In an announcement that nobody in the wrestling business expected or ever thought they’d hear, word out of Memphis, TN just moments ago from the brass at local NBC affiliate and historically the Original and Leading television station providing Memphis and the surrounding areas with wrestling action from the sixties to the nineties, has thrown their hat back into the proverbial wrestling ring!
The relatively short press release left plenty up for speculation, such as exactly who is backing this project, what timeslot will see wrestling return to television in Memphis, what sort of syndication to look forward to or who we can even expect to see in the ring!
WMC-TV representatives declined any further comment, only saying that a press conference would be held “in the next couple of days” at the WMC-TV studios where the big questions would be answered and the speculation put to a rest.
