To clarify even further - I had several backup angles in mind in case Lindsay put up any duds in RP. I had it set up so that whoever did the best RP, I had a storyline set to use for it - and that's pretty standard for any angle I give the go ahead to - anyone who's worked with me knows I specifically like to have angles to be flexible so they can be adjusted on the fly. I do not like 'set in stone' godbooking. Just a preference.

Don't lie. She could have done an RP like this and won: http://fwrestling.com/fwc/showpost.php?p=75807&postcount=4

Haha, just taking the piss there. I love it. :D

As for the discussion... If the promoter can create a fun league for their players, whatever works for him I guess. I wouldn't set a certain match outcome in stone and stick to it regardless of roleplay involvement though. If someone doesn't show up, they don't deserve a win compared to someone who does. That's me though, and I've worked with promoters who had an outcome the moment a feud was pitched to them.

When I was promoting, and I've promoted longer than I care to know or remember, I mostly didn't even know what the results of the weekly shows were going to be until I was assigning matches to people. It didn't matter how awesome the angle sounded either, because if the roleplayers decided that playing with their dick was a better idea than to meet the deadline, then **** their angle because someone else did the work to get on the card or win a match.

It also allowed me to work week-by-week, and I've always been the best when working in the moment. Even when I wrote my book, I worked better in the moment. I had a vague idea as to where I wanted it to go, and an idea as to how to end it, but a good storyline works a lot like life itself - one never knows where it might go, and it's the little things that make it what it is.

Right, don't know if anybody is still reading me at this point or not so **** this. Another beer...

This is a reply that I posted over at PTC, but I think it's worth reposting here:
There is.

Let the fed head control who plays together and for what amount of time. Then, let the handlers do whatever they want in that amount of time. This helps the fed head learn who can do what when, and who's really going to live up to their end of a bargain in a feud.

I also don't think everyone needs a feud. There's guys who shouldn't have one -- especially lower card guys -- who wrestle every week. Sometimes it's to prove their spot, sometimes it's to angle a loss into a future angle, sometimes a win to help an angle, whatever.

The fed head has very little power in most angle feds (historically) and that needs to change.

This is the correct answer.

It was very frustrating for me in ACW after I completed my feud between Suleimon and GOP and had them branch off against other wrestlers because there were no other wrestlers available to feud with. I left the fed shortly after that because of that frustration, because the people that I was planning on doing a go with flaked out and then everyone else was tied up for 4 months in advance (which in e-fed time can be in upwards of a year real time). It was really no reflection on the quality of writing; it was just the availability of writers.

It's here that fedheads need to take an active responsibility. Honestly, I feel like no one should be allowed to plan more than one feud in advance. You want to have a feud that goes on six months? If you've made it to the top of the card, that's fine, you earned it, but at the same time, don't tie yourself up so that you can't work with other people. If the fedhead can't step up and say "Hey, knock it off and keep yourself open if your feud is ending", then what the **** is the fedhead there for?

It also annoys me when the feuds involve titles. Again, this is where hte fedhead should step in and say, "Hey, e-fedder X has been really killing it the last six months, I think he deserves a World Title program."

The last thing I want is for angle feds to become like RP feds, only with segment writing being the judge of booking, but at the same time, all feds need and crave some kind of structure. A lot of times, the great writing that happens in angle fedding is wasted because there's no structure to curtail excess.

I think until that happens, the kick in the ass that angle feds need won't come.
