and slinging it across the locker room, Stalker's eyes flare up with anger as he stares into the camera again.)

Stalker: HOWEVER! That piece of TRASH First could not even hold up his end of the bargain! YES I did say his end. What none of you realize and what I know is that this little terd bag has been having me do his dirty work for quite a long time.

Ohhh I dunno if it was after the sixth or seventh time he lost to Trip, but finally he came to his senses and realized he needed help. He needed MY HELP and you know? I felt sorry for the kid. And to be honest, as much as I liked Trip, he honestly didn't float my god damn boat anymore. So I decided it was time to make a change, and that's what I did. I made the change and boy he was happy.

Then came Erik Black, which YET AGAIN, I had to take care of him. You see the pattern here Anarky? Do you see the incompetence I had to deal with? Oh and this time, he was even MORE afraid. He needed me to knock you out cold, WHICH I DID. But he still couldn't manage to finish the job. I couldn't believe my eyes when he refused to get his -b*tch- ass shoulder up on the three count.

(Stalker lets out another gut wrenching scream of anger.)

Stalker: So here we are now. Look at this too, very first round I get paired with some no named jackass to face NOT only you Anarky, but Copycat as well. It's like the booking gods are trying to kick me when i'm down. I have a plan though, can't say it's a great one, can't say it'll work but I have one. Also relying on the fact that you two can't trust each other more then I could trust Rocko Daymon has me laughing on the inside a bit as well. It's quite cute to be honest. So come Aggression, when we all gather in the cage for the party, just remember one thing and one thing only.

YOU don't deserve that belt.......

And I AM GOING to do something about it.

Enjoy the suspense.

(Fade to black as Stalker exits the locker room.)

(FADEIN to a park bench in Bushnell Park, in Hartford, Connecticut. Anarky is sitting there, smoking a cigarette, watching a homeless man collect cans in a shopping cart. He tries to ask a passerby for money but the man ignores him completely.)

ANARKY: “Forgiveness is a funny thing, isn’t it? It can be given and taken without cost, and yet, for so many… it is so out of grasp… as elusive as the titles they seek…

“Forgiveness, Aaron Jones, is something I never asked for, nor required, from your messiah…

“Unfortunately, you, like your Master, are so caught up in the trees that you cannot see the forest… you get so caught up on the words I say… for a man who rambles incoherently, you have no vision..

“When I speak of legacy, I’m not just talking about MY legacy. I’m talking about Empire Pro’s legacy. I’m talking about the legacy of King of the Cage, and the legacy of the EPW World Heavyweight Title. These things… these things are intertwined.

“But so far into the mouth of madness you have found yourself… I know you can’t be reasoned with… I know there is no argument to be made here. My mere existence is enough to punish me, is it not? My continued taking of breath…

“Time… time is going to tell, isn’t it. Sooner or later, Aaron… I know Copycat is going to come knockin’ on my door. I don’t know if it’ll be tomorrow or next week. I dunno.

“But I know that I can’t go into this match expecting to be perfect partners with a man who has done so much to destroy me… and is so apparently consumed with the annihilation and resurrection of this league I call home…

“… no, you can’t trust a man like that, Aaron. Maybe you can. But I can’t.

“On the other hand is Stalker. A known quantity, so to speak. At least his madness makes sense to me.

“He needs this… he needs to fill potent… to feel alive. He needs his fingers wrapped around the prize. To know he wields influence and power. The longing destroys him…

“First may have let you play games, Stalker… but I am not First. I don’t play well with others. I do not enjoy being made a pawn in the games of others. I am my own man. And I don’t need you, and I don’t need you sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong.

“You might not think I deserve this belt, Stalker… but let’s face it.. it doesn’t f*cking matter what you think… this is your last warning. You come into Aggression and you fight like a man for once in your cowardly life… or else I’ll spend the rest of yours reminding you why YOU don’t deserve to call the shots around here…

“So much talk these days about what people deserve… about what EPW deserves… about intentions and legacies…

“At Aggression… I, too, will talk into the mouth of madness. But I will walk out again. Because that’s what I do. That is part of my legacy… part of EPW’s legacy.

“Survival. Instinct. Tenacity.

“I may be unworthy of this title… I may spend the rest of my career just trying to prove I belong to be on top of this mountain.

“But at least I know it… at least I know I’m a man.

“And in that sense… in that one, tiny, seemingly insignificant way…

“… I, too, have evolved.”

We fade into a black man carrying a microphone in what appears to be the EPW locker room area. As the man continues to wander around the hallways, he turns a corner and runs into none other than the man that has returned to EPW to bring forth the salvation that others can’t help but yap on and on about (clearly), but have yet to do anything. This man is of course The Sensational One, Steven Shane.

Interviewer: Steven Shane! Just the man that I’ve been looking for! Word around the EPW Universe is that your entry into the Lethal Lottery was nothing more than a publicity stunt by Dan Ryan to bring some credit to his tag team tournament! I assume your presence here right now proves that statement to be false!

Shane: What would that make you think, Jamal?

Interviewer: Actually, it’s James.

Shane: What are we really worried about here? Steven Shane’s return to EPW or your name?

James: You’re right. Steven Shane, what are your thoughts on your match this week on Aggression?

Shane: I don’t have a match this week.

James: Yes, you do. You’re teaming with Stalker to take on Anarky and CopyCat?

Shane: Since when?

James: Since the Aggression lineup came out earlier this week.

Shane: That’s weird. I thought Anarky and CopyCat were taking on each other.

James: What would give you that idea?

Shane: I know you probably didn’t understand ANY of their ramblings this week, but the only things I’ve heard from either of them is a whole bunch of stuff about He and Him and Her and possibly some It, but that last one might mean the match. Not sure.

James: So is that why no one’s heard anything from you this week?

Shane: You haven’t heard from me because I don’t have a match.

James: Steve, I promise you, you have a match this week.

Shane: Why would I believe you? You’re not even employed by EPW.

James: Here.

James hands Shane a piece of paper.

Shane: What’s this?

James: The Aggression 56 official lineup?

Shane: Official? Looks like you did this on a Commodore 64.

James: I promise you this is straight from the EPW corporate headquarters.

Shane: Then why haven’t I heard anything about me this week?

James: Actually, both men have touched on you this week.

Shane: Am I the He?

James: I don’t think so.

Shane: The Him?

James: Actually, the both just briefly mentioned you.

Shane: So these guys talked about something else?

James: Mostly each other.

Shane: Thus, meaning they must be facing each other.

James: I think they just have differing ideas on how to make EPW prosperous.

Shane: Really? I have an idea on that, too.

James: And what would that be?

Shane: Keep those two from talking.

James: Then we wouldn’t know their feelings on their upcoming matches.

Shane: Better for all of us. A little less nonsense in the world.

James: They really made pretty good sense if you paid attention.

Shane: Says the guy who doesn’t know his own name.

James: It’s James.

Shane: You said it was Jamal.

James: YOU said it was Jamal.

Shane: Now you sound like Him.

James: Which one?

Shane: HIM.

James: Anarky or CopyCat?

Shane: Not him, that’s He.

James: Okay. I’m not going to go through an entire Abbot and Costello routine with you here. Do you have any comments about the Lethal Lottery?

Shane: The only thing lethal about this lottery is putting two nonsensical morons like Anarky and CopyCat in the same ring.

James: Many would say that the two of them in the same ring is good for the business.

Shane: The only good that could come out of it for the business would be if they managed to maim each other’s mouth shut.

James: Alright. Thank you for your time, Steven. Anything else to say on your match this week?

Shane: What match?

James huffs, lowers his head, and drops the microphone to his side as he walks away.

Shane: What the hell is wrong with Him?
